the Birth/Bap/Died/Bur fields on the Individual's Information screen? If
so, then those *are* events in and of themselves. You don't get extra
events created for these items.

Another word for "combine duplicates" is Merge. Look it up in the
on-line help.

what's wrong with creating an Event Type of 'Alt. Spelling' or something
similar? This would alleviate reams of the 'Another name for...' notes
and also allow you to source the alternative/wrong spelling.
Aliases should really be left for alternate, offic
