It's a donated vehicle so some charity thinks they can make big money
off a merzaydeez. Someone probably got tired of dealing with it when it
wouldn't start or run so just donated it with some story about it being
valuable.
Primary Damage: MECHANICAL
Starting Bid: $725 USD

I looked at this car last week. It is very rough and rusty. Gasser 116s are
worth this much now? I crushed several decent whole 450s because you couldn’t
give them away.

My Polei might be a good candidate for OM603. Runs and drives with a very
strong engine and transmission. Transmission shop who did the adjustment was
surprised by her response. Something about a Raped Ape at highway speeds.

yes agreed. for 500 to 750, it'd be worth it maybe.

I’m not really sure what the deal was with this car. The oil was way too high
in the dipstick, like half way up it. Coolant looked dirty but no oil in. It
has a salvage title. With auction fees car was close to $1300. That seems
pretty steep for a salvage title car that has unknown mechanical is
interesting! Now that I have an engine from the SDL to use, all the
350SDL rodbenders with bent rods have dried up. A 124 300D with a bad
engine would be a good candidate too. Maybe in a year I might have
time to do an engine swap. Too many projects ahead of it now.

I went and looked at this car yesterday. I put in my max bid at 475. It sold
for $8xx. Car was clean and the low miles looks correct but it is listed as
mechanical. Battery was not dead but unknown if it would start. Also, not shown
in the pics is a huge dent in the rear where they must have ran
I wonder why those are ran they a late night auction separate from the normal
auction the different locations usually has? It is almost like maybe they are
leftover cars gathered from different places they run thru to try and get rid
of.

The main feature of the 9pm auctions is the speed with which the cars don't
sell.
2-3 cars a minute, almost always with reserve not met.
It's like they held a sale and no serious buyers came, or the sellers all have
silly expectations.

What is the deal with this copart auctions at night? For example there
is one going right now that just started that is central region or
something like that. Cars do not all appear to be at the same location.
I guess this is some sort of special auction? I see them all the time, I
guess ever
Clean title repairable.
Went for $3500, reserve not met.
Should I have bid on it for Regina?

A few minutes later another W164 sold for $4150.

What I don’t get is that in TX only dealers or brokers can bid on TX CT cars,
yet in the past I have bought several cars from the CAN donation auction down
there that had CT.

In theory, I should be able to bid on the MI clear titles and not on the MI
clear title dealer only cars. But it doesn't work that way in practice, even
though I overheard one of the counter gals telling another customer that he
could bid on any car that was CT.
But what about a MI clear titl
That is true

Good to know. Thanks for pointing that out.
Too bad their system doesn’t seem to discern what your status is as a bidder,
or if it does, not until you try and place a bid.

Well if it’s something worth pursuing that you are interested in, you just bid
thru one of the brokers and they charge a couple hundred for that.
