Something that might work is to make a 20 MB FAT patition and install MS Dos
and then the DOS drivers for the SB16 soundcard w/Panasonic CD drivers...and
try the DOS boot (might need to d/l the newest "autoboot.bat" image from

At the LILO prompt when first starting Linux type "linux 3" -- w/o quotes.
That will take you to a text console, from there you can rerun your X setup
with whatever config program your prefer.
As to why you lose X config I have no idea.

Is your video using shared system RAM, try reducing the 128 to 127, 126,125
until it works correctly. Some hardware reports the RAM a little different.

with Pro Motion using the AT25 3DFX drivers for Windows ( on my Windows box).
Haven't tried this card with Linux as I have a Cirrus Logic 5465 in mine.

Also check your CMOS and see if you have enabled "MEMORY HOLE 15 - 16 MB" (not
