A couple more problems/questions: 1) As a normal user I can use kppp just fine. However, as root it doesn't work. It will dial the modem, I hear it connect, but then it pops up 'No Carrier'. And if I query the modem I get all blanks rather than the info I get as a normal user. Any ideas?
