Testing indicates that neither double click nor click and down arrow work on
some sites, you have to remember the value and type a few letters before you get
anything. Kind of worthless when password manager was going to remember what
login you made up for that site. People who use the same lo
consistency is more important than convenience, so all
drop downs have to work the same way, even when you want the box in almost every
case, like logging into a site.
I hate to say this, but in virtually every case where an existing method was
changed, the new way is less convenient.
