I suppose you work on Windows. Try opening the program with the Start
button -> Start/Programs/Openoffice.org 2.0/Openoffice.org Writer.

e shortcut for only Calc or for the entire
group of OOo applications. You have to go to the bottom of the lower
left pane and find OpenOffice.org Macros, press on the plus sign in
front of it to select your macro.

Europe) and decimal points (used in US). I have it when I type a point
in a value instead of a comma.

You don't say which OS you are using. Under Windows, US international
works very well. Under Linux you select a US keyboard with dead keys.

Right mouse click on a .doc file in explorer (Windowskey-E) then select
the program to open the files with (Microsoft Word) and tick the box to
set this as default. Do the same for .xls and .ppt.

OpenOffice.org on a CD-R and pass it to customers as a
service and it is not even forbidden to charge like 1, 5 or 10
euros/dollars for expenses for it. You can also try to charge 500, but
you can't forbid your customer to give it away for free or start selling
it him/herself to somebody else.

It's probably done to be 'politically correct' or rather independent of
gender to avoid ugly he/she/it constructions.
Of course, maybe someday there will be a grammar checker in OOo Writer
and the issue w
ource code everywhere, on people's hard disks and on CD's

for CD's with several language versions of OOo.

How do I know which US version to download?
I type in English and in French. I have downloaded the English version
of OpenOffice.2 for Mac and the dictionaries for French. The spelling
checker works properly for English, but not for French. The French
dictionaries have been down loaded in the "User" file while the English

Thank you. I finally found everything and yes, it DOES read WordPerfect
files so now I'll switch my files over as I need them. The help messages
answer my questions before I ask them because other people have the same
questions as I do.
