You can't rename it as long as file sharing is on. Turn it off, and rename it.

I'm having many screen freezes and type 1,3 10 errors. This week I'm also
getting bus errors. I've got the max on memory and have system 7.5.5. It's a
68030 w/mhz. Any ideas would be helpful

It seems very awkward for most people. I'm just happy I was able to get
the update version of 7.5.3 when it was available as 14 disk images, even
though it required that 7.5 already be installed. It has come in very
handy.

creating 7.0.1 floppies so I can upgrade, but I don't know whether or not

An update: I finished upgrading to 7.0.1*(System 7 Tuner active), and reinstalled
the Network Software, with AppleEthernet LC driver. Even still, when I attempt
to switch to Ethertalk, I get the following: Could not switch to Ethertalk
