Mark, I don't know whether the latest iTunes for Windows version will run on a 32-bit system but I'd recommend you execute your Windows 7 Start button and type Apple Software update in the box and see what it offers you. That's how I've gotten past iTunes versions on my Windows 7 64-bit system

Hi Mark, I'm wondering if your back up issue for your phone is simply a 64 bit issue as your OS and iTunes are 32 bit, And that doesn't work in most cases. Apart from having to pretty much wipe your machine and start again, What about updating to a 64 bit windows version? -Original Mess
