Thanks for the suggestions, I suspect a monitor related issue. I just put in a Linux boot disk (FL-Digi) and I do not even get a signal to the monitor, nothing displayed at all, same when i try to boot the HD with Windows XP. . The video is on the motherboard so there is no video CARD to reseat.

He is using the Icom 706MKII with a Microham Digikeyer , would not this provide the ability to PTT via FLDIGI and the 706 ? Perhaps FLDIGI would need to comm ports to configure, one for rig control and another for PTT. Perhaps by NOT clicking the USE RIGCAT option the Digikey would do the PTT.
