Re: (313) Guide to K. Hand?
my favourite kelly hand track is global warning on warp from 94. great piece of detroit techno. http://www.discogs.com/release/3215 -- Yes, really nice track! I had a radio show for many years called Global Warning. It was clearly inspired by the track because in the record it says: 'This is a global warning, the underground and not a rave station.' John

(313) Movement statement
Goodmornin' folks, We've got a statement from Kevin's camp about Movement telling the following: Kevin Saunderson submitted his proposal to produce the festival in September. It was not until just recently we were told he was given the contract. We suggested benching it for 05 because of the late date and re-grouping for 06 with ample time to prepare and produce the festival properly. We were told that is not an option, and it is necessary to produce it this year. With that in mind, we suggested being able to charge a nominal fee for the festival, as at this late date, it is impossible to fund it otherwise. We are now awaiting the city's response as to whether this is possible or not. As soon as we have an answer, we will announce our plans one way or another. John
Re: (313) Movement statement
Hey - and talking of mammoth tasks, I read on the link to the technotourist site yesterday that John Osselar is building a house Blimey. I can't even get my act together to buy one, let alone build one. Good luck with that John. If you need any cheap bricks - I'm your man. Pound a piece to you (for cash). -- Hehe, thanks Alex. Well, building... We're buying a casco, meaning it's only the four walls and connections for water, gas and electricity. All the rest is up to us, which is sorta scary, but also tremendously cool since you can have everything the way you like it; within our tight budget that is. It's gonna be tough on the financial front, but you get to a point in your life where you have to make these sorts of decisions... But to put things back on topic: I'd rather do the house than having to organize Movement in such a short notice. The best of luck to Kevin, Barbara and their team. John

I have to agree, Saturday was the most fun I had in a long time, but that's probably because of all the familiar faces, many from abroad. A full report on TT.org? Yeah, it's gonna get on the site eventually, but we are 'a bit' behind at the TT headquarters. Yes, that's Juan allright. Actually, I just got his new project on Tresor: the Berlin Sessions, and it's also quite a bit more straight-forward than the classic material. RE: (313) Kerry admits it's over
I think the gop has succeeded in creating an atmosphere of fear so pervasive and a media blackout so effective, that the american people have begun a regression into the whacked-out puritan paranoia that founded this place.! -- I think that if people made a point of accessing more global(ly oriented) and 'alternative' media it could really make a difference in obtaining a more balanced view on a whole number of issues. And before I get in any trouble, sorry all, it's a real sore spot for me but I'll shut up now. Hows the job market in canada? I really would like to know from someone on ground zero. Any preference of canadian cities besides the tdot? Whatup with bc? -- Although I'm a strong supporter of a global exchange of ideas, hospitality and even residency, a large exodus of more leftwing oriented people probably wouldn't benefit the US itself. For obvious reasons... Will it all go to damnation? Well... I seem to rember a certain musical style (or at least currents within it) found a fertile breeding ground in the grim mood of the 80ies when Reagonomics and the virtual bankrupcy of the US due to the fight against the 'evil empire' (Does this sound familiar?) was weighing down big time on 'little folks'. Maybe these new 'dark' times people will find their escape in the music or use it as a vehicle to voice their oppinion/protest. In believe in these times some of the messages UR launched in the early/mid nineties really prevail, they even got stronger: Do not allow yourself to be programmed! MEK: Music isn't going to save the American people from damnation... --- Never said it would. I was just trying to see the silver lining behind the storm front. But, in reality, they'll only learn about it if they want to. -- Yes, I think that is what it boils down to. I've met people with no connection to techno or electronic music, but who were still interested to hear how this music came together. And then I've met techno fans who were not just merely interested in drum loop techno, but this sort of drumlooptechno, with that sort of compressor sound. Anything else? No, sorry, not interested. Maybe if the resources are there for them to look into it if they want to, then thats a start. e.g. Techno Rebels book, or a good site on the subject? -- I guess this is what I had in mind. Different ways to expose people to the information so that, if they are interested, they can at least find it. But I still say torture and intimidation is the best method. -- Always willing to fall back on that one if all else fails. ;-) John _ - End of message text Is your business ready for the new era of accounting? http://www.ifrs.co.uk This e-mail is sent by the above named in their individual, non-business capacity and is not on behalf of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. RE: (313) On reflection
Yeah, I think Technotourist do that with Scan 7 - lets just see what we can build and who will help. Shout out KJ... --- Well, I was actually the one who helped setting up this year's edition of TBPT, together with Scan 7. The sad part is that I won't be able to make it over to Detroit next year. Construction has begun on the house my girlfriend and I have bought so I simply won't have the money nor the time (we need to do all the work inside, including the second floor, heating, plumbing, electricity ourselves!) next year. That doesn't mean I don't want to help out for the next edition, but I certainly won't be able to put in the same amount of hours I did this year. But it would certainly be a nice idea to bring everybody together. Every year there's a few separate and loose initiatives to meet up with people and in the end everybody seems to find one another anyway, but one initiative to bring everybody together at one point would be great. Mind though that things get pretty hectic in Detroit during the festival and meeting up or simply making it on time to appointments tends to be difficult. Came out around 97-98 Below is a partial review of it (includes comments of another documentary as well) __ Universal Techno, directed by Dominique Deluze last year, covering the scenes in Europe, USA and Japan. The film started with Richard D James wandering in some eerie catacombs, explaining how it feels like home, and eventually almost looked like Who's Who in Techno, featuring Derrick May, Kevin Saunderson, Juan Atkins, Kenny Larkin, Jeff Mills, even Mike Banks (who only agreed to be interviewed with his face covered); from Europe (vastly overrated but for this feature essential, I guess) Sven Väth, Autechre (touring in Barcelona), Mark Bell of (and these days also all of) LFO, Steve Beckett of Warp Records; and from Japan, Ken Ishii. All in all, and what usually troubles all features of this kind, the documentary felt at times too patchy, giving artists only a chance to provide some memorable soundbites at their best (the scene with Derrick May and his visual designer giving a weird rap on the tenth planet of solar system was great!); with some interesting glimpes to the streets of Detroit (which looked at times like some post-apocalyptic war zone, really), Sheffield and Tokyo, and of course to some sublime-looking raves, parties (Jeff Mills in all-DJ action, mmm...), gigs and videos (Ken Ishii's 'Extra', LFO's 'Tied Up' and Autechre's 'Second Bad Vilbel'). And as usually, the omissions were almost as remarkable as what was featured there: where were for example Robert Hood, Carl Craig or Richie Hawtin; all jungle and trip hop (or hardcore) artists; or minimalists like Maurizio and Sähkö/Panasonic posse (I must be biased here...) -- but obviously it's totally impossible to cover all scene in merely an hour.

RE: (313) Techno Brings People Together
No Ian, this year's edition is quite different from last year's. Last year it was a rather big public event. This year is a rather intimate private event. The location has a limited capacity and that there is a free dinner. You have got to realize that you can't do that for several hundreds of people. Sometimes you've got to work with what you have and make the best out of it. The original idea was a meetmingle + dinner. I added the idea of the roundtable to that because I believe it's an interesting an valuable thing to do. If all goes well we should be able to record the panel discussion. In that case I will write everything out and have it made available on the website. Techno Brings People Together is going to be a yearly event. If all goes as planned next year's edition should be public again. Cheers! Hi Jason, Thanks for the nice compliments. This kind of reaction is why we do it and what keeps us going. If you only knew how many interviews I have still have to write or type out it would make you cry. We will do our utmost best to keep them coming at a steady flow, but please keep in mind that we are a small crew running the site, that we all have absorbing day jobs and other hobbies as well. Tonight we'll be adding another interview to our vault: Detroit Grand Pubahs. ;-) John http://www.technotourist.org To just label this article as another wonderful interview from the Techno Tourists is not giving TT its dues. Some of the things said in this interview gave me chills. The amount of imagination and creativeness displayed in both apranets interview AND their album is a testament to what we are doing by exploring the medium of electronic music. And thanks to the techno tourists for laying down the best series of techno related interviews I have been exposed too, ever. If anyone knows of anymore archived interview collections (in english only, i'm afraid my systems are programmed to receive other types of regionally coded information ) please let me know your favorite collections. -jason PS I will be going to the netherlands to explore new territory at the end of this month. I am very excited 'bout this trip and I will be bringing a few of my favorite records with me. If anybody else in that area has dedicated themselves to the craft of DJing, please hit me with a private reply if you are interested in meeting for information exchange. Re: (313) Fw: Jockey Slut mag
all i can say is bring back Magic Feet WORD! I would love to hear some views on the decline of the dance music media in Europe. It's not only the UK that is experiencing this. Two weeks ago, Bassic Groove, the leading Dutch dance magazine, announced it had gone bust, restylings everywhere, content moving from music to 'lifestyle', etc. What are the main reasons behind this? Some clues: The fallback in the music industry = less advertisements The availability of much 'magazine' info on the net, usually a lot faster than the paper variant and sometimes a lot more elaborate and FREE! In some European countries the ban on tobacco ads caused serious damage. The (forced) switch to more 'lifestyle' oriented content while there's already quite a lot of that (sort of magazines) around + turning away the music lovers Youngsters have more things they want to spend their money on; magazines don't really take up the primary spot in their top 10... What do you think weighs most on the decline of the paper dance magz? John

So I could as well tell you all how it went. I got there with my bike at 23h30 or something. Half an hour after the doors opened. There weren´t that many people there yet. So I stood aside and drank a coke. A few minutes later, some friends of Deinze came in (Stoica and Peter). We had a little chat.. and they introduced me to Jonny McIntosh, who was apparently sitting in the other room (there are two rooms in the culture club, the location of the party). After having a short chat with this nice bloke, I went downstairs and saw that theo parrish was standing there with Stoica. So Stoica introduced me and theo and I chatted for about 30 minutes. I was just a bit confused... cause I´m like one of the biggest fans you know and I never met him before, and he was just plain friendly. This guy is just so devoted to his music. Apparently, he has like this plant in his home in detroit, but it is dieing, because he just hasn´t the time to give it its basic needs (a bit of water once in a while)... he´s just spending every minute of his day on music, you know. More like this guy please! After that John Osselaer and Hans Veneman from the TechnoTourist crew came in, and not much later Red D (Bart Van Neste) started his dj set, wich was filled with classics and new real good tracks (llike the new aguila from dj rolando, wich sended shivers down my spine.. those kinda epic tracks sound real intense on a big soundsystem). It was a pleasure to listen to his set. At 1 o' clock, I went to the other room where Reggie Dokes started to play. I witnessed the first half hour of his set. But it wasn´t that interesting.. the mixes were not that good.. and he was playing a bit too much of the mainstream disco for my taste (but then again, I only saw the first half hour of his set, so it could be that he killed it after that). the reason why I left Reggie Dokes was to ensure that I wouldn´t miss the beginning of the theo parrish dj set. Theo came on at 2 o'clock, and he just rocked the place! Real good selection of disco and house tracks, even some jack trax (farley etc..). HE pplayed likes theis extremely interesting unreleased theo parrish (maybe three chairs) track.. 110 bpm, good bassline.. A LOT of live instrumentation, vocals and all that. Great building and plotting track. After that he played what sounded to my ears as a theo parrish edit of sueno latino. The dope standdard theo beats, over the buidling melody of the original. Maybe something for Ugly Edits #6? I am really looking forward to all the yet to be released theo parrish tracks, cause I can assure you that they sound good... real intense. He is getting better and better every day, tending to get in the style direction of summertime is here, my favourite theo parrish moment till now. Theo played, as I said, a fine selection of classics (think wood, brass steel's funkanova, made in usa - melodies, a fingers inc track, club lonely from lil' louis (he started his set with this one), probably some baze tracks, and a sh*tload of other tracks that I forgot about). After 2 hours he started playing some reggae. I had danced my ass of for the past 3 hours or something and needed a rest. I went to the other room where Reggie Dokes allready stopped. Some kinky people resident was delivering the goods. With a nice selection of deep house tracks. Nice. Since I was really getting tired at that point, I decided to take my coat and go home for some sleep (I also had to ride another 30 minutes with my bike...).. All in all: (adapt simpson's comic book store guy voice): BEST nite EVER. Really.. can´t remember when I danced like that before. I now know that Deep House / Chicago House / Detroit Techno + House / Disco / Soul is the best music to dance to for me. It makes me move my hips.. not like the harder kind of techno, with just makes me move my head. The thngs I will remember, besides the good music, is certainly meeting the people: Theo, Jonny, Hans. All real nice people, KINKY PEOPLE! Ow.. and there were also some real nice girls dancing in my surroundings, and that's always a plus. Cheers, Maarten - http://www.morthenkiang.com/
RE: (313) jeff mills at lost yesterday + free mix
Ok, it's shameless self-promo, but it might help clearing things up a bit. Here's an extract from an interview I did with Jeff last year around this time. TT: You just mentioned disappearing and reappearing. At Sonar I saw you disappear at some point, but the music kept playing and there were images of you playing records. I was pretty confused by that. Was that done on purpose or did you just need to go to the loo? Jeff: (laughs) No, that was on purpose. It was designed so that at one point the film would take over. At a certain point there was no need for me to be on the stage. Once the film took over I left and stood on the side and watched for my cue to come back up and take over from the film. That was like a test as well, to see if the people would be able to continue on with the party if say something was simulated. That was an experiment. I don't think it worked out so well because the venue was so large that the people in the middle or the back couldn't see anyway. We tried it once before in Tokyo and it was the same thing. At first the people were confused, they didn't understand where I had gone, but the music was still playing and there was still this image of me playing on the screen. What I had hoped to get from that was the indication that the people wouldn't mind dancing to an image and that would lead us into this holograph thing where at a certain point they would actually be dancing to a simulation of myself or multiple DJs. The full interview can be found here: http://www.technotourist.org/modules.php?op=modloadname=Sectionsfile=i ndexreq=viewarticleartid=19 Yes, some shameless site-promo, I know! :) John -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: dinsdag 26 augustus 2003 15:10 To: Martin Cc: 313@hyperreal.org Subject: Re: (313) jeff mills at lost yesterday + free mix For the record I thought Mills was brilliant (as usual) !! Quote: When it comes to techno labels as a general rule a name must have an emphasis on technology and a disassociation from human culture like the band Kraftwerk. --- ?? As a general rule there are no rules to techno. Or at least there should not be any rules. That's what sets it apart and what safeguards its evolution and progress. And 'disassociation from human culture'?? I could point you to numerous labels that care more about people than about technology. Everybody should! If you need a leading example: Jeff Mills, truly concerned with society and sociological evolutions + a will to let those ideas infiltrate his music. And maybe, just maybe, Kraftwerk were not all that 'pro' disassociation from human culture. Maybe they wanted to point it out and have people think about it. Think about both the positive and the negative aspects of the technological evolution mankind is going through. It's not because it can be done technologically that it should be done. And if I recall well all the pictures on the site are from the -by now more than legendary - first edition of the DEMF. Why is that? Forgot to pay last year's photographer??? And damn right about the total lack of respect for some of the true people in Detroit. John From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: 313@hyperreal.org Subject: Re: [313] Drexciya and the DEMF Date: Mon, 15 Apr 2002 23:19:20 +0200 Hey man its a shame because If PCM continue to disrespect guys like these and lose all support of the Detroit techno community, then the rest of the world is soon gonna follow. People have way too much respect for guys like UR and Derrick to continue supporting an event that continues to flex its commercial muscle over the scene and music they have built. When you think it was partly the vision of guys like Derrick and Carl that gave birth to the DEMF to begin with, only to then publicly diss Carl and now show an utter lack of respect to the professionalism of many other Detroit artists, right down to the tiniest detail of having Derrick on the website homepage after he had voiced his distance from the whole project. Maybe I've got it all wrong, hey what do I really know. What I would like to know though is were the selection comittee aware that PCM planned to list thier selection without having first booked or even contacted the artists involved? Re: [313] Warp Magic Bus Tour
And you don't think this is true for the US?! It is, and by far worse. Everyone I'd love to see are constantly being booked over in Europe. Suburban Knight is right from my hometown, but he plays overseas more than he does right here in Detroit! --- Maybe that's because he resides in Belgium for a couple of months a year... It's depressing. There are many promoters here that would love to bring people in, but because they are underground small-atmosphere functions, they just don't have the money to do it. It often is that no one here cares. People here care about what's on the surface, the commercial attraction. People like Sasha and Digweed, DJ Irene, DJ Skribble, Darude (your basic lame ass shows) are booked in Detroit and in the US, thousands of people will go to those shows. But if someone like Claude Young came and played Detroit, the turn-out rate would be a lot less. Commercialism is HORRIBLE in a capitalist society, things take much longer to evolve. In Europe you have many electronic music festivals and events I would love to go to, there's only a few here that interest me at all. --- All sounds very familiar, but here you would at least have a decent turnout for Claude Young. My main point is that - as Tristan put it - the grass is always greener on the other side. Lots of US folks think Europe is heaven, but that often isn't the case. Just trying to save you the disappointment I guess. Besides it's up to everyone individual what he/she is looking for in the nightlife. John It's how some promotors try to get money out of every single aspect related to a party. It has nothing to do with music anymore. Another frustration on my side is the fact that almost nobody (mind though, there are exceptions) dares to take any risks anymore: always the same names on the flyers. You US folks (and other) just enjoy the small-scale underground atmosphere; here everything is turning so commercial. Yeah sure, we do get a lot of great artists over, but what's the use if nearly everything these days gets watered down and commercialised. _ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: http://mobile.msn.com - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

[313] Technotourist Electrospecial announcement
Hi list, I hope you have been enjoying the electrospecial at the Technotourist site for the last three weeks. Up untill now we put up interviews with ADULT. Anthony Rother and Ectomorph. Let me be the one to tell you that you'll have to be a bit patient for the final interview in the series. Due to deadline fever and extreme fatigue I'll have to work on the last feature this weekend instead of getting it online by tomorrow. It was an e-mail interview. I was supposed to do the interview at the bruch at Submerge on the Tuesday after this years DEMF, but Jeff had forgotten about a dentist appointment so we ended up doing it by e-mail. I had a lot more questions than that, but he picked out those ten. The interview up at the Technotourist site is nothing more than the qa of that interview. John From: Cyclone Wehner [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: 313 Detroit 313@hyperreal.org Subject: Re: [313] The Tao of Mills Date: Mon, 19 Nov 2001 01:08:48 +1100 I am almost 99 percent certain this was an e-mail (written) interview. I think Jeff maybe writes a little more formally than he speaks. This often happens with e-mail interviews, people are more aware of the written word and approach the interview differently. I have to say Jeff is extremely generous with his e-mail interviews, a lot of artists write one sentence answers, whereas he puts time and thought into them! But I don't think people realise that while he is intellectually curious he has a good sense of humour which is part of that optimism. I think that obliqueness you refer to is a product of his relativistic outlook which is the thing that most fascinates me about Mills - it takes a lot of mental discipline to be relativistic about things! This was a great read! Incidentally I expect/anticipate HYPER detailed reports of the Agents Of Change party on this list!! :) I'm going to completely disregard the thread that unrolled from Jeff Mills into particle physics... The thing that mosts fascinates me about Jeff Mills is the way that he speaks is a little fuzzy meaningwise. It makes me want to put on my green eyeshade and copy edit for him. You KNOW what's he's getting at but he uses words that are a little off from the meaning he intends. It's a little like he's translating from another language. Parts I loved: His explanation of the title Every Dog Has His Day where he breaks it down literally. I guess it is an English Language colloquialism, but it's not that obscure. It is a good avoidance of stating directly what HE meant by it. Often, I can feel and see the things that words can not say and numbers cannot calculate. Perceiving the unknown in hopes to survive the unexpected. ...as our society advances, we will discover more frequently and dealing with those discoveries must be met with a better understanding of our own limitations. The usage of discover is intriguing -- it could mean 'we will discover new things' but it's more general -- it's using 'discover' as an active verb with no object. This act of discovery is generic and open form. If you know what you're looking for you're not really discovering anything new. ... [time] is the very thing we do not understand but, yet we try to make sense of it and from guessing what it is, most of us settle and build our lives. Chasing the meaning of time is resonably beyond us so, we can do nothing but wait. It is this waiting that is fascinating. Whoa. J i think i also remember seeing on their site somewhere that they hope to sell the normal final scratch (software, two records, and the little usb dongle soundbox) for something around $500. last i heard, they were having trouble porting the software from BeOS to windows/mac, and that a large part of that price was the Be, Inc. licensing fee. investigative reporting at it's finest, -j Jeffrey Paul [EMAIL PROTECTED] (877) 748 3467 ICQ: 14295546 AIM: kw34hd1 NXTL/DC: 130*21*16749 PGP: 0xF50BB9D7 A21AFD828C30EC77545DA0B3F501F50BB9D7 - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] _ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Does anybody know of any online interviews with/features on Miss Kitten and/or The Hacker? Except for the one up at PHinnweb. Their new album rocks! And they are performing in Belgium next Friday... Re: [313] Felix Da Housecat
Best album of the year IMHO. A delightfull return to 80ies sounds, song structures, warm, ananlogue, raw, you named it's got it. It's a very nice collaboration between Felix and Miss Kittin. The new album of Miss Kitten The Hacker is in the same sleazy 80ies style and what do you guess, it's on International Deejay Gigolos. I also really recommend reading the feature on Gigolo by fellow listmember Tom 'Magic Feet' Robbins in Jockey Slut. See ya, John Anyone heard his new full-length? RE: [313] fuel to the fire : was hawtin hawtin everywhere
True, the only indication i had during Todd Sines' live pa that he was changing something up on his laptop was when he started wiggling his ass and bobbing his head ... and he was doing a lot of that! Maybe bigger and better cooler looking external controllers are the way forward since it solves both problems. (setting up/crowd satisfaction and understanding) --- Another way to enhance that could be projecting what is being done on a large screen although I can imagine some artists may have problems with such an 'indepth view'. I think it is *very* important for the audience to recieve visual cues to the music. Its how they can start to understand what's going on. Since most people don't own studio equipment, or know people who own studio equipment, they don't fully understand the concept unless there are strong visual cues (i do this and the music does that). Now, i understand the HUGE popularity of laptop live pa's right now with the artists. it IS so much easier to setup. But i guess i feel its sacrificing too much for ease of use. _ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] _ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Re: [313] killer! of a label.
I really like Chair, also distributed by the Round Table. I got a bunch of those while I was in Toronto and I was really happy to I dragged them home. J My favorites of the Round Table distributed material is A/S System and Aleph. The Killer stuff was OK, too. Same with Induced, which is a label a bit more on the sleazy disco and electro tip. All of the releases have a sort of 'big room' techno sound, most noticeably the Cochran and Wynick stuff (A:\ B:\ C:\ and D:\) on Format. Bingo, bingo, bingo. That cd is what made me change my style completely! I just love that cd and still play it. Also made a copy on tape that practically spins in a continuous loop in my girlfriend's car stereo (my car stereo is worthless...). Just came back from the store and bought Easy Forms on Force Tracks, Tech Couture by Hakan Libdo on Poker Flat and Pepe Bradock: Burning. Yes, it's a shame I still had to get that last one and I don't know if it fits the minimal house description, but it sure as ¨h*ll is a superb track. John P.S. Recommendations always welcome! Re: [313] micro house
There's also a remix EP of it with mixes from Richie Hawtin (deep and groovy, Closer-To-The-Edit-style) and Octave One in their trademarked 430West-style. -- Yep,that's an excellent one. I bought that less than half a mile from the hotel where I had interviewed Richie just minutes before. Had done the interview, walked in the store, saw the record that he had just mentioned and bought it without even listening to it, which was something I had never done before... The locked grooves on the vinyl version of DE9 are also pretty cool to throw into a minimal house/techno set. I actually did that last Friday when playing in a small pub. I happened to play some of the records Rich had cut up so I could fool around with the locked grooves a bit. [313] ADULT. live show
I went to see ADULT. last Friday (together with KJ and Peter) and had a blast. Although I was still a bit ill and very weak I danced my *ss off. Probably the best party I went to this year. Adam and Nicola had lost two cases with material on their way over, but the promotor managed to get all the gear together by the time the party started. ADULT. were great and the crowd - a dark crossover between punk, newwave, EBM, techno, etc. - went totally crazy, dancing like maniacs and shouting their lungs out. The sound was cristalclear and loud as hell, my ears were buzzing untill the next morning. Try to catch them if they play anywhere near you!!
