Re: Price and duration for Remedy RSP and RAC certification?

2007-08-27 Thread Michiel Beijen
Tarun,

Total cost and time you can best calculate yourself, I guess.

The needed training courses are on the website together with their prices
deduct: discounts (if applicable), for you the special Capgemini 'BMC
Partner' discount
add: travel, expenses on hotels + dinner etc

I suggest it is best to not go in there blank and follow all training in one
month's time but first do like Admin 1 and 2, then get some real-life
experience, then go back in the classroom for #3, after some more months of
experience do Performance Tuning Troubleshooting, etc.

I guess it will be realistic to have the RAC about one year after you've
started working with AR System, provided that you are actually working and
developing with the system in the mean time.
Basic knowledge required: just general IT education; there is no pre-req for
special Windows or Unix training.

I took two courses every year, which also made the total expense on the
training acceptable for my employer.
Please bear in mind that RAC does not learn you ANYTHING about ITSM
applications or Atrium CMDB; you have to take additional courses for that
and/or find out for yourself...

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

2007-08-27 Thread Opela, Gary L Contr OC-ALC/ITMA
Let me try this again...

Below is a link to the RSP page on Remedy's website. If the link doesn't
work, check to make sure that it is all on one line; you may need to
copy/paste both lines. It ends with '.html'

http://www.bmc.com/education/servicemgmt/Roadmaps/Remedy_Skilled_Profess
ional.html

The RAC page is not public, and I'm not a partner, so I cannot give you
any details on it.

For the RSP, you can purchase everything as a bundle, I believe, and
save money. The link above will show you the required classes.

Re: Price and duration for Remedy RSP and RAC certification?

2007-08-27 Thread Carey Matthew Black
Tarun,

The duration is for the version that you are trained on. (With an
upgraded path from version to version by taking another class.)
Given that BMC is cranking out a new version a year (or about that
fast) and that they only support Current +2(previous current
versions) That means that for a version N training you can expect
about a three year cycle before it is of no interest to most of the
customer base. (And some customers will want N+1 trained people the
day after the software is shipped too.) So one to three years is a
good estimate if you take no further training. But if you plan on one
class a year, then you can keep up with the version release and stay
current from then on.

Cost will very quite a bit, so call up the trainers and see if you can
strike a deal. Note that some partners offer some of the classes for
RSP certification, but I do not know of any who offer all of the
classes.

As far as knowledge requirements

I was once lead to believe that there is an internal must pass
ratio for the classes and the certifications. So to some extent, the
real limit is based on the other people that you are in the class
with. If you know more about ARS than them, then you likely will be
certified. If you have even the most basic programming skills then ARS
is forgiving enough, and easy enough to pickup. ( Do you understand a
If..Then.. Else construct? [Note:Very similar to the previous sentence
in this paragraph, or the one coming up next too. :] If so then you
know all of the basics for the Admin 2, and maybe Admin 3 class IMHO.)

However, putting that idea aside for the moment If your a quick
learner, and have some very basic programming experience, then I would
expect that you could walk in to the first class without ever having
seen ARS, then sit through all of the classes (back to back if you can
get them scheduled that way) and likely pass the RSP test at the end.
( I think a 70 was a passing grade, but I suspect that some have
passed with much less than that from time to time.)

However if your motivation is to really understand what your doing,
then I would think that what Michiel suggested is a better approach to
the process than a boot camp approach to the certification. There
are very few classes that even come close to teaching you like real
world experience can. I would focus on building from scratch, and then
trying to figure out what someone else built from scratch. When you
master those skills, then there is nothing you can not do within the
boundary of this system.

HTH.

Attached file content lost

2007-08-27 Thread Ozcan, Serdar
Hi listers,

One of our users complains about missing attachment content. He can add a text
file to a free attachment field using the WUT, and save the request without
receiving an error. When one tries to open/download the attached file, it can
be downloaded but the content is gone (in fact the file is composed of some
number of 0x00 characters). This happens sporadically. I could not see a
strange thing in the logs.

Server is ARS 6.3 patch 18 running on Solaris/Oracle 10, client is WUT 6.3
patch 18 running on a Windows XP.

I could not find something like this in the archives, and Remedy Support page
is constantly refusing my attempts to search known bugs. Please let me know if
you have ever heard of such a problem, any help is appreciated.

I was just emailing with Courion support with regards to provisioning

** Doug,
We are trying to do screen pops with our VOIP system through Apropos
and we couldn't get it to work with the Remedy Macro. Can you provide
the actual command and macro you are passing to the Remedy Macro? I went
as far as going to BMC and they said it wouldn't work because it's a bug
with remedymacro. I'm also on 6.3 patch 19. I'm dying to get this to
work.

Thanks

MAPI works fine with Exchange 2003

You need a service email account (a profile). If you are using Active

This account needs local permission on the Windows server to start the
email engine service. The account's login name and password are set in the
email engine service properties

Hello,

Can anyone come up with a good reason why the Display name would not
show up on emails if it was set in the email mailbox configuration .
It works fine on our 5.3 boxes. Its seems not to be working at all on

Pattern-matching problems on import

2007-08-27 Thread Bob Rowe
We're having pattern-matching problems while bringing loads of data into the
CMDB on a dev box.

ARS 6.3p20,
CMDB 1.1p4 (I think)
ITSM 6
All runs on Solaris 8 in Oracle 9

Someone on the list mentioned a source of definitions of the numbers that
show in pattern-matching events in a log file and I can't find a reference
to it on Nabble. The reference of interest is $-107$. Can someone remind me,
where that information is?

Thanks in advance, people.

Does the profile prompt you for a password? If so, remedy will not be able to
use the profile to transact MAPI mail. Does hte system cross domains? is there

Is there a firewall block? Has MAPI been configured in the exchange server?
Usually it is not or the FW flolks block it.

receive email via outlook with no problem, the email engine is running

Remedy API

2007-08-27 Thread Sanford, Claire
I sent this out once using the title Remedy Courion and decided I
needed to show it to a broader audience. Hence the Subject line change.

The question in a nutshell is... Will the Remedy API create a profile in
the SHR:People form?

---

Our Security team is in the process of setting up Courion for sign on
procurement and sign on management. They would also like it to create a
Remedy Profile for the new employee.

They just received this answer from Courion Support. Is this true?

I was just emailing with Courion support with regards to provisioning
Remedy profiles. They said that the Remedy API does not support profile
creation, and that we would need to connect directly to the Remedy
database to do this.

ADM:ARSlist Awards 2007: Opening Announcement, 2nd time

2007-08-27 Thread Daniel Bloom
I will repeat this message one more as well,

and I am hoping to get greater response than I have so far

As Founder of the ARSlist it is my privilege to announce the
13th Annual ARSlist Awards Call For Nominations.

These awards were created by me in 1995 to recognize the effort that other
people were putting into the list providing the excellent technical replies
or sometimes mediocre humour, and to provide them an incentive to keep
providing those excellent technical replies (not the humour).

Various groups and companies now sponsor the award plaques,
prizes, and various flying objects.

I am open to those groups and companies now contacting me about
sponsorships for this year's awards.

Special Mention: We thank Kifinti (www.kifinti.com http://www.kifinti.com/
) for being the

Only current Corporate Sponsor, and for always supporting the BMC Remedy

User Community. Although other companies said they would, none followed
through.

Nominations are open for:

*MVP - Most Valuable Poster.
This is the person you feel has contributed the most to the list in a
combination of quality and quantity.
Anyone who has won the award in the last 5 years, BMC or Remedy employees
are not eligible. Sadly, this means that Gidd is eligible again :-)

The Rules for Nomination Acceptance and some General Rules:

* An individual must be nominated by at least two independent sources

* The years postings are somewhat reviewed to ensure that this
is someone who posts quality answers.
( Not that anyone has ever been rejected on this basis)

* Only those that were on the list for the entire year are eligible

* Only those that have registered on the ARSList before
August 1st, 2007 are eligible to vote. It is assumed you won't vote
if you haven't been around long enough to know the posters in question.
in the unlikely event of another tie, the person or product with the
greatest number of sources of votes will be declared winner.

* Voting and nominating is by the Individual REAL person,
so redistribution lists don't vote, and those that have multiple
subscriptions still get only one vote, unless you unethically
get it by me.

Please Note: This means you MUST include your real name and who you work
for,

Not just send me your email address used on the ARSlist, although your email

should come from that address.

* BMCSoftware employees on the ARSlist are eligible to vote,
except for the BMCSoftware Employee Beyond the Call of Duty Award

* All decisions of the oversight panel are final
(if I have to make a controversial decision,
I confer with 4 past MVP winners for their opinion)

* Nominations posted to the list are not accepted,
they must be to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Past MVP [Most Valuable Poster Award] recipients are:
[1995-2001 inclusive are now re-eligible]

2006 Axton Grams
2005 Tim Widowfield
2004 Matt Reinfeldt
2003 Carey Matthew Black

2001 Gidd Calden
2000 Jarl Groneng,Tommy Nijem
1999 Rick Cook
1998 Raymond Leach
1997 Vicky Bayol
1996 Joel D. Sender
1995 Martin Nystrom

*Best 3rd Party ARSystem Utility (Freeware)
*Best 3rd Party ARSystem Utility (Commercial)
*Best 3rd Party ARSystem related Product [e.g. a wireless integration
system]
*Best 3rd Party Application Suite(Commercial)
*Best 3rd Party Application(Freeware)
*BMCSoftware Remedy Employee Beyond the Call of Duty Award

Again, an individual or product must be nominated by at least two
independent sources.

Nominations for other Categories are open for the next two weeks as well.

Nominate a potential winner for the other Category while you suggest the
category if you wish

[no Nominations, no Award will be conferred in that category]

Please send nominations to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Time Line (Late to avoid running this during holidays in Summer):
Sept 9th 8p.m.EST: nominations for MVP closes, other category nominations
close
(if I receive good other categories, the category will be posted in time for
people
to nominate potential recipients)

Since no one has ever turned down a nomination for MVP,
I am dispensing with them having to accept the nomination.

Sept 10th any time zone: Voting begins for 2 weeks for MVP and all other

Categories

Once again, I will be posting more specific voting rules and voting minimums

To maintain the integrity and value of these Awards.

Sept 24th at 8 p.m. EST: The voting Closes for MVP and all other categories
Closes

Thurs Nov 1st 5:30p.m. (date/time subject to change)

at BMC UserWorld 2007:Award Ceremony

[Product Awards are sometimes given out early if the winner has a Booth at
the Conference

[no one knows the winner(s) until then, well okay, except me and the plaque
company]

Please send nominations to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Submitting a record with a read license

2007-08-27 Thread Moore, Chris
Hey everyone-

It's my understanding that anyone with a login should be able to submit
a record without having a floating license. However, I have created a
form and when people who only have a read license try and submit it,
they get an error. Do they need to have a floating license that just
doesn't get consumed? Submitter mode is set to Locked.

Do all of the fields they are putting data into have Submitter ( Change

What error are you getting (it may say what fieldid the error is on)?

Re: Submitting a record with a read license

2007-08-27 Thread Opela, Gary L Contr OC-ALC/ITMA
Yes, in order for a user without a license to submit a ticket, you must
have all fields in which they will be entering data marked as Allow any
user to submit. You must also have submitter mode locked (which you
have).

If you still get errors after that, please post the error message to the
list so we can get a better idea. The messages, although vague,
sometimes can clue us in on what is going unexpected.

2007-08-27 Thread Shellman, David
If they don't have an account (record in the User form), they will be
able to create a record. Note that you need to have the Allow any user
to submit set on the fields as the others suggest.

If they have an account they will consume a floating license but it's
re-released as soon as the Log out. From the Midtier they must logout
and not simply close the browser. If they just close the browser they
will consume the license for the period of time defined by the Floating
License Timeout which is set to 2 hours by default. Most folks change
it to the minimum which is 1 hour.

Hey David- just a follow up to that point. One thing we're looking to
add is a time keeping piece, so people can log into the mid-tier and
record time on a weekly basis. I was thinking that since they are just
creating records, it could be done without using a license- is that not
the case? These are mostly people who wouldn't normally have a need to
open the client, but some are people who work tickets daily.

Thanks for your insight-

Re: Submitting a record with a read license

2007-08-27 Thread Reiser, John J
Gary and Dave and Chris et al,

Submitter mode locked is only needed to allow a guest user (Read Only)
the ability to modify a record created by them.

Allow anyone to submit checkbox opens the field up so no permissions
restrict creation of a record.
Any permissions settings are for View and Change.
The following is assumed:
Submitter mode locked and proper fields set to Allow anyone to submit

Fixed - Create + Modify
Float - Create + Modify(may be blocked if a token is not free)
Read - Create and Modify only the record(s) you created
Read Restricted - Create only

If you turn Submitter mode locked OFF Read and Read Restricted function
the same. They can create records but cannot modify them.

**

Hey everyone-

It's my understanding that anyone with a login should be able to submit
a record without having a floating license. However, I have created a
form and when people who only have a read license try and submit it,
they get an error. Do they need to have a floating license that just
doesn't get consumed? Submitter mode is set to Locked.

Thanks,

Chris

Re: Remedy API

2007-08-27 Thread Carey Matthew Black
Claire,

If it is possible in ARS, then it can be done via the API. (Or a
function of an API client program.)

SHR:People is just an ARS form. It is subject to the same API calls as
any other ARS form. (Submit, Modify, Merge, etc...)

So in a nutshell... can an ARS API client program create a SHR:People
record.. Yep. The User tool does it with the API. The Mid-Tier does it
with the API, and you can write your very own API client to make that
record too. (And any other records that might be needed to fill out
the profile too. However that is not to say that the ARS OOB
application conform to any kind of standard profile, nor does it
have a Profile object or .createProfile() method in the API either.

I think your need someone who understands the ARS API (a C or Java or
ARS Perl Programmer) talking to the System X people so that your
management do not hear things like Remedy can not do that, but we
can when it is not true.

Good luck.

Re: Table Field qualification

2007-08-27 Thread Micheal Gere
Hi Gary

Firstly thanks for your code…I tried to play with the syntax and I think I
am almost there in making it work. I think there is some change required in
the second active link of the guide. Appreciate your help if you can figure
out something.

*Run If: *( 'tmpLocation' !=  $NULL$ ) AND ( 'tmpLocation' !=)**

*Action 1: *Set fields**

tmpQuery = ((($tmpQuery$ +   OR 'LOCATION' = ) +  ) + $tmpChar$) +

*Action 2: *Go To Guide Label**

When I select the value in the LOCATION field = *Toronto** | Houston |
Sacramento |*

Then I get the following result

  tmpchar  =*Sacramento*

tmpQuery = *OR 'LOCATION' = Toronto OR 'LOCATION' = Houston
*

* *

Couple of questions:

   1. How do we get rid of the OR at the beginning
   2. The tmpQuery doesn't seem to get the third value. I looked at the
log and it doesn't fire the Active link since $tmpLocation$ !=

Thanks

Mike

Okay, my suggestion is that whenever the user chooses a location, on

 you choose.

Next, before you do the table refresh, you need to see if that delimiter
is in the location field, if it is, then use substr and strstr to parse
out all of the values in that field and create a dynamic query.

 So, let's say that location = Toronto | Houston | Sacremento |
You would want the table qualification to state: ('Location' = Toronto
OR 'Location' = Houston OR 'Location' = Sacremento) AND

You will need a guide that contains the following active links:
 First Active Link:
Set tmpLocation = $Location$This will allow you to
parse Location without modifying what the user put in the Location field
Call guide below:

 Guide:

 First Active Link:
Set tmpInt = STRSTR($tmpLocation$, |)
This gives you the location of the first | symbol,
assuming you use | as your delimiter.
Set tmpChar = RTRIM(SUBSTR($tmpLocation$, 0, $tmpInt$)))
This will give you your first location, up to the first
 Pipe symbol
Set tmpLocation = LTRIM(SUBSTR($tmpLocation$, $tmpInt$))
This will give you the rest of the location, after the
 first

 Second Active Link:
If $tmpLocation$ != $NULL$ AND $tmpLocation$ !=
Set tmpQuery = $tmpQuery$ + OR 'Location' = + $tmpChar$
GOTO Guide Label Start

Third Active Link: (this one is outside of the guide
Refresh Table field

Then the qualification on your table field will be:
(EXTERNAL($tmpQuery$) AND ('POSITION' =
 $POSITION$))

Now granted, I didn't note in detail everything that needs to happen.
For instance, the first time your active link rusn that sets the
tmpQuery field, you will not want to have OR at the beginning of the set
fields statement. You will also need to put () around your array of OR
statements for the Location part of the query.

Plus the syntax might be off just a bit, you'll have to play with it.
It's been probably a year since I've used any of the functionality
listed above, and I'm just trying to write it from memory.

 Thanks,

 Subject: Table Field qualification

 **
 Hello Everyone

I hope somebody can answer this...

I have a form with the following fields

LOCATION - A character field with a menu append
POSITION - A character field with a menu append
TABLE - A table field whose source form is a JOIN form of employee
location and employee position. This table gets refreshed and fetches
 the
data based on the user selection of LOCATION and POSITION.

Table qualification is (( 'LOCATION' = $LOCATION$) AND ('POSITION' =
 $POSITION$))

Now when the menu is appended and I have multiple values in the LOCATION
and POSITION fields, how would I set the table qualification ?

I am guessing it can be done using some External qualification but not
 sure how ?

Thanks in advance for your time

Re: Table Field qualification

2007-08-27 Thread Opela, Gary L Contr OC-ALC/ITMA
To address the issue of the first 'OR', you will need duplicate active
links to set the tmpQuery field. The first one will run if tmpQuery =
$NULL$, then set tmpQuery = 'LOCATION' = $tmpChar$

The second one will run if tmpQuery != $NULL$, then go ahead and do the
set fields below of tmpQuery = $tmpQuery$ + OR 'LOCATION' =

To address the second issue, you might try changing the Run-If from
If $tmpLocation$ != $NULL$ AND $tmpLocation$ !=
To
If $tmpLocation$ LIKE (% + | + %)

I think this might work, since you will always have a | symbol at the
end of your country strings, even if the user selects only one country.

Look into it and see if it will work. If it won't let us know and I'm
positive we can come up with something.

Eric,

Often support claims that a bug is fixed and it is not in the release
notes for the version/patch that they point at. Which personally means
there is another bug introduced by the release process for not
updating the docs to indicated the bug was fixed. ( And I should not
have to tell them to open a bug report on the bug that they identified
in response to a customers inquiry. )

I encourage you to force Tech Support to open a bug against the
release notes to get the bug identified. If they can not get you a
copy of the release notes indicating that the bug is fixed... then the
customers can not consider the bug as officially fixed by the vendor.
(And we should keep stacking up the bugs to try to get BMC to actually
communicate with their customers the state of the software that we are
paying for.)

Customers want:
Full bug disclosure(details) to all customers using that version
of the software.
Identified break and Fixed points (versions of software) for
each and every bug
Responsive fixes for all bugs (Not just fixed in the next
version and beyond. We are using a supported version then we want it
fixed in the version we are using.)

I checked the generated filters and noticed this qualification on the

The problem is that on the Help Desk form the value 'zD_TADOccurred' is

Hi Emad,

I've found that in SLM 7+, they've re-written how the records are
started. You should have a bunch of filters attached to HPD:Help Desk
that show the start, stop, pending, etc. If they aren't there, you can
regenerate them:

Go to the Application Admin Console, Custom Config, Service Level
Management, Config Application Settings, Data Sources

Click on the HPD:Help Desk entry, then select the 2. Create Filter
button.

Hi,
ORacle 10g
Solaris 10
SLM 7.0.3
AR system 7.0.1 Patch 3
ITSM Patch 4

I tried creating a bunch of SLA's and the correctly attach themselves to
the incident and the status is attached. The problem is they never
move from this status.

I checked the generated filters and noticed this qualification on the
milestone filter:

( 'Status' Resolved) AND ( 'zD_TADOccurred' =
SL221932505200RtLo4wBSSHQABaYA )

The problem is that on the Help Desk form the value 'zD_TADOccurred' is
always null so this filter does not fire.

Anyone seen this before??

Emad

I made the terms and conditions very simple:
Priority = Low.

The start : Status = Assigned
Stop : Status = Resolved

Re: Table Field qualification

2007-08-27 Thread Micheal Gere
Hi Gary

Thanks, the OR thing is eliminated but the last value is not being copied in
the tmpQuery

*Active Link 2 of the guide:*

* *

*Run If: ('tmpQuery' = $NULL$)*

* *

*Action 1: Set Fields*

* *

*tmpQuery = (( 'LOCATION' = + ) + $tmpChar$) + *

* *

*Active Link 3 of the guide:*

* *

*Run If: ('tmpQuery' !=  $NULL$) AND  'tmpArea' LIKE (% + | + %) *

* *

*Action 1: Set fields*

*tmpQuery = ((($tmpQuery$ + OR 'LOCATION' = ) + ) + $tmpChar$) +
*

* *

*Action 2: Go To Guide Label*

When I select the value in the LOCATION field = *Toronto** | Houston |
Sacramento |*

Then I get the following result

  tmpchar =*Sacramento*

tmpQuery = *'LOCATION' = Toronto OR 'LOCATION' = Toronto
OR'LOCATION' = Houston*

Thanks
Mike

To address the issue of the first 'OR', you will need duplicate active
links to set the tmpQuery field. The first one will run if tmpQuery =
 $NULL$, then set tmpQuery = 'LOCATION' = $tmpChar$

The second one will run if tmpQuery != $NULL$, then go ahead and do the
set fields below of tmpQuery = $tmpQuery$ + OR 'LOCATION' =

To address the second issue, you might try changing the Run-If from
If $tmpLocation$ != $NULL$ AND $tmpLocation$ !=
 To
If $tmpLocation$ LIKE (% + | + %)

I think this might work, since you will always have a | symbol at the
end of your country strings, even if the user selects only one country.

Look into it and see if it will work. If it won't let us know and I'm
positive we can come up with something.

 Hi Gary

Firstly thanks for your code...I tried to play with the syntax and I
think I am almost there in making it work. I think there is some change
required in the second active link of the guide. Appreciate your help if
 you can figure out something.

 Run If: ( 'tmpLocation' !=  $NULL$ ) AND ( 'tmpLocation' != )

 Action 1: Set fields

 tmpQuery = ((($tmpQuery$ +   OR 'LOCATION' = ) +  ) + $tmpChar$) +

Action 2: Go To Guide Label

When I select the value in the LOCATION field = Toronto | Houston |
 Sacramento |

Then I get the following result

  tmpchar  =Sacramento

tmpQuery = OR 'LOCATION' = Toronto OR 'LOCATION' =
 Houston

 Couple of questions:

 1. How do we get rid of the OR at the beginning
 2. The tmpQuery doesn't seem to get the third value. I looked at
the log and it doesn't fire the Active link since $tmpLocation$ !=

 Thanks

 Mike

Okay, my suggestion is that whenever the user chooses a
 location, on
menu/row choice, set location = location + X where X is some
 delimiter
you choose.

Next, before you do the table refresh, you need to see if that
 delimiter
is in the location field, if it is, then use substr and strstr
 to parse
out all of the values in that field and create a dynamic query.

So, let's say that location = Toronto | Houston | Sacremento |
You would want the table qualification to state: ('Location' =
 Toronto
OR 'Location' = Houston OR 'Location' = Sacremento) AND

You will need a guide that contains the following active links:
First Active Link:
Set tmpLocation = $Location$This will allow
 you to
parse Location without modifying what the user put in the
 Location field
   Call guide below:

Guide:

First Active Link:
   Set tmpInt = STRSTR($tmpLocation$, |)
This gives you the location of the first |
 symbol,
assuming you use | as your delimiter.
   Set tmpChar = RTRIM(SUBSTR($tmpLocation$, 0, $tmpInt$)))
This will give you your first location, up to the
 first
Pipe symbol
   Set tmpLocation = LTRIM(SUBSTR($tmpLocation$, $tmpInt$))
This will give you the rest of the location,
 after the
first

Second Active Link:
   If $tmpLocation$ != $NULL$ AND $tmpLocation$ !=
   Set tmpQuery = $tmpQuery$ + OR 'Location' = +
 $tmpChar$
   GOTO Guide Label Start

Third Active Link: (this one is outside of the guide
   Refresh Table field

Then the qualification on your table field will be:
   (EXTERNAL($tmpQuery$) AND ('POSITION' =
$POSITION$))

Now granted, I didn't note in detail everything that needs to
 happen.

Re: Wait icon and text while processing

2007-08-27 Thread Watson, Benjamin A.
We have something like that.

When a user submits a report to be processed, we have a read-only
(modal) dialog which appears. Using active links that run on refresh,
we update a series of flat buttons to give the appearance of a progress
bar which moves back and forth. These active links also check the
status of a background form, which the external process is responsible
for updating. When the background form has been updated by the external
process, the dialog closes.

Make sense?

I guess it all boils down to more details. What results are you waiting
for? How are these results being processed? How is Remedy instructed
that the processing is completed?
