I must respectfully disagree, this wasn’t about bashing anyone– to state a
platform on which a candidate is running is just that – no one was calling any
candidate horrible names!

I really think this discussion has turned to a Republican bashing session.  We
Republicans disagree with almost everything you guys have said but there's no
point of getting into it because no amount of discussion will change your
mind.  And that's okay because that's what makes America great - we can
disagree without feeling the threat of reprisal.  It is interesting to hear the
Democratic views and what things you believe but some things are just not true
like the supposed "war on women."  Mitt and Paul do not have the complete
authority to do some of the things mentioned and many Republicans wouldn't go
along with these kinds of things anyway.  But it's okay with me if that's what
you believe, I just don't think we can intelligently debate all the facts when
we are not in the "inner circle."  I think we've worn the topic out and nothing
you guys have said will make me change my mind about Obama and obviously I will
never change your minds about
Republicans so let's talk about something else like animal abusers and trying
to get the death penalty for them.  Just kidding - well kind of.

I got the results back on Smokey today.  He has fibrosarcoma.  Has anyone had
much experience with this type of cancer?  Also, I spoke to the vet about the
black salve and he said I could try it if I wanted to.  I think Natalie was the
one that posted about it.  I need to find out what I need to do to join the
group she spoke about and get some of the black salve.

You ask me to invite you to join the 2053 Googlegroup…..Once you are a member,
you can look through the archives, see success stories where salve was used on
people and animals, get all the info on how to get salve and where to order the
herbs to make the tonic (or buy small amount from list owner). It really is
miraculous – one man’s arm was saved from amputation, a horse’s eye with cancer
saved, many bunny and rat owners are members because those poor little critters
get cancers….
You can actually look salve and tonic online, but they are NOT the same and are
much more expensive….
If you would use the salve as soon as possible, so it can still seep in through
the incision, it would be ideal.  It will come back if it had tentacles and it
was most likely squamous cell….
I would look for someone who may have a colony of cats that are cared for by
someone….the kittens would become tame, though, if given a chance!

I have never heard of this black salve.  Does it really help?  Where can I get
more information on it and the group?  I should get the pathology results back
in a few days.  I have felt a couple of very small knots on other parts of his
body so I am afraid it has spread.  The vet did take out a couple of lymph
nodes too.  I just can't get over how big this one was & how I could have
missed it until now.  The vet told me that this one will come back and he was
afraid it would be pretty soon.  He said there was no reason to try to remove
it or any others because they would just come back.  I plan on spoiling him for
however long he has left.  When he seems like his quality of life isn't good
anymore then I will let him go.  Right now he is eating and playing.  He
doesn't act like anything is wrong.  I am so stressed out right now.  I trapped
a mom cat and her 2 kittens(although they are about 8 months old) and had them
spayed.  I found a
home for the mom cat but I still have the kittens which are feral and I can't
find a home for them.  They came from my work so I don't know anything else to
do but take them back to work and let them

live there & me keep feeding them.  Does that sound terrible?  I just can't
keep them.  Anybody got any ideas?  I won't take them to the shelter because
someone told me they would euthanize them if they are feral.   Now poor Smokey
is sick.  Thanks for your prayers and ideas for Smokey.  I will let you know
what the pathology report says.

Would anyone with a cat or dog that has had cancer removed be interested in a
black salve that would get to the rest of the tentacles that the vet may not
have been able to remove? It’s not expensive, but you would have to join a
group where you would get advice from people who have used it and lots of moral
support, too.  It is for people and animals…there’s also an herbal tonic for
cancer, you get the herbs, brew up the tonic, etc. REALLY WORKS!  In cases
after surgery, the salve would be able to reach the interior through the
incisions.

So sorry to hear about Smokey.  I have a friend who had this with her dog. She had the 1st tumor removed, but it kept spreading. She just kept him going as long as he was still happy & not suffering.

Give him lots of love. He has done remarkable living this long with this awful virus.

Yes the the immuno-regulin worked on Smokey's fevers.
Some vets say the equistim (immuno-regulin)needs to be
given IV but the vet I used said you can do it subq.
It worked for him. I can't remember exactly how many
shots they would fix up for me. I think it was
anywhere from 10 to 12. It cost me around 20 to 30
dollars. I kept them refrigerated. Smokey would have
never tolerated them doing the IV. He hates the vets.
 I hope this will help.

Re: [PHISH]RE: Immuno-Regullin and exercise

2008-02-11 Thread cindy reasoner
I used immuno-regulin on my cat Smokey. He had a
problem with fevers. It wasn't very expensive. I
would give it to him subq and the vet would fix the
shots up for me. I would keep them refrigerated. At
first I did 2 a week. I gradually gave him the shots
less and less. Now he doesn't get them at all. Just
thought I would let you know what my experience with
it has been.

2007-09-28 Thread cindy reasoner
I haven't been able to post in a long time. I haven't
really been able to read any post but today I was able
to read a few. I am not sure what is going on with
this site but all I know is that many caring people on
this site helped to save my precious Smokey. He is
still doing good. I am sorry for any of you that
might have lost any of your babies since I have been
away. We lost our dog Elvis about 3 weeks ago and it
has been very hard. He was 12 years old and had liver
cancer. He had gotten really bad and we had to make
that awful decision to have him euthanized. I took
him a rawhide to eat before the doctor did it. I was
able to spend some time alone with him before letting
him go. I hugged him the whole time and told him how
special he was. We didn't want to see him suffer and
he was getting very close to that point. It was my
first time to go through this. I am so glad now that
I stayed with him until the end.

Re: new here ~ feleuk+ cat with high temp

2007-06-29 Thread cindy reasoner
Laurie,

My cat Smokey had the same problem with fevers. After
many different stays in the hospital and 1 doctor at
my vet's office that didn't really seem like she
wanted to help Smokey I changed the vet he goes to.
The new vet started him on the immunoregulin. She had
me give it to him subq. It says IV but Smokey would
have never let her or me do that. We started giving
him injections 2 times a week for a month or so then
gradually decreased the dosage. Now I give it to him
once a month. It has been well over a year since he
has had a fever. I hope this might help you with
Isabella.

I won't use Revolution anymore. Back in May we went
camping and I took my diabetic cat (Katie) with us. I
used it because I was worried about mosquitoes getting
into the camper. This was the first time I had ever
used it. I know Katie had a reaction to it because
she developed diarrhea. She didn't have it before I
put it on her. Her skin became really flaky too.

I hope your Isabella starts feeling better soon.

Re: IR-sub Q???

2007-06-28 Thread cindy reasoner
Dede, I gave Smokey's IR subq. I know it says IV but
so far the subq has worked with Smokey. Equistim is
what I always got from my vet. I'm glad Wendy was
able to give you the dosage because I gave Smokey the
last shot I had in May and haven't gone to get anymore
yet. I looked at the old syringe last night and his
dosage was around .25 ml. He weighs around 8 lbs.
There is no way I could do IV with Smokey either. I
hope this works for Ki.

Re: need advice quick

2007-06-27 Thread cindy reasoner
I just always got my IR from the vet. She would fix
the dosage in the the syringes and I would just keep
them refrigerated. I never really paid attention to
the dosage. I will look tonight. You and Ki are in
my prayers.

Re: Ki's fever is up again

2007-06-27 Thread cindy reasoner
It is a steroid. The vet gave Smokey this because she
said it would help him to feel better and to feel like
eating. He only got the Winstrol injections every 2
weeks about 3 times. When Smokey first started on the
IR he had a fever. We gave him 2 injections per week
for about a month and gradually decreased it.

Just from my own experience with Smokey. He had high
fevers like Ki and the vet started him on Winstrol to
help him feel better and IR. I truly believe the IR
helped him get over the fevers. I gave it to him
subq. I know it says IV but subq has worked so far

for me to do alot of research. Honestly after working

I am so glad that I found this site. All the info. I
got was so helpful. All the wonderful people on this
site saved Smokey's life. I remember one of his old
vets was talking to me about having Smokey euthanized
but I just couldn't do that. I was so discouraged
because I didn't know what to do. The people on this
site gave me so much support and I really appreciate
all of you. Smokey still is skinny and I wish I could
put some weight on him. He is so active now. He
plays with his toys and gives me love bites. This site
and the people on it are truly amazing.

Re: overvaccination

2007-06-21 Thread cindy reasoner
I have had my cats vaccinated every year but I need to
talk to my vet about it. I sure don't want to take
any chances. Have any of you heard of this new strain
of calici virus? My vet sent a letter out to all his
clients owned by cats. You have to go for a booster
then go back in 3 weeks for the last shot. The letter
said that the cat didn't have to come in contact with
the infected cat. We can bring it in to them. It is
highly contagious and a perfectly healthy cat can die
within days if exposed. My vet was even considering
making it mandatory that all of their feline clients
be vaccinated for this. He told me about a vet in the
northeast that had an infected cat come in and I think
he said that vet's office couldn't have any cats in
there for something like 45 days until they
disinfected the office and were sure there was no more
danger from exposure. I have 8 cats and I just got
through with the 2nd shot for all of them. This
disease just sounded to scary to take a chance. All
of my cats are inside cats. They never go out. I
think where I live (Tennessee)it is a law that you
have to have your pets vaccinated for rabies. I am
not sure though.

2007-06-21 Thread cindy reasoner
I used immuno regulin on my Smokey when he was having
high fevers. The vet also gave him injections of
Winstrol every other week for about a month or maybe a
little longer. The immuno regulin helped Smokey. He
hasn't had a fever since we started him on it (fingers
crossed). I give it to him subq not IV. Smokey hates
the vet so much I don't think they could even give it
to him IV. He gets worst every visit. Now I give it
to him every month or every other month. I did read
hear that I think it is Best Friends uses it every
month on their babies. I think I will do every month
now. That is the only treatment I have used on
Smokey. So far the only problem he has had was the
fevers. I hope this might help you.

Re: Ki still has a fever

2007-06-21 Thread cindy reasoner
Dede,

My cat Smokey was having a problem with fevers about a
1 1/2 years ago. The vet would give him baytril but
his fever would only come back. I ended up changing
vets with him. The new vet started him on
immuno-regulin and winstrol injections. The winstrol
(I think that was the name of it) was just to help him
start feeling better. I think he went every 2 weeks
to get that shot. We only did that for about a month
or maybe a little longer. The immuno-regulin I gave
him at home. At first we started him on 2 shots a
week for about a month or so. After that we went to 1
shot per week and gradually decreased the times he
would get the shots. Now he gets a shot every other
month. He hasn't had any fevers since we started him
on it. I hope this might help with your Ki. I hope
he starts feeling better soon.

I have had a little experience with immunoregulin.
The vet gave it to my Smokey because he kept on

don't know anything about the other meds. Sorry. I
hope he starts feeling better and that he doesn't have

Re: pet-food recall info

2007-05-03 Thread cindy reasoner
I finally got 3 of my cats to eat the Evo. Katie's
(my diabetic cat)true brother Simon was diagnosed as
being diabetic on Sunday so the vet said I needed to
get him to eat the Evo because it is low carbs. Katie
won't touch it but Simon, Nick and Tabby Cat are
starting to eat it now. I can't believe I have 2
diabetic cats and Nick is another true brother so
eventually I may have 3. I am so relieved they are
eating the EVO especially Simon because it is better
for him.

without telling them. Oh, this makes me feel so much

Patti, please don't feel like you are alone. I get
upset too. I get so mad that what we are feeding our
babies might poison them. I have several cats and 2
dogs. Many are on different diets so it seems like I
am constantly rechecking labels when something new
comes out. I just switched the dogs to California
Natural I hope it is O.K. I am like you I do research
and try to find a good safe food but now days who
knows! I am having a problem with getting the cats to
eat anything new. I am going to just continue feeding
them what I have because so far nobody seems like they
are sick. I am keeping my fingers crossed. I worry
about all the food that I am feeding. I know how
upsetting it is but please know that everybody knows
how you feel. Hang in there.

RE: sweet kitty in sw Michigan needs help

2007-04-13 Thread cindy reasoner
Oh, she sounds so sweet and it is so sad that she was
trying to find security in anybody's car! I hope you
find her a home or who belongs to her. I love black
cats. My Thomaseena was black and lived to be about
18 years old. I grew up with her. When she died I
lost my best friend. My diabetic cat (Katie) is black
and she holds a very special place in my heart. Is
someone taking care of her until then? Did you say
she was declawed? It isn't cheap to have a kitty
declawed. You would think somebody cared about her.
I will be praying that you find this poor sweet girl's

Kerry,

I have been checking to see if there is any news
regarding Purina. I haven't found anything on Fancy
Feast, Friskies or Cat Chow. I talked to a lady with
Purina on Saturday and she said that only the can Alpo
dog food was being recalled along with Might Dog
pouches. I can't remember the variety of the Alpo dog
food. She told me there wouldn't be anymore of their
food being recalled because they have checked and are
sure none of their other sites used this wheat gluten.
 I hope she is right.

2007-04-05 Thread cindy reasoner
I have a diebetic cat that is very picky. She won't
eat Innova EVO so I try to buy food that is hight
protein and low carbs. I have found many of Fancy
Feast food work for her and she will eat it. I am
worried about feeding it to her because most have
wheat gluten in it. Any advice?

Re: Dry food recall

2007-04-02 Thread cindy reasoner
I am feeding some of my cats Fancy Feast and Friskies
and the other 3 I am feeding 9lives. Now I don't know
what to do. It all has wheat gluten in it. I was
able to find some Fancy Feast (fish cans) that didn't
have wheat gluten in it. My cats are so finicky they
won't eat the same flavor twice in 1 day. Is there
any food out there that doesn't have this in it. I
feed the dogs Pedigree and read the lables on the cans
yesterday and there are some which don't contain wheat
gluten but I don't know what to do about the cats. I
am scared that by the end of this week Fancy Feast,
Friskies and 9 Lives will be recalled. I do have 1
cat that is on Hills S/D but I read the label and
there is no wheat gluten in it. This is an outrage.
I am so mad that these companies purchase this from a
supplier that used China. I mean China doesn't care
about their animials so why should they care about our
pets! I wish there was someway to find out where they
buy their ingredients at so in the future if any came
from China I would know not to buy it. I did call
Hills Saturday morning and told them that I would
discontinue buying their product if they kept on
buying any ingredients from China. The lady told me
most of the calls they were getting were saying the
same thing. I am going to try to get through to
Purina and Del Monte to tell them the same thing.
Maybe if enough people tell them this they won't do
this anymore in the future. I just can't believe that
your taking a chance with your furbabies life just by
feeding them.

I would like to know who might have bought wheat from
China too. Friday afternoon when I got home from work
I called 9lives and Friskies to ask them this
question. Both told me they don't purchase their

RE: pet-food contaminant found? -Rat Poison -just announced

2007-03-23 Thread cindy reasoner
Here I go on my rant about can't we buy anything that
is made in the good ol U.S.A. anymore? Why are they
buying wheat from China? I know we have wheat in this
country. Oh, I know it was cheaper. I wonder where
companies that weren't on the recall list bought their
wheat. This worries me. Could it be from the same
place?

Re: petfood recall questions

2007-03-21 Thread cindy reasoner
I saw where Science Diet is doing a voluntary recall
on their Feline Savory Cuts because it was
co-manufactured by Menu Foods. I just called because
I have a dog on Hills K/D and a cat on Hills X/D. I
wanted to be sure that Menu Foods wasn't involved in
these foods in anyway. I was assured they were not.
The rest of my crew eat Friskies (Fancy Feast), 9Lives
and Pedigree. This is getting scary. Who knows what
is safe anymore.

Re: Doxy and IR and Epogen, oh my! What to do?

2007-03-20 Thread cindy reasoner
Marissa, My Smokey had a terrible time getting high
fevers like your Slinky. I ended up changing vets for
him. The new vet gave him IR subq. I know everything
says to give it IV but it seems to have helped Smokey.
It has been over a year since his last fever (fingers
crossed). I was able to give him the shots at home.
We started twice a week for a few months then went to
once a week to now I give him a shot every other
month. She also gave him an injection of Winstrol
every other week for about a month or two. The Doxy
and Epogen I can't help you with because I have never
used them. I hope this might help you.

2007-02-01 Thread cindy reasoner
Michelle, I haven't been able to read many of the post
lately but I am praying for you and precious Lucy.
Have you thought about the IR to try to help with the
fevers? I don't know it may not be something she
needs.

Re: Mylo's Passing

2007-02-01 Thread cindy reasoner
Chris, I am so sorry to hear about your sweet Mylo.
We don't want to let them go and yet we don't want to
see them suffer. Your story reminded me of my dog
Shelby when I had to take her about 45 mnts. from home
to see if the University of Tennessee Vet Hospital
could do anything for her. She was a big dog and I
had her up front with me. Her backside was paralyzed.
She just loved the ride down there looking out the
window. In the end nothing could be done for her and
I had to make that terrible decision. It was months
and months before I could drive back by that Hospital.
I know you and your spouse's hearts are broken. You
loved Mylo so much that you put an end to the pain. I
know Mylo appreciated that and all the love you and
your spouse gave.

Re: midnight

2007-01-26 Thread cindy reasoner
If you can tell that he isn't spraying then I would
take him into the vet. He might have a urinary tract
infection and that is something you don't want to let
go. If he is spraying then I would get him neutered
as soon as possible.

Re: Cindy-- what dose IR?

2007-01-22 Thread cindy reasoner
I think the .25 ml. is what Smokey gets. I will check
when I get home today. I didn't notice a spike in his
temp. after he got an injection. IR seems to have
really helped Smokey to not get anymore fevers. It
has almost been a year now (fingers crossed). At first
he got 2 injections a week for about 2 months. Then 1
a week and now he gets 1 every month or a little
longer. No, Smokey didn't have any other symptoms. I
am so sorry to hear that the internist thinks Lucy may
have FIP. I know it can be so hard to try to figure
out what to do next. We all want to do everything we
can for our babies. You and Lucy are in my prayers.

Re: Lucy--what to do?

2007-01-19 Thread cindy reasoner
Michelle, Do you think that immuno-regulin might help
her fevers? I don't know anything about what sweet
Lucy is going through but I know with my Smokey when
he was running a fever he wouldn't eat. I do know
that I was having a terrible time with him getting
fevers and the immuno-regulin seemed to have helped.
I know with all of her other symptoms it may not be
something she needs to be given but it was just a
thought. I will be praying that your sweet Lucy
starts feeling better and you get some answers as to
what is going on with her.

Re: Antonio

2007-01-10 Thread cindy reasoner
Elizabeth,

I am trying to remember which type of crystals Winston
had but I am sorry my memory just isn't what it used
to be. His last bout was back in October. It wasn't
very bad I think I caught it early. The vet gave him
Baytril and valium to help ease his straining. Winston
is very high strung. He will let you pet him only to
turn around to bite the crap out of you. So Winston
on valium made the house alot calmer. I had him on
dry prescription diet Science Hill XD but the vet had
me change to can because can has more water in it
which they said is better for cats that have this
problem. I hope this info might help. After dealing
with Winston, I agree with your vet tech about going
back to Antonio's regular food. I don't dare let
Winston eat anything but his prescription diet because
even when I changed him to Innova EVO he got crystals.
This is just my own experience though. I hope Antonio
starts feeling better very very soon. You and Antonio
are in my prayers.

Re: OT - Help, aggressive cat

2006-12-29 Thread cindy reasoner
I haven't had any experience with an aggressive cat
but I think it is so wonderful that you took her.
Maybe her aggression is from being scared and in a new
place. Poor baby. I am sure she is probably scared
when she has been taken to the vet so maybe that is
why their paperwork says she is aggressive. I know my
Tabby Cat and Nicholas are so sweet at home but at the
vet's office they turn into these cats I have never
seen before. Especially Tabby Cat the vet has will
bite on her chart. She doesn't show that behavior at
home. I hope things get better for you and the new
kitty.

I have started giving him injections less and less.
He gets one every month now. He just got his

When Smokey first started taking the IR he would also
get a shot of Winstrol every other week for about 2
months. The vet said it would help him to feel

Kerry, have you tried using the immuno-regulin? It
seemed to help when Smokey was running fevers. The
vet would tell me he had an infection somewhere but
they never could find it. When I started him on the

Re: Prayers needed for Inky - to Kerry

2006-11-14 Thread cindy reasoner
Kerry,

Thanks for the info. on Hills that makes me feel
better. Saturday they sent off a urine sample for
Elvis to the lab so they get exact numbers on his
kidney's. They think it was caught early because
there was no indication of any problems in his
bloodwork. The vet told me that she went to a class a
couple of weeks ago and they are starting to use a
drug for the heart to help with kidney problems. I
don't know the name or if it is just for dogs but I
will ask her. It is suppose to open up the blood
vessels which helps the kidney function. You may
alreay know about this. I don't know if Elvis will
have to be on it or not. I hope your Inky is feeling
better. Both of you are in my prayers.

2006-11-13 Thread cindy reasoner
Kerry,

I hope Inky starts feeling better soon. Wow, 20 years
old. Sorry, but I really don't know anything about
different diets for the kidney. I am actually just
learning because Saturday I took my dog, Elvis, to the
vet for a checkup and he is showing some signs of
early kidney problems. He is about 11 years old now.
They told me to switch his diet. I got Hills KD but
that worries me because I think I have read here that
Hills isn't that great of a food. I will be praying
that Inky and Bandy start feeling better very soon.

I didn't take her to the vet because she gets really

Madison -fur missing under her chin

2006-11-10 Thread cindy reasoner
I noticed last night that my older kitty Madison has a
some fur missing under her chin. When I looked at it
closer it looked like tiny black pieces of dirt in the
fur that was left. It looked like flea dirt. She
never goes outside but I know we can bring in fleas.
I haven't noticed her scratching. I tried to clean
the area really good. Her skin looked like it might
be a little dry there too. Anybody have any ideas?
Madison isn't felv+.

I wonder if when I had Smokey neutered that could of
triggered his feline leukemia. I don't know right off
but it seems like it was about a month after his
surgery he began running his fevers. We didn't know
he was positive at that time because his first test
came back negative. Gina I am so happy for you and

Re: dirty bum bum - OT (as if it needs to be pointed out)(Chris-sorry so long)

2006-11-09 Thread cindy reasoner
Winston is somewhat better than he use to be. About a
year ago the vet told me I needed to put him on some
kind of psychotic medicine (like Prozac). I never had
the prescription filled. I just didn't want him on
that type of medicine especially at such a young age.
I wonder if some of his behavior may come from being
separated from his mother so young. I don't know
where he came from but late one night we heard the
dogs barking. Winston was on the other side of the
fence thank goodness. He was so tiny and in very bad
shape. I took him to the vet that was on call that
night. He was ate up with fleas and dehydrated. She
treated him and told me he might not make it through
the night. I put a heat pad in 1 of the carriers and
put a towel over the pad and kept him in it overnight.
He made it of course and has been wild ever since.
He is solid black and a couple of months ago we had
our picture made for a local magazine here for
Halloween. He was actually good through the whole
thing.

That is terrible. I didn't realize this. I can't
believe a vet wouldn't ever let Sugar out. I live in
East Tennesee but Memphis is on the other side of the
state.

2006-11-06 Thread cindy reasoner
Don't feel bad. The only reason why I pay attention
to Winston's litter box is because I know he tends to
have this problem. If Antonio is acting better today
it doesn't sound like he has a problem urinating. I
know with Winston he would stay in his litter box,
sometimes I would find a drop of blood and he would
just lay around. If Winston isn't causing havoc in
our house something is wrong with him. Good luck at
the vet. I hope it isn't anything major with Antonio.

My sweet Angel Stinky was overweight when I first got
her and could not reach back there to clean herself.
I would have to take her to vet every 3 or 4 months (I
think) to have her anal glands expressed. Also, my
cat Winston has problems with getting blocked and not
being able to urinate. Has Antonio been urinating
O.K. Winston has to be on a special diet for this.
Hope everything is O.K. with your Antonio.
