Re: CS>Re: Iodine and thyroid and cancer

2016-11-08 Thread ASL raVen
Yes, I have a severe reaction to Iodine, whether in food form or medicinal
form --- I got violently sick. Even ingesting salt with iodine wipes me
out. So, would recommend meeting any thyroid specialist who has
studied Dr Datis
Kharrazian, DHSc, DC, MS work about iodine overdose & explains extensively
in his book. http://thyroidbook.com/

Well worth the read! Thanks to him, from a different doctor that I worked
with who studied Dr K's protocol -- I am back to halfway normal and can now
work part time after so many years of wasted chronic illnesses. Guess,
better late than never.

CS>Iodine and thyroid and cancer

2016-11-07 Thread Jean Baugh
Hi,

There was a very interesting discussion on a goat list (Nubian of course),
about how to treat goats for iodine deficiency, by swabbing the underside
of their tails and checking in 24 hours. If no iodine could be seen,
treat again, or until you could see the iodine color from the day before.
I know goats love iodine salt blocks more than any other mineral.

Fluoride is a particularly dark cloud, even though I¹m not exposed to this
toxic by product. People who are, assume they are safe if they don¹t
drink this poison but the skin is susceptible also and how this genocide
can continue on is beyond me.

Keeping colloidal silver in mind, a brilliant man told me that when he cut
himself to the bone, colloidal silver caused stem cells to regenerate
healing at warp speed.

While there are lot of claims that Iodine can "cure" thyroid and
cancer, the claim is a dangerous over-simplification. Ray Peat warns
that overdosing iodine actually causes the thyroid gland to shut
down.(The Wolff-Chaikoff effect, which is taught to most doctors in
medical school.)
http://www.functionalps.com/blog/2011/10/12/the-myth-of-iodine-deficiency-an-interview-with-dr-ray-peat/

When Peat warns us of overdoing iodine, he may assume that we are
eating his recommended totally PUFA free diet. (Something which is
impossible if you eat any kind of food processed in factories or in
restaurants.)

Ray Peat follower Scott Schlegel explains that iodine intake is
clouded by the excess non essential toxic man-made halogens in our
environment e.g. bromine, flouride, chlorine, which our cells all too
readily absorb, because they too easily confuse the stuff for iodine.
Explained rather clearly in this article by Dr L. Wilson:

Schlegel says that some of us may also benefit from supplementing
with vitamins B1 and B2 (thiamine and niacin).

it's an orphan generic at this time, but that may be changing as advanced
trials and patents are underway for new use.
yes, it's Rx, but dirt cheap generic.
so, to be legal and safe with dealing with the medical industry you must
have a prescription. doctors willing to go a tad outside their boxes and Rx
an off-label use can be hard to find in many areas, although LDN awareness

many just buy it offshore in 50mg tabs. one tab lasts over two weeks.

Hi PT,
Thanks for sharing your experience in using the zppaer to cure Hashimoto's.
I have Hashimoto's thyroid disease myself and have been searching high and
low for a cure
for it to no avail- I want to be drug-free but it hasn't happened yet.
I'm trying to understand how the zapper works exactly because I am severely
disabled (coma-like naps for 8 to 9 hours a day) when I get off of my
thyroid medicine. How did you tolerate the reduction of medicine dosages...
doctors are not that supportive to get constant TSH blood lab test on
frequent basis (due to insurance). How did you avoid they hyperthyroid
symptoms?
What zapper did you use, how many times did you use it per day, and what
cost is it. Does health insurance cover this device?
Do you still have to use the zapper to keep the Hashi symptoms at bay?

I would really love to learn more as I'd so want to get off of the drugs and
be healthy again.

Kindly,

RaVen

the zapper is worth a try but don't waste a lot of time with it.

if you get onto a couple LDN yahoo groups and put hashimoto into the search
function of groups Files area and message archives you will quickly see that
LDN often oiver time reduces or eliminates the need for thyroid meds while
correcting lots of things often unanticipated or previously unknown.

LDN for:

cancer
lupus
psoriasis
thyroid
RA
MS
dementia (helps my mom immensely, like turning back the clock a couple years.
fibro
crohn's
IBS
UC
etc, etc, etc.

super safe, non-toxic, cheap, and available with a long and growing history of

many just buy it offshore in 50mg tabs. one tab lasts over two weeks.

I sent this earlier but it mustn't have gone through.
You can get naltrexone (called Naltima) from the offshore source,
alldaychemist.com without a prescription. Then, by putting one tablet in a
bottle of 50 ml of distilled water and shaking, you have just made
low-dose-naltrexone.(actually better than dealing with a compounding pharmacy
where sometimes other fillers are added) Most people start with just a drop of
this LDN (one ml), and slowly work up to perhaps 4.
alldaychemist.com is reputable: many of us have used them in several groups.
The prices are low, shipping costs a bit high and delivery is at least 2 weeks.
They don't take credit cards; just money orders now.Their products are all
excellent quality.
Be well,

it comes in 50mg tabs only. Rx compounders make smaller doses from bulk
powder, or some might grind up tabs and add filler.

the usual way is to dissolve one tab in 50ml Distilled (or RO) water. then
1 ml of liquid = 1 mg naltrexone.
keeps in the frig for over a month, or room temp for up to a month.
mix it in a dark bottle with a dropper in the cap... use the dropper to put
it in a baby med spoon' which has lines marked in ml.
mix into any drink or have it straight down... slightly bitter, not very bad
taste at all and doesn't linger long

Yes - I am against biopsies - there is reason to believe
that they get cancer cells into the blood stream (if the
nodules are cancerous), which then grow into new tumours
(metastases). If on the other hand the nodules are benign,
the biopsy is unnecessary.

I in your situation would either ask them to take the
whole nodules out, or not touch them at all.

See www.cancertutor.com for an extensive study of
cancer theory and cancer diet.

I keep a lump in my breast under control for 12 years
now, with the approach of Dr. Hulda Clark. It has a
sound theory and for me it is working. All her work
is in her books - no need to pay a fortune for treatment.

I usually work closely together with doctors, both
school medicine and alternative, but in case of this
lump I keep it away from them. There is much discussion
that the school medicine approach harms more than it helps.

Marshalee -
What kind of a biopsy are you talking about? Is it a fine needle biopsy?
And how large or small are the nodules?

If it is fine needle biopsy. . . have you considered getting an ultra-sound
and blood test instead? Also, join the Iodine list and ask Stephanie the
owner/mod for her advise. It helps greatly to surround oneself with a
knowledgeable support team both the allopathic and alternative fields of
health. The more the better, and then you can make up your own mind as to
alternatives you want to choose for yourself. If you can shrink them which
is very possible, all the better. I was able to do this with a nodule in my
left lobe with Iodine, Selenium, D3, Vit C, and Nature-Throid.
Unfortunately, I didn't know about any of this for my right lobe. If they
are growing, consider seriously, that you might require immediate medical
attention. Look up Dr. David Brownstein and call his office.

You may also want to get on the iodine list at yahoogroups.com...much of

You may also want to get on the iodine list at yahoogroups.com...much

CSQuestion on thyroid (autoimmunity)

Hi All,

I just received word from my endocrinologist this morning that I have
antibodies in my blood that's attacking my thyroid. He stated: autoimmune
thyroid disease. At this point in time we're not sure whether I have Graves
disease or Hashimoto's because my numbers (T3, T4 etc.) have been up and
down within the last several months (and several blood tests). We're waiting
for 6-7 weeks to go by to test again with my not taking any supplements
(including Lugol's and kelp which he believes may be the culprit as far as
going back and forth).

Needless to say, I'm concerned as the last thing I'll do is have my thyroid
removed - but he also mentioned that my body just might do it on its own
anyway. So, has anybody had any experience in this at all?

Currently I'm on an MMS1 protocol of 15 drops - 2x a day (I felt that my
body needed cleansing as I'm quite sure I've had rampant Candida). I also
have been taking some oregano oil and EIS for a sore throat which is just
about gone now. I do take EIS everyday ( an ounce or two just because).
Has anybody had any positive results with using MMS1 and fixing their
thyroid autoimmunity problem?!!??!?! Should I add MMS2??!?!?!

Please, I'd like very much if anybody can tell me if there's a way that I
can get my thyroid to function properly and get rid of these antibodies. The
Dr. said that IF it were to happen it would take months (and the tests are
extremely expensive and insurance will cover the 1st one but may raise
questions down the road) to see any difference. I'm a member of the Iodine

Re: CSQuestion on thyroid (autoimmunity)- musings

2009-11-02 Thread Clayton Family
If you are hyperthyroid, then your heart rate is probably elevated,
and that may be bad if the rate is too high for too long (over 100).
Iodine can cause hyperthyroid in some as the iodine can be stimulating
to the thyroid. Good if one is hypothyroid.

MMS is not a nutrient- it is a potent chemical that seems to have it's
uses, maybe it will help your candida, but it is NOT a vitamin or
nutrient of any kind. I would be quite careful with it. Oreganol has
been used for candida as well, and again, it is not without side
effects if used too long.

I do not know if the endocrinologist's understanding is correct or
not. There is a very normal fluctuation of numbers, you would have to
look it up to see if yours are normal or not. Maybe you can correlate
them with what you have been doing, esp if you keep a log.

Antibodies are produced in reaction to something- that is what keeps
us from getting the same thing over and over again, like measles,
chicken pox, etc. We normally have antibodies to many many things
floating around in our system, at least that has been my
understanding. Is it possible that the MMS is provoking an immune
response in some way? Humble's writings may shed some light on this
question. I assume you have read all of his stuff on MMS before taking
it.

If you are getting rid of mold in your system (that is what candida
is, basically) there are all kinds of reactions possible until it is
gone and the herxing is over.

Of course, nutritional support in the form of lots of green veggies,
and even juicing veggies won't hurt, and often helps nearly everything.

IMO, autoimmune disease occurs when your body doesn't have enough qi to
support itself, so it starts to break down. This is why the antibodies are
attacking itself.
You should try acupuncture. My girlfriend has Hashomoto's Thyroiditis, and
they put her on synthroid. I gave her an herbal formula which is helping her a
great deal.
Roughly speaking, the thyroid in Chinese Medical terms is spleen qi, and
somewhat also kidney yang. It's something we can definitely work with, using
acupuncture, and/or herbs. QiGong too, which is free once you learn it.

==

Lisa,

I'm one of the most do-it-yourself people around. However, I can tell you
from personal experience that thyroid disorders are among the few conditions
that one should NOT self-treat.

The situation you describe, where you're alternately hypo and now possibly
hyper, sounds like it might be an autoimmune condition affecting your
thyroid. In autoimmune conditions, the body attacks various tissues. In
Hashimoto's thyroiditis, an autoimmune condition affecting the thyroid,
there are two sets of antibodies that the body has produced.

Metagenics makes two nutritional products, one for each set of antibody
markers, to help stabilize and overcome the autoimmune component of thyroid
disorders. It's reasonable to assume that the presence of mycoplasma and
other bacteria without cell walls (or other genetically engineered
pathogens) inside the tissues have caused the body to attack itself.
However, whether CS would help can only be seen with experimentation, as the
CS must touch pathogens in order to work. I'm not sure CS could reach inside
the cell wall to a transformed microbe; does anyone know?

Supplementation with the proper thyroid hormone is paramount. An article I
wrote an article on Hypothyroidism Type 2 was published in the December 2008
issue of Townsend Letter. While it does not address autoimmune problems of
the thyroid per se, it will give you enough information so you can see how
complex the situation is. You can read the article here:

http://www.nenahsylver.com/holistic_health_hypothyroidism.html

There are other articles you can link to as well about the thyroid gland.

Before I see an endocrinologist, I would ask what success s/he has had with
natural therapies, and if s/he has used any nutritional supplements in
combination with thyroid hormone-and also what types of thyroid hormone are
being used.

Good luck. Let us know how you fare.

Thyroid supplement in hypothyroidism. It is also said to be a
general hormone balancer. But there is not a lot of clearly
defined information. You just have to get on some of the lists

On the other hand...
My wife was diagnosed as hypo-thyroid.
Her doctor wanted her to take synthroid.
She researched the side effects and decided no way!
Instead, she took a natural, organic hormone recommended by Jonathan Wright
(Naturoid or something like that?).
This gave her some scary chest pains, so she discontinued it.
After more research, she took between 1 and 2 tablespoons of virgin coconut oil
per day.
After a few months of this, her thyroid test was back to normal.
She still takes a teaspoon per day for maintenance.

  ==

  Lisa,

I'm one of the most do-it-yourself people around. However, I can tell you
from personal experience that thyroid disorders are among the few conditions
that one should NOT self-treat.

The situation you describe, where you're alternately hypo and now possibly
hyper, sounds like it might be an autoimmune condition affecting your thyroid.
In autoimmune conditions, the body attacks various tissues. In Hashimoto's
thyroiditis, an autoimmune condition affecting the thyroid, there are two sets
of antibodies that the body has produced.

Metagenics makes two nutritional products, one for each set of antibody
markers, to help stabilize and overcome the autoimmune component of thyroid
disorders. It's reasonable to assume that the presence of mycoplasma and other
bacteria without cell walls (or other genetically engineered pathogens) inside
the tissues have caused the body to attack itself. However, whether CS would
help can only be seen with experimentation, as the CS must touch pathogens in
order to work. I'm not sure CS could reach inside the cell wall to a
transformed microbe; does anyone know?

Supplementation with the proper thyroid hormone is paramount. An article I
wrote an article on Hypothyroidism Type 2 was published in the December 2008
issue of Townsend Letter. While it does not address autoimmune problems of the
thyroid per se, it will give you enough information so you can see how complex
the situation is.

Hi Lisa,

I became hypo-thyroid in May 2007...Had saliva tests to confirm it,
began taking this glandular (with thyroxin removed):

http://tinyurl.com/yg6r5fz

Then I discovered high-dosage iodine (brand name is Iodoral) and worked
up to 75mg of Iodoral a day...and had to stop taking the glandular in a
period of three months.

You have been given the link to the iodine and thyroid list, but I will
repeat it here:
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/iodine/

Stephanie was running the list, it has very high traffic, but very good
information.

The high dosage iodine has significant benefits for the entire body,
including detoxing fluorines, bromines, chlorines.

Highly recommended...and I know that our fearless leader was doing this
as well.

Kind regards,

Craig

Hi G
May I suggest that you go to an Endocrinologist, an excellent one at that.
He/she will order up a thyroid panel and an ultra-sound. Both will provide
indications as to what is happening with your thyroid. Could be you just
need thyroid meds. Could be something else, so don't wait to get these
simple and painless tests. Sore throat means take it seriously and 'do it

http://www.lewisford.info/files/The_Basic_Program_from_Feeling_Young_and_In_Love3.pdf
is a pdf document which has information about Thyroid and iodine as well as
a lot of other subjects. 124 pages set out in the paper saving mode I
favour.
I found it in a link from the website
http://www.iodine4health.com/overviews/uses/ford_uses.htm

Quote and mention in despatches: If you are ... ever unfortunate enough
to develop shingles, the best
supplements for treating it are the same supplements that
best suppress and control the herpes 1 and 2 viruses. That
includes Lysine, dairy products, Iodide, Progesterone,
Thyroid Tissue, Thymus Tissue, Mild Silver Protein
solutions, Colloidal Silver, and/or St. John's Wort.

http://www.iodine4health.com/overviews/uses/ryan_drum.htm had info on
Thyroid function, dysfunction and disease. Links to page
http://www.ryandrum.com/thyroid1.html which says Unlike Hashimoto's
hypothyroiditis, Graves' disease seems very amenable to successful herbal
intervention and control. The three main herbs used are: Melissa officinalis
(lemon balm), Lycopus virginiana (bugleweed) and Leonuris
cardiaca(motherwort) in descending order of strength and apparent
thyrosuppressive efficacy.

http://www.ryandrum.com/thyroidpart1.htm says

11. There is an especially vicious class of endocrine disrupters that have
become ubiquitous in our human environment. These substances have been used
to improve our lives. They are: flame retardants, resorcinol-based glues,
and MBTE gasoline additive s used to boost octane after tetra-ethyl lead was
banned.
The flame retardants, Poly-bromated di-ethyl ethers, PBDE's, were mandated
for children's pajamas, bedding, stuffed toys, etc.; they are also in
motel/hotel bedding, curtains, carpeting (all wall-to-wall), and upholstered
furniture. They are present in all water, soil, and air. They are especially
concentrated in mammalian milk, in particular human mothers' milk. They are
thyrodisruptive and pass transdermally from clothing into infants and
children. It is the regular 8-12 hour constant contact with a child's
epidermis which allows the unavoidable slow accumulation of PBDE's. ...
Resorcinal, Dihydroxybenzene, has been used therapeutically as an alleged
starting molecule for catechols. Industrially, it is used in the production
of Rayon and Nylon, and the superb resorcinol/formaldehyde glues,
particularly in plywood, chipboard, and sawdust composites for fake wood
furniture.
As these products are abraided, scuffed, cut, or broken, tiny amounts or
resorcinol polymer dust particles are released into our living spaces and
are inhaled, where they rest on mucous membrane surfaces where nano amounts
are continually absorbed and may be thyrodisruptive. ... . The
effects of resorcinol on human thyroids is still being investigated.
I believe these resorcinol-sourced particles may be a significant factor in
the increasing thyroid epidemic, particularly in the countries where the
most resorcinol has been used.

Gasoline additives are being breathed by all of us. Many are
thyrodisruptive.

http://www.ryandrum.com/thyroidpart2.htm said: There is increasing
evidence that the unshielded thyroid gland is susceptible to longterm
developmental damage and disease subsequent to one
exposure to diagnostic dental or chest X-Rays and perhaps CAT scans

And http://www.iodine4health.com/overviews/uses/panam_uses.htm says
24. Vegan gas. reducing the gas from eating beans! Macrobioticists have know
for
years that cooking beans with seaweed reduces bean flatus. If you're soaking
beans before cooking them, add 1 or 2 drops of Lugol's, and let them soak
for an hour or more. Pour offf that water before cooking, and add fresh
water. You'll be surprised at the reduction in resulting intestinal gas!
(Technical explanation: There's a naturally occurring enzyme inhibitor in
beans which interferes with starch digestion in the gut, producing gas.
Lugol's inactivates this enzyme inhibitor.)

Hi Gayla,
I 100% agree. There are so many protocols out there
that claim to cure this and that, but if true, we
would no longer have those illnesses still around.

My thoughts on the water is that it is a good thing
for constipation especially to drink first thing in
the morning. Kind of like flushing out everything
before putting anything else in the colon, and it
really works.

When combined with salt, I have found the minerals
in
the salt along with the water does go a long way
with
pain issues. Probably because some pain is more
from
dehydration so drinking a lot of water would help.
Now will this cure arthritis? Probably not, but if
one is dehydrated along with having arthritis, then
it
should help.

I really do not know whether my thyroid is sluggish or overactive. All I
know is that I feel lousy without the medication.

I get a lot of exercise working in and around my house, but I like to walk

Hi Faith,

I was wondering if you still had your thyroid? I was on the synthetic for
years and didn't feel good. For me, it was like there was something missing. I
think I am one of the ones with Wilson's temperature syndrome. I feel a lot
better on the Armour. It comes in different dosages, so the amount is measured
in some way. I was probably getting too much because of taking the Thytrophin
PMG also. There is a product called Prolamine Iodine. I don't know if that
would help you or not. Is your thyroid just sluggish?

I think that MD's always want to go for the synthetic. It seems they are
taught that way or something. My doctor actually made a face when she said
Armour like it was disgusting. But synthetic is not natural to the body. Your
body is not synthetic and may not get all it needs from it. It might keep you
going but not in an optimal way, in my opinion.

When I first got a tumor on my thyroid I was living in Germany. My husband
was in the military. I was having extreme problems I won't even begin to get
into. Anyway the wonderful military medical system said I could wait a year on
getting treated until I got back to the states. And, that is exactly what
happened. At my lowest point I was getting no sleep at all. I was up 24-7 for a
long, long time. When I asked to get something to sleep the doctor gave me a
sugar pill (he actually told me this afterwards). I guess he thought the
insomnia was all in my head. I didn't know what to do so I started running a
couple of miles a day. If I had it to do over again I would have went to a
German doctor. I thought I would tell you that because if you increase your
exercise that might help jump start the thyroid a little bit.

Re: CSRe Armour for thyroid

2007-11-04 Thread Paula Perry
Hi Faith,

I was wondering if you still had your thyroid? I was on the synthetic for years
and didn't feel good. For me, it was like there was something missing. I think
I am one of the ones with Wilson's temperature syndrome. I feel a lot better on
the Armour. It comes in different dosages, so the amount is measured in some
way. I was probably getting too much because of taking the Thytrophin PMG also.
There is a product called Prolamine Iodine. I don't know if that would help you
or not. Is your thyroid just sluggish?

I think that MD's always want to go for the synthetic. It seems they are taught
that way or something. My doctor actually made a face when she said Armour like
it was disgusting. But synthetic is not natural to the body. Your body is not
synthetic and may not get all it needs from it. It might keep you going but not
in an optimal way, in my opinion.

When I first got a tumor on my thyroid I was living in Germany. My husband was
in the military. I was having extreme problems I won't even begin to get into.

I was told that the synthetic thyroid replacement resembles the human body

Last week my doctor reduced my dosage from 0.025 mg to 0.0125 mg, or half of

I actually have 40% of a Thyroid they didn't take it all. I was put on
Synthroid for years and years. Over the past month or so, I got switched to
Armour which is natural. I also was taking several tablets of Thytrophin PMG.
After having a blood test a few days ago my doctor now says my thyroid is

Hi Paula:

Yes, I still have my thyroid. Today someone told me that the body will attack
and kill the thyroid which is why some people have to take thyroid meds. I do
not understand this, but this is not the first time I have heard this. It
seems odd to me.

I diagnosed my own thyroid problem in a way, because I read that if your normal
body temperature is low ( mine is 96.6) this was indicative of a thyroid
problem and the usual blood test would not disclose it.. So I had my blood
drawn and sent to a lab in California for a different test and the results said
that I do have a thyroid problem

After that it was a problem getting on the right thyroid med. I guess it has
been a problem for 11 years. But I know that I feel lousy after a few days
without levoxyl. And I am now wondering if I've had a thyroid problem all my
life and did not know it.

The lower dose seems to be working for me right now, but I will

The Mayo Clinic has a great website that has good info on
Hyperthyroidism. A family member of mine has this problem, so we have
been through it from the medical point of view. Maybe you can google
it.

Are there alternative treatments for it that work? It can be fatal, if
it is severe, so it is worth being careful if it really is
hyperthyroidism.

I am extremely sensitive- I have a small reaction from taking it- due to
the mold damage and extreme sensitivity.

So, I get a reaction when I take too much. I started with one dropperful of
10 ppm, once a day, then increased it when I felt like it, every few days
or week or so. Now I am up to maybe 2 1/2 teaspoons a day. When I was
first looking this up, I found one MD who is using it for his asthma
patients and others too, and he said to start small and go up from there
(not to me, it was in an article).

But my reaction to that was nothing compared to the herks from taking the
diflucan- that put me in bed for 3 weeks, even at the tiny dose I was
taking, one pill 2 times a week. I had a major infection that was killing
me.

Everyone told me there is no way out of it- when you are infected by mold,
you have to bite the bullet and then deal with the reactions as best you
can. Having a detox protocol is very important.

I am also interested to hear what others may have to say about silver and
mold, since the mold has been such a major problem in my life.

Hi, Rowena, Thanks very much for all the helpful information and websites
about mold. I am wondering if the mold in my house is a dangerous kind since
I am not sick in the usual ways described. This is what puzzles my doctors
so much that I am not in severe pain, although it approaches severe in my
right abdomen when I waken during the night to go to the bathroom, but it
does not usually keep me awake. I go right back to sleep after the bathroom
trip. I think I will call the County Health Nurse about this and see what
she has to offer re diagnosing the type of mold present in my house. This
whole area used to be a swamp I am told. The railroad bought the land years
ago and drained a good deal of it. Actually just one house east of mine,
the land was still a swamp until a couple of year ago. Migrating water
birds would stop there and we could enjoy the sound of frogs croaking in
spring. The whole area has now been drained with varying success. A
neighbor across the street from me had his basement flooded recently due to
some malfunction of the main pump used by the town to keep the water levels
low. A nursing home has been built on a higher portion of that ground. I
am told that you used to be able to row a boat from the closest town to the
west , to Gibbon where I live. You have given me some good starting places
for research. thanks again. Ruth

Further to that, Ruth, I did a bit of research in case I could find the

to it will be posted there too. For more information, contact the New York

1993, originally to develop policies for medical and environmental
evaluation and intervention in cases of Stachybotrys atra [chartarum]

3. Follow developments in research and make contacts. Go to a mold
conference now and then, or read in the professional literature on current
research, to be sure your information is up to date. This will also make
people more willing to talk to you; you can put yourself on a grapevine if
you have recent news to swap. (As far as I know, there are no extension or
college courses on coping with mold, except perhaps in the historical
preservation field.)

4. Study real situations. Even if there is no leak to be found, water can
enter a building through porous building materials, including concrete. It
may enter as water vapor and condense and collect in hidden places. There
are many esoteric ways for water to enter a house and feed mold. They are
hard to understand without some kind of hands-on experience or a good
teacher or a couple of really good books. So study is unavoidable.

Re: CS Huggins/thyroid Ruth Carpet Mold/Just a thought

2007-03-26 Thread ruth strackbein
Hi, Vwolf, My bowel tends to flop over on itself. The diagram of my large
bowel that the Dr. who did my exam of my large bowel with a scope, drew a
diagram of my bowel in his report. That looked like a piece of rope or
something when you throw it down any which way. The curves did not cross
over one another, but just showed a long wavy line in the general shape of a
normal colon. Wavy is the right word for it. One X-ray showed a corner of
it completely flopped over on itself. If it does this very often, it's no
wonder things don't go through. But I guess I still feel that with changes
to diet, medication, etc. it should be possible to overcome this without
surgery. That X-ray was taken some years ago and I have still continued to
struggle along. Guess , to some extent, its a matter of possibly exchanging
one struggle with another, and nobody is guaranteeing a completle cure. I no
longer have either an appendix or a gall bladder. Was told removal of my
gallbladder would be 95 percent certain to remove all my digestive problems.
Instead, they are worse, if anything.
About the ileocecal valve, I have run into info about pressing downward
and to the right over the area where it is supposed to be which is supposed
to cause it to open up. I do this during my ab massages morning and
evening. It doesn't help consistently, but that may be due to some of my
interventions. I will give the pineapple juice in glass bottles a try. I
haven't done that before.
This right sided pain is from the ileocecal area to the right side center
of my ribcage. I am being told that the left side is possibly the area
where things get slowed up and the pain in the right side is from material
trying to get through, including gas. Thanks again, all of you. Ruth

2007-03-25 Thread marmar845

The digestion problems can be caused by fungal overgrowth either by
candida or maybe by aspergilllus or another fungus. There have been
several bad ones found in the gut of sick individuals, so it is hard to
say which it might be. But a good antifungal will kill them all, so it
is not important which species. What is important is rebuilding the
natural flora of the gut and supplementing with some vitamins to
correct the likely deficiencies that will have occured due to the lack
 of good digestion.

When you speak of a good antifungal, what specifically are you referring
to? A prescription drug? Something from the HFS? Thanks. MA

Diflucan, which he says is like a magic pill for fungus and candida,
and is very well tolerated with few side effects.

Now that I have more faith in myself and my abilities to treat myself,
I would look other natural antifungals. I am using my homebrew
colloidal silver for that reason. I have heard of others, like wild
oregano oil which appears to do the same thing. The point being how can
we get well if we are infected systemically with fungus infections? My
private theory (well I guess not any more) is that as the fungus gets
more extensive it puts out chemicals or compounds that supress our
immune system which allows it to spread farther and faster. I have
heard from some sufferers that they have had fungus identified in
tissues that had to be taken out surgically, in many different areas of
the body, including the organs, such as lungs, uterus, colon, sinuses
and even the brain. I can't think of another explanation, and many
biological systems work in that way. The biology of the whole thing
gets very wierd, IMHO.

I don't know what the HFS is.

Hahaha, HFS = health food store. I have such a problem figuring out all these
letters that I usually google them and get an internet slang page. Don't think
you'd find this one though.

I finally had to chime in here. I had a similar symptomology that
looked for all the world like hypothyroid, but was not. My thyroid

My temp used to be very low. When I got the fungal infections
addressed, and dealt with the candida too (combo of diflucan and
supplements), also got rid of the toxins in the home, my temps
normalized, my blood pressure normalized, and I started feeling better
too.

Thanks, Kathryn. My house does have a mold problem. Actually, I doubt that
it is altogether curable, the house, that is. There is apparently an odor,
also, so my grandchldren tell me. I don';t notice it, but have lived here
since 1988 so have probably got used to it, though I don't remember ever
noticing it, but I don't remember alot of things. I am currently
researching a site called www.doctorsresearch.com about vitamins, especially
natural vitamin c . I really don't think removing my large colon is going
to solve all my problems and my doctors doubt that, too since the pain is
right sided with sharp pain under right center ribcage and more of a burning
down in the ileo region. Both extend along the right side of my abdomen with
none on the left side, for the most part. I am not sure what to do about
the house. Can' t spend alot as I am low income level. The answer may be to
move into an apartment. I am wondering about even that since this whole
area is prone to dampness and mold. The last radon reading I had was
slightly high. Since then I have had a beaver system put in which has
elilminated at least gross moisture in the basement. Cement walls and floor
have been dry since then. I also haad cracks in the walls sealed. have not
had a radon count since then. Probably should do that. However, the
original carpets are still in the house. Thanks again for your reply. Ruth

Re: CS Huggins/thyroid Ruth Carpet Mold

2007-03-24 Thread Rowena
Ruth, I really don't like the thought of you having the same carpets that
have been down since before all the damp problems. Mold, dampness etc. are
like poison.

I can't vouch for this story, though some of you may know about it. It was
told to me by a friend, and concerns somone living in America.

A family with a very expensive house, all the extras, experienced flooding.
The insurance company didn't want to pay up. While the arguing was going
on, the family continued to live in the house, and the son and husband
became ill. On a plane trip the wife happened to sit next to an expert in
mold. Later, she decided to call him in to examine the house. They were
told to get out of the house immediately, and not take anything at all from
the house with them, as there was a very bad kind of mold there. The son
improved in health, but the husband is permanently damaged. I may not have
full or correct details, but that is the gist of it.

If anyone has a link to the full, correct story (there could be a transcript
of a TV program or something) I'd like to have it.

Best wishes
Rowena
