Hi Jewels,

you may be referring to me in your email below - I am/was an MYOB consultant,
use Macs myself, although most of my work is with the Dark Side.

It would be best if you contact me on my mobile, 0439 388 669, so we can
discuss this more efficiently. (Preferably later in the day if that suits you)

My opinion is that it should not be particularly difficult - the functionality

No problem Jewels,

Obviously you have already tried the "simple" step by step instructions for the
MAC on <http://help.myob.com.au/ae18/mac/new_features_7.001.htm> I cannot say
that I am surprised that when you actually try to implement this it is not as
"simple" as they like to make out - unfortunately it seems to be a standard
marketing tactic to try and sell all these things as quick and easy and reality
ends up being a bit different.

Hopefully someone else on the list may have some real experience of this - good
luck.

Cheers

Hi Neil,

Many thanks for your detailed email and you have done well to accomplish
what you have achieved so far.

Problem for me is that I work for myself - my biggest client (who is also a
friend) has a large roofing company and employs around 13 guys, so that
definitely puts me in the category of having to be on this new STP system
unfortunately. I have spent hours on the phone to MYOB who flatly say there
are no webinars for training for Account Edge. They have suggested I do the PC
version, but have been warned it will not help me set my Mac up for this - I
guess only to gain an understanding of the system in general. They did put me
onto people who could help, but when I called them I was told they had no
experience in Mac, so that was a waste of time.

Every year I pay Mac for the upgrades and their support and have been told
this webinar will cost $150 (for the PC training). When I speak to anyone at
MYOB, they do not appear to have any experience in MYOB. I am most definitely
not a happy person about this.

I have tried all the alternatives you suggest, including the MYOB
community, without success. I recall a few years ago a member of WAMUG sounded
as though he had good experience in MYOB and was hoping he would pick up my
initial email and respond. Sadly, I cannot recall his name though.

I’ve been using MYOB for years and work alongside a firm of accountants who
also use MYOB, so I cannot really move to another system. Also, I really do
not have time on my hands to learn a different system before the end of this
month.

I guess I’ll continue hunting for someone to assist me. Many thanks again
for taking the time to reply to me Neil.

Re: MYOB datafile question

2012-05-01 Thread Curtis Peter
Hi
Being a MYOB user since the early 80's, I was dismayed the other week to find a
problem with the internet re-registering of the program. Every so often (about
4 months I think) the program needs to contact head office via the internet to
prove that it's legal, or alternatively I believe you can telephone to do it.
I was doing my bit with the accounts of a social/service club when the program
decided that the re-registration was not approved, and I had to phone MYOB to
sort things out. This was (at the time) impossible, let alone inconvenient,
even later having to track down receipts, code numbers etc. when not expecting
to have to do so again. Then going through the process of telephoning MYOB,
going through many and various voice prompts and finally waiting to talk to a
real person.
He did fix the problem immediately with full apologies, something to do with
the introduction of Lion he said, and would probably happen once more in four
months time (I think)
I know it's not the fault of the person on the line, but he is my only contact!
I told him that I wasn't satisfied with the situation. If they had a problem
with the re-registration then it was their problem, not mine, and should have
made it open slather to all in sundry until they fixed their problem. Not
inconvenience every one their own customers. I told him that by the time I next
had to register via telephone call I would probably have transferred my
accounting program.
As it was, I was already playing around with another accounting program and I
am now in full change mode.
The fact that for reasons beyond your own control, you can lose access to a
program that you have purchased, let alone the data you have produced, is just
not good enough.
I will make sure that any other programs I buy will NOT be continuing
registration ones.
Regards
Peter
p.s. I always buy the programs that I use! But having had my fingers burnt on a
few occasions, like to trial first. Any program I look at has this facility
available.

That's my rant anyway!

However, MYOB have provided a Windows programme, AccountEdge Partner

Hi Curtis,

I have had the same problem since upgrading to the MYOB 9.6 - I have
over the past few years had to call in to re-register and I am still
using Leopard, so I doubt if it has anything to do with the fact you
are using Lion. It would appear, as you say, a problem of their making.

Hi again Walter

Your accountant only needs to get it (if he hasn't already got it) if
you decide to upgrade to AE v11.

If you are happy with v7, then just stick with it. He quite likely
has Accounting Plus/Premier v17 which can access your data file.

There may come a time when the accountant will say you gave to upgrade.

Hi Jewels

If you are not already a Partner with MYOB, as Bookkeeper or Certified
Consultant, the I would suggest that you become one. As a
Bookkeeping Partner, the cost is not onerous I am fairly certain
that you get access to the latest releases as they are released. You
also get priority phone support amongst other benefits. Certified
Consultant is more expensive but still not onerous if you are running
a business.

Mac Vers 8 will open PC Version 18 without updating and so on.
 So
 in
other words, if you give the accountant MYOB

I don't have any problems with the few accountants (from
 different

I hope that all makes sense ?

Re: MYOB datafile question

2012-04-30 Thread Alex
Hi Walter

The latest version of AccountEdge, v11, is not compatible with any
Windows version of MYOB AccountRight. The cross platform
compatibility ended with AE v9.x / AR v19.x.

However, MYOB have provided a Windows programme, AccountEdge Partner
Edition v11, for their partners, ie accountants consultants, which
allows them to access their clients' Mac data files if they do not
have a Mac themselves.

Hi Walter,
Yes; I just send mine as a data file and my accountant can open it and
modify/amend it.
He might have some MYOB software at his office which lets him do this, but I
don't know.
Also other accountants can do the same.

I've seen a problem before with MYOB files on Mac that couldn't be opened
(after coming back from a stint on a Windows PC), and this was the work
around.

Basically in the Open dialog box, there was a selection for file types,
using the one that says 'All readable files' allowed the MYOB file to be
opened normally.

Re: MYOB Problems with MacPro laptop

2011-07-18 Thread cm

Hi Robert,

The answer may lie in the log files which can be accessed in the Console.app

   Applications Utilities Console.app

But before going down that road MYOB is definitely responsible. I can't quote
the actual law (in Canada it's the 'Sales of Goods Act') but if you sell a
product that does not perform the function for which it is designed the
purchaser is entitled to full refund. The accountant probably doesn't want a
refund but I think he should be more assertive with MYOB.

However, if that is not the path he wishes to follow, see if the log files
offer a clue as to why the app isn't launching. What version OS X does he have
and is it a standard install -- in that has he installed any exotic apps as yet?

Cheers,

Re: MYOB cross platform

2010-06-13 Thread Glenn Nicholas
Chris,

Used to use MYOB on Mac (with book keeper/accountant on Window) - now
use Saasu.com, a hosted (software-as-a-service) accounting system.

You give your advisers a special login, no need to send files all over the
place.

This is an excellent accounting option for small business. Doesn't cost
anything to use the trial version, and very modestly priced when the full
version used. Many features, but best of all is how easy it is to use.

AccountEdge(Mac) and if so does it just need an extension change or zipping
 etc?

Does anyone know if the network versions of either AccountRight or
AccountEdge can be used with both Mac and Windows clients – the manuals only
talk about clients from the same platform, they’re not specific, surprise!

I know nothing about accounting but does anyone send their MYOB files to an
accountant and if so is it just the data file that you send or do you do an
 export?

Thanks for any info on this as MYOB’s site isn’t too helpful and reviews
 seem to overlook these details.

 Chris.

Thanks for that Glenn. Definitely something I¹ll look into and perhaps
suggest as an option.

It seems MYOB will be offering something in that space too with their soon
to be launched liveaccounts although it will be version 1...

Just make sure you use AccountEdge, NOT FirstEdge. FirstEdge cannot recognise

Re: MYOB cross platform

2010-06-12 Thread Julie Bedford

Hi Chris,

I use MYOB Mac from home and also MYOB Win in the office. My
understanding is that as long as the most current programs are being
used (for Mac and Win) - these files will work on both pcs. This I
have been told is the latest MYOB capability between the two PCs.

In my own experience, I have put the Win MYOB file on the Mac, opened
within MYOB and have gotten an identical file. The same applies the
other way around (however, I personally have not had the need to
transfer Mac to Win - but my accountant assures me it functions
correctly on the Win) You do not need to change the extensions.

Copy the latest Backup zip file, say on a thumb drive and place into
PC and open again within MYOB.

I do not know about the network versions, but would be surprised if
they did not function in the same way.

I hope this is helpful

MYOB AccountEdge V9 - Network Version

2009-10-18 Thread David Moyle

Evening all,

Just chasing some advice.

I've been helping a friend who is helping a mates business.

1 x Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Server
2 x Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Client

The server is doing very basic, Time Machine backups, afp shares and
print services.

They are also moving up from MYOB V8 to V9 using NetworkEdge. We have
installed NetworkEdge on all three computers. On the server we can't
use the System Preferences pane to start FileConnect. It doesn't work
for some reason, under Console it gives us an auth error -60031(I
think). Very odd.

If we goto:
/Library/Application Support/FileConnect/FileConnect.app
It opens and starts serving, that not so much of an issue although it
doesn't seem to be serving correctly? On client computers the server
comes up but the program locks up when you click on it and it
eventually reports there was a connection issue (~2 mins). Although
directly on the server it works correctly.
I forced it to use port 5 and defined it with ipfw and then the
Firewall service with no luck.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

David Moyle

Re: MYOB Backup Query

2008-11-09 Thread Alex Novakovic

Hi Daniel

I am glad to be able to return the favour and give an answer to this
one!

It is a bug in this version of AccountEdge. It is due to the
installer not giving the correct permissions to the MYOB AccountEdge
v8 sub folders and contents.

Solution:	Locate the AccountEdge 8 folder do a Command I on it to
see the Get Info stuff. Expand the Sharing Permissions if it is not
already expanded.
Click on the padlock on the bottom right corner of that box to
unlock it and enter administrator id password if requested.

Change all users to have read AND write permissions.
Click on the sunflower icon to the left of the padlock and choose
apply to enclosed items.

Click on the padlock to lock it up again.

All is well again.

This is a problem only if you choose Backup All Data. If you choose
Backup Datafile Only, it will create a successful backup.

Further to this, I agree with a couple comments made re using other
backup methods. I always recommend doing a straight copy in the
finder from HD to a USB thumb drive thingy or whatever they want to be
called these days. For some/many users, if this is their only back
up, and they do not direct it elsewhere off the HD, then if their
computer is irretrievably damaged/lost, they have no backup because
MYOB's default backup location is on the hard drive! Also with a
straight copy, the file is not compressed, so it is a straight copy
back if needed.

I have recently started to do a MYOB backup to the hard drive as a
secondary backup and in the situation where I have just done one or
two transactions.

MYOB will be fixing this up and sending a patch out eventually.

Cheers, Alex

MYOB Backup Query

I have a client with MYOB version 8 (current version). When they open the

If you watch the Finder/Desktop very carefully, you can quickly see it

Hi Daniel,

Instead of creating the .zip file, can you Copy the Data File and save
it to an external HD or Flash Drive?

Does if make any difference if you go to FILE menu in MYOB and select
BACKUP. The Company File Backup dialogue box will appear.
Have you tried selecting the option back up all data and check the
file for errors.?

Seems like something is going wrong with the actually 'zipping' of the
file.

Like you I don't use MYOB, so I don't know much about it.

Thanks Rob, yes tried different accounts, tried different external drives,
both Firewire and USB. Neither a separate account, or other drives made any
difference. So ruled all that out...

Thanks Ronni

Yes, I can copy the data file to a drive, which is what they are doing now.
Also, doesn't make a difference whether we do it from MYOB telling us to
Backup, or from the menu backup. Also checking for errors and compressing
(I think) the data file comes back saying all is good and no problems found.
The file itself gets reported as all be fine. It's just the backup zip part.
But yes, I agree it's something in the backup file.

What about ditching MYOB's backup system and just relying on a general

I am a MYOB user and I don't do their backups any more - I use
SuperDuper to 2 partitioned external firewire drives - one at a time
and the other off site - and every other night to the one partition
and every month to the other partition.

Thanks Dudley. Yes, they are backing up with Time Machine and just
dragging the file to another backup device as well. So it's being backup,
no problems there. But thanks for that.

Just one of those annoying things really. Although there are other ways to
do it, it's useful to know why it's not doing it, and to try and get it
working like the software is meant to.
Looks like they may have to just backup the other ways and maybe something
will turn up at a later date. Will see if I can flick it off to MYOB as
well, just so they know.

Thanks all for the replies. At least I know I tried everything. (Well I
think I did) :o)

Thanks again all for the suggestions.

Re: MYOB

2008-09-25 Thread Alex Novakovic

Hi All on this subject

I never recommend that users move files between computers on a regular
basis - if you can avoid it. Most people are not as organised as you
are Susan, and invariably the time arises when a user gets distracted
or rushed, forgets to take a backup for work on the other computer,
gets there, thinks that they have, continues to work on the file.
This may happen a couple or more times before you become aware of
missing data. That is where the mess arises. I just don't think
that it is worth it unless you really have to, especially if you are a
person who is not regular and up to date with reconciling bank
accounts, as this process helps find errors/messes.

Stuart's idea of using an external drive is good although it may have
limitations where more than one person is involved in the data entry,
if one person wants to keep working on the file in one location after
the other person has gone (who wants to continue at home for example).

Kyle's suggestion of using Dropbox: I have no experience with it but
I would be EXTREMELY careful using this method as it may not work with
a MYOB data file. I would test it very vigorously before trusting it -
do one or two transactions, note them down exactly, do your Dropbox
thing and then check if the transactions have come across. That is one
scenario. Another would be to do two transactions in one file, two in
another, then try the Dropbox thing and see if they are all together
in the merged file.

Myob some time ago revoked the multiuser status of AccountEdge but but
it can still be used in multiuser mode. Martin: multiuser means ONE
data file, more than one computer (although you can have more than one
business file).

Stuart: I have seen variable results in WIndows Premier performance -
it is not all bad, some are good and some are slow despite all efforts.

The next year will probably see some big changes in the MYOB programme
- I think it is being rewritten - and should result in a leaner,
meaner MYOB!

there about improving performance of MYOB across a network and the
results are not great. We had a customer spend heaps on gigabit
network equipment for minimal improvement. The only way to get good
network performance is to run on a Terminal Server setup (Windows)
or similar for Mac.

AccountEdge will let you work on the data file from 3 computers at
the same time across a network. I have a few customers with this
configuration. With FirstEdge it is a single computer product. Even
with FirstEdge you can have the data file on one computer, and open
that from another computer on the same network- obviously only one
computer can have it open at a time. Again I have customers doing
this. It is important to note that MYOB will not support this
scenario, but they don't need to know. We recommend you keep regular
backups and also regularly optimise the company file (once a month).

In a nutshell, you can keep the data file on an external drive (even
a thumb drive if it is not too big) and open it on different
computers, or you can copy it between computers. You MUST keep track
of it though, because if you do work on the data file on one
computer, and then do work on it on another computer, but forget to
copy it first, then you CANNOT merge the changes. If that happens
you CAN export the data that has changed and import it to the other
data file, but you must know what it is that has changed. In MYOB
you can export pretty much export/import everything (sales, orders,
card files, inventory etc). I've had to do it several times. Because
of this I prefer the single data file on a computer or the single
data file on a removable drive of some type.

Martin, rather than have the MYOB data file on two separate machines
you could either have the data file/s on a mobile external hard drive

You may even be able to have it on your iPhone?

Hi Martin

You could try using Dropbox http://www.getdropbox.com/ It will let
you synchronise your files across multiple computers. Looks good so
far only been using it for a week

But it should allow you to send the database file to two different
Macs keeping both files up to date at all times

Re: myob

2008-09-23 Thread Susan
Hi Martin, I'm using MYOBs AccountEdge on different computers. I just
bring the data file across to the machine I'm currently working on -
sometimes even email it to myself, and it works as normal. I'm not
trying to sync it, of course, I just make sure I have the one with the
latest updates with me. It could be on an external hard drive.

I'm not sure what the person meant when they said there 'will be a
mess' - that just sounds silly. I've been doing this for years. The
data file doesn't get corrupted by moving it to another machine.

cheers, Susan.

2008-09-23 Thread Glenn Nicholas
Martin,

If you had the same file open from two computers at the same time, and
made changes .. maybe there would be problems.

But as Susan says, if you makes changes on one computer, close it and
make changes on another, there shouldn't be an issue.
Our MYOB file is used on our Mac, goes to the book keeper for a
Windows holiday, comes back updated and back into service on our
computer again. No problems, the same file works on Windows and Mac.

But trying to use MYOB files in 'multi user' mode would be a different matter.

Glenn.

Re: myob (answer to susan and Glen)

2008-09-23 Thread Susan
Hi Martin, that would involve trying to merge them, and that's what
would result in a mess - unless the file is on a central server which
is accessible by the workshop and the office, and IS NOT BEING USED AT
THE SAME TIME IN DIFFERENT PLACES.

In other words, the same file needs to be used in both cases, it won't
work if they are using different files and then try to merge them.

cheers, Susan.

Of course well written software would tell you that this was needed. Confirms
to us MYOB users what we have known for years.

Anyone considering MYOB should also look into the charges for upgrades before

Hi Martin

I use have used Accountedge on many macs over the years and I have had
problems moving to a new mac from time to time.

As I recall, the problems have had 2 solutions:

1. Run MYOB as an administrator which MYOB, bless 'em, have
recommended in the past. Not sure if they still do.

2. Adjust the permissions on the MYOB folder - get info on the
folder. Mine are all set to Read Write on my Intel mac running
leopard.

To get this simple piece of advice out of MYOB, I had a stand-up fight
with the telephone support who knew the answer to my problem but
refused to give it to me unless I paid for a year's support.

BTW have just switched to Leopard and there might be some printing
problems which so far I have worked around as I recall by sending to
pdf file.

Funny mob MYOB. If I didn't need payroll I would consider Moneyworks
from Cognito in NZ. Dudley

Hi Tony

For starters, make sure you have Quicktime v4 or newer in case
something has changed there.

Secondly, you could reinstall AccountEdge, choosing the repair option
and thirdly either reinstal your email programme or get a newer version
if there is one.

If you still have no joy, feel free to get in touch with me.

Parallels and MYOB question

2007-08-21 Thread Rod Lavington
Hi All!

Is anyone here running MYOB through Parallels? We have to, thanks to MYOB's
lack of networking for the Mac in the latest versions of Accountedge.

We seem to have a low disk space problem. MYOB comes up with an error of
low disk space (less than 59meg left). When you go to Windows Explorer, the
drive has about 15gig of free space (in Windows), while the mac side has
about 120gig free.

Anyone encountered this peculiar error?

Seeya

Rod!

Hi Rod

sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

The following is some feed back to a new solution which I have not had
any firsthand experience with.

Netleverage is offering a software only solution for small networks -
requires a Windows PC running XP with 1GB RAM. They talked me through
setting it up on my home network (1 laptop, 1PC and 1 G4 Mac) - took
about 1 hour woe-to-go and I have my client's file working on all
three machines (including the server ) and even without the 1GB of
Ram, and using a wireless network, I am able to change item codes on
existing items instantaneously where it took at least 30sec for each
one on the client's network the other day. They will allow 30 days
free trial - the base price (around $1500) will allow 3 concurrent
users and you can purchase additional users.

This was from someone in NSW I think. There is a website
www.netleverage.com.au. If you want more info from the user, I can
chase it up for you. There is also MS Terminal Services but that is
quite pricey I believe?

Call me if you wish to discuss anything. What version do you actually
have at the moment?

Cheers, Alex

I think you are being very unkind to MYOB, John. In my experience, a
large percentage of business owners like the work they do but really
dislike doing the books. In the good old days we could all afford to
send our stuff to accountants in the shoe box and not have to think
about it. John Howard put paid to that when he introduced GST and
forced us to do the books, as we should have done from day one if we
were running a business anyway. I know many accountants told their
clients to computerise or else go walk - they just would not have been
able to handle it.

MYOB was quite probably the first business accounting package that
really made it affordable for small/medium businesses to do their own
thing. What used to cost $4-5,000 was reduced to about $400 and later
on even less for small/simple businesses. The main thing is that the
user is trained in a manner that they understand, not how the trainer
wants to present it. As an example, I recently helped a lady to set up
her husband's business and was training her in it's use. She was
carrying on the whole time and I had really thought that I had lost
her, but I kept calm and tried to show what she needed from her point
of view using her work flow. A few months later I got a surprise email
from her thanking me for my perseverence and stating that she thinks
MYOB is the best thing since sliced bread! (I think that's a bit
debatable:)).

So I am sorry you have had a bad experience with MYOB, but you
certainly do not need to be a trained accountant to use it! Actually I
know of some who can't use it themselves!! but that is more to do with
their technophobia, I think.

Cheers, Alex

Re: MYOB Premier to AccountEdge?

2006-11-26 Thread Holipac
The Lacie drive (just an external HDD with an Ethernet connection) is
connected to our network (plugged into router), and we connect to the
network either view network cable or wireless. We then mount this
disk as an attached drive (SMB), and can then open the .myo file
(single user at a time, we don't have a multi-user licence).
Accessing the disk is noticeably slower via wireless, but still quite
Ok. MYOB has a delay when first opening the data file, but otherwise
works fine.

The AccountEdge data file is either single user, in which case it
can reside on the user's machine and only one person can access it
at a time, or multiuser (comes with licence for 3 users) in which
case MYOB have said the data file must reside on a separate drive.
Glenn has kindly informed that he has the data file on a network
attached Lacie drive. So three users with three Macs could share a
data file on an external drive (and not require an extra Mac). I
have not thought of that solution myself :( and no-one has
suggested it so far to my knowledge from around Australia! So
that's a good one Glenn!!

Just to clarify that, Glenn, when you say a network attached Lacie
drive, do you mean a drive attached directly to the network or
attached to the Mac which is attached to the network?

AccountEdge is one of the very few instances that I know of where
the Mac community have come out on top price-wise. Premier with 3
user licence is being sold by Officeworks for $1495 while
AccountEdge is priced at $595, which is the price for MYOB's
Accounting Plus (single user, with Payroll). So while many may be
using AE in single user mode for Payroll purposes, we do have the
ability to expand it to multiuser (3) for no extra cost - unless
it is true that MYOB have dropped multiuser for Mac (probably due
to lack of interest?).

If you don't want/need to track invoices received, you could use
FirstEdge (~ $149). Still allows you to send out invoices. Otherwise
AccountEdge which has invoices out in, payroll, inventory.

Re: MYOB Premier to AccountEdge?

2006-11-25 Thread Holipac
I ran AccountEdge with the data file on the same iMac, no problems.
Subsequently I now have it on a network attached Lacie drive. So
three users with three Macs could share a data file on an external
drive (and not require an extra Mac). There was indeed an upgrade
process to the datafile, it ran for some time on two separate files,
however I suspect it was to do with an upgrade to v6.0.1 (the version
shipped on disk) from the downloaded version (available for 30 day
trial).

Re: MYOB Premier to AccountEdge? The End

2006-11-25 Thread Alex

Well here it is straight from the horse's mouth:

Account Edge version 6 multi-user issue
===

We wish to advise that we are no longer selling network
licences for MYOB AccountEdge. This applies to all versions
for both new and existing customers. Existing customers
can however continue to receive support for their product
over a network.

MYOB recognised that we were not providing an ideal network
solution in MYOB AccountEdge due to limitations in its
response time over a network, which is why we have come to
this decision.

We are still committed to providing software solutions to
MAC clients and we will continue to assess market demand
for a MAC network solution in the Australian market.

Please ensure that you do not promote Account Edge as a
multi-user solution to potential clients and ensure that
they are aware of this information.

Other important points to be aware of:
* AccountEdge v6 is not compatible with Mac OS8 or OS9.
* AccountEdge v6 works on Intel chipped Macs running
  Rosetta(OSX emulation).
* MYOB is working on an native Intel solution for Macs
  at the moment.

Current clients of MYOB AccountEdge should contact
MYOB Customer Support on 1300 555 123 with any questions
or concerns.

Not so cheers, Alex

(but where there is a will there may be a way)

to be on a hard drive that does not belong to any of the users' Macs
(this is different to Premier where it can reside on a user's
machine). Therefore 3 users require 4 Macs. The data file is cross
platform compatible and only needs the Windows extension of .MYO to
be included in the file name to be openable by the Win programme.
There is no upgrade that takes place. There is no known way of
migrating the customised invoices etc to the Mac or vice versa.

I have seen an email this evening which claims that MYOB will be
selling AccountEdge as a single user programme only in future but
have not been able to confirm this yet. They would of course honour
Premier to AccountEdge multiuser migrations.

Cheers, Alex

All your data is retained. The file format is readable by Mac and
PC, so I just send off my data file to my accountant, and they load
it up under Windows.
When I switched to Account Edge, I just opened up the existing file
... there was some kind of automated upgrade that took place, but
after that the file is still readable on Mac and Windows.

Customised forms didn't make the conversion - so invoices that were
setup as form layouts had to be rebuilt. Perhaps an expert could
have migrated these.
The functionality is basically the same - book-keepers who haven't
used Account Edge before just sit down and use it.

Glenn.

We currently run Premier MYOB on the PC. Can I import the file
into AccountEdge on the Mac? Are there a lot of things we lose in
the process? Are Premier and AccountEdge quite close in features?

MYOB themselves don't seem to be a lot of help at the moment :-(
