Well, be careful. RSM infers the 5000 series, in which
case you'd be correct; the Catalyst 5000 series Sups only
run the CatOS.
On the 6000 series, though, you can run "Native IOS" mode
on the whole box; both the Supervisors (the "switching"
side) and the M
> 1. What does the process Layer 3 switching refer to?
"switching" has become a convuluted term.
"switching", in marketing-speak, means "fast" for all
intents and purposes.
Thus, "L3 switching" is "fast routing".
Have fun.

Actually, the total bandwidth depends on the line coding and framing on a T1
circuit.
b8zs with esf gives you 64k per channel
use ami with sf (sometimes called d4), and you loose bandwidth to signaling,
so you just get 56k per channel
This is the way I learned anyway..I could always be wrong
Hi
Consider the following setup:
|--Internet
|
Upstream Provider--Router A
|
|--Router B
Consider Router A to have two links (1 and 2) to the upstream provider and
also Router B to have two links to the upstream provider (1 and 2)
Would it be possible to route traffic
