Unfortunately, SNA traffic is not going anywhere. SNA isn't exactly a bad thing. The general thinking of most companies is to, rather than drop the protocol and hardware, use technologies such as DLSw+ and the such to keep supporting SNA. Do a lot of work in the field, and you're bo

Re: Juniper

First of all, Juniper has an oc-192 interface that actually does oc-192 and that will still do oc-192 with an access-list on it. Cisco doesn't have a true oc-192 card yet. They have OC-192 optics with an engine 3 forwarding engine so it can do about 2.5Gbps, that's before applying ac

As a side note, it seems that Juniper's success seems to lie within their ASICS. I'm not positive, but I believe this offloads cpu cycles from the core processor to each ports ASIC, kind of like high Cisco's high end switches work. Like the cat5k for example. I believe Cis

Actually, the total bandwidth depends on the line coding and framing on a T1 circuit. b8zs with esf gives you 64k per channel use ami with sf (sometimes called d4), and you loose bandwidth to signaling, so you just get 56k per channel This is the way I learned anyway..I could always be wrong
