The Pismo battery is very easy to dismantle and reassemble with no damage, just peal one sticker and squeeze the white plastic pieces with a screw driver, to close it just press both parts together. The cells are easy to replace for someone with a soldering iron. We just need to find a source for

RE; yes I think you are right the battery is spent,reduceing the temp.before chargeing really only helps once in a great while,its sort of the last thing to try before replacement,but its a trick that has saved me from throwing away several units that just decided to work some more after all.
