Is there a way to get my Mandrake 8.1 laptop to see my Windows desktop using
NetBEUI? Can't use TCP/IP at the moment because the desktop's ip is assigned
via the cable modem.

( my notebook doesnt travel
I just did that..added:
TRUSTED_IFACES=lo eth2
noting changed.
and yes I restarted the network on both machines.

Anyway, I tried configuring the bastille-firewall.cfg with the notes in this

NIC to the adapter in the wall ( the adapter then adpats it to a regular phone

If I got you right ,, I think all i have to do is set the W2K machine
when trying Mandrake control center connection sharing ( the first screen )
there is a note saying:
Note: you need a dedicated Network adapter to set up a local area network
(LAN)
I guess I do need 2 NIC's !!

I have a (PC with Win98 on it and will install LM on it too ) + a Notebook
that dual boots Win + LM. The notebook has an NIC connected to DSL internet (
no DSL modem just an Rj45 running from the NIC to the wall , with an internal
IP 10.x.x.x
I closed everything and used the restore session next time option, logged out
and in againthey are GONE .
