gear oil it originally had but the modern stuff is not only O.K. , it's better

It's been a _long_ time but I found some Rustoleum in an older paint store that
still had the 1970's vintage Rustoleum display rack with pretty much every
color they make ~ I'd google " Rustoleum paint
colors " to get the P/N you want , then begin calling paint and
Were they ' Y.O.M. ' registered ? .
If so , you'll need to research the DMV to find out what forms they'll need to
release then .

Be smart and buy a nice epoxy filled 1.5 or 1.6 Ohm coil , maybe an Accell and
paint it gloss black , you'll love the long zappy sparks ~ I use one on on my

I shoulda bught that '54 Pontiac Hearse way back when , @ $600 it was out of my
reach tho' , I had to make do with my '54 Ponitac Super Cheif , it was lovely .

The tip of the rotor button *must* line up with the # 1 plug wire in the Dist.
cap when the timing pointer is aligned with the triangle (NOT the BB) but ,
since it's a gear drive , folks often dropped it in
any old position .

I was surprised but pleased , they looked terrible with many old coats of
peeling paint but where solid so I bead blasted & powder coated them , they
look fine and work well plus hold the original hub caps fine .
I'm still waiting to see the pictures of them .

Only use distilled water with your coolant mix , I recommend a 40 % coolant and
60 % distilled water mix , mix it outside the vehicle then add it .
overheating also means it's time for another valve adjust .

In fact , a buddy just gave me the original Delco AM Radio out of his '68 GMC
Stepper as he's building it into a Hot Rod .
I want the AM-FM one , it's a '70 & newer in pickups , also used in G vans for
many years

The radio plays okay ! .
Oh what fun it is to ride in my rusty CHEVROLET ! .

No ;
As long as you pre primed them by setting in a container of clean oil overnight
before installing them , they'll be fine .
Do expect some clattering until the engine is up to full operating temperature .

Luckily , 235's are a dime a dozen anywhere in America so I'd just go buy some
junk one and scavenge the bolts from that .
