I just picked up the plaques for the SR2K man-on-man
spring series. There will be ribbons awarded for the individual
race classes this Sunday as always.
There were plenty of entries in the 48 inch foamie class
so their plaques are a tad larger and they will be awarded

and have a ground based scanner(in the impound) at your event to insure any

To begin, the following comments are regarding combat
in So. California and not Slope Racing.
Yes, the glass elevon will make the foamie fly better, but think
of it this way. Most of you do not own your slope. All your
pilots MAY have AMA, but if AMA knew you were flying
combat with glass

safety, simplicity and sportsmanship in slope racing, not
combat. The people that are objecting 1) are misinterpreting
them, 2) are a minority, or 3) don't belong in those beginner
classes anyway. The foamie classes are being developed

I destroyed a couple of gliders in the 80's trying to learn by
myself, no club or instructor. They were balsa kits, something
like the Gentle Lady. Knew nothing of CG, incidence, or
washout. Even turned a foam Spirit of 76 into 10 pounds of
5 minute epoxy.
