Also, I noticed there is now an option for a subfilter but I couldn't

You can create filters that operate after a main filter has selected out a

I.e: take all messages where the TO is [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Then apply a (sub)filter
and several sub-filters like this:
If A
If B
If C
If D
If E

The advantage (aside of clarity) is that sub-filters for conditions B,
C, D, E... will not be checked at all unless the If A filter triggers
(condition A met) first.

Normally, when I create filters they apply to the specific account in
which they were created. Later when a correspondent sends a message to
that account it is filtered properly, assuming I have set the filter
up properly

Thanks for elaborating on your possible use of my idea.

I read him by clicking on the MailTicker, and then I have to hunt the
message down, in one of two other inboxes, since that message didn't
come in to the account that filters him to his folder.
Not a really big deal, but multiplied by several, could get

is a good idea.
I don't know if it is really necessary to have a configuration option
for the state of a single tickbox, really. After all, creating a filter
requires a bit of attention right from the start, and I think now that
you're aware that you can create common filters that way, you'll
get mail from friends to all of them; in fact, friends
for some reason will copy all three on the same e-mail even though
they know all three are on one little laptop here. I've set up filters
manually for them by copying them one by one, but it would indeed be
nice to do it your way, and I'll

Thanks for your input, Richard.
Fortunately for both of us, using common filters doesn't
a bit of attention right from the start,
ASK and I think now that you're aware that you can create common
ASK filters that way, you'll remember to check that tickbox. ;-)
Your point is well taken. Now that I am aware of how to do this, I'm
sure that's the way I'll create most, if not all
