Hi Phil. I think I figured it out - at least partially. It's the ethernet jack. If I touch the ethernet jack metal frame with my finger, hum is gone (or goes heavily down - I guess it needs to be measured). It becomes even more obvious if you unplug the ethernet cable and touch the frame then.

Yeah, I think you got a bum unit as Phil suggests. I just tried all Touch outs into my AVR, cranked volume 100% on both Touch & AVR (nothing playing, obviously), no such hum while tapping Touch's ethernet jack. I do get a consistent hum with Touch's headphone out in this scenario, but I believe

I tried skipping between 24/96 tracks on a PS Audio DLIII and noticed the loss of lock briefly during the transition. No audible click or pop that I could detect. Skipping between 16/44.1 does not exhibit the same behavior. Just wanted to add my findings to help support existence of the bug. --
