Yep it certainly looks doable. All it needs is a UI now! The problem is
the now playing screen is already pretty full of stuff, it would either
have to be redesigned or an additional screen be added, OR it put
somewhere else. Then there is the question do you want it in the webUI,

Yes, the lock indicator starts flashing. (flashing means thar the input
freq is out of range for lock)

You can't. SQLite is only supported in 7.6.

You can, but then you're stuck with the Now Playing screensaver at
'screen off' and have to dig through the screensaver settings to

There are several lyrics plugins, but I'm guessing you are talking about
the one called just "Lyrics" ?
If that's the case, the web page of the developer seems to indicate
that you also need to install the "Lyrics" applet through the
"Settings/Advanced/Applet Installer" menu on the Touch:

Without the factory reset, there is no way of modifying information at
all, a simple reset will just immediatly jump to the connection screen
for mysqeezebox.com without anything in between. Only the factory reset
(with the long press of that tiny button) will allow to change settings
- during tho
I have been running 7.5embedded and 7.6 with SQLite for several months.
Yes scanning time reduced a factor 2-3.
Part of that is also that SQLite is used to handle covers. If I recall
correctly, SQLite is used for covers even if you choose to use mysql as
your database.

Hi Phil.
I think I figured it out - at least partially.
It's the ethernet jack. If I touch the ethernet jack metal frame with
my finger, hum is gone (or goes heavily down - I guess it needs to be
measured).
It becomes even more obvious if you unplug the ethernet cable and touch
the frame then.

I just launched my laptop, fired up a 3G Dialup connection and shared
that, then connected the Touch with an ethernet cable to the laptop.
The behaviour is different now, instead of endlessly trying to connect

I just tried all Touch outs into my AVR, cranked volume 100% on both
Touch & AVR (nothing playing, obviously), no such hum while tapping
Touch's ethernet jack.
I do get a consistent hum with Touch's headphone out in this scenario,
but I believe

Well, in my system I have problems with 48kHz (pop's and clicks
I'm also very interested in this! Any electrolytic cap in the signal
path is bad for sound quality. The best would be no cap at all, but a
small DC across an input switch will produce pops and clicks when
changing inputs. I've bypassed the output caps on my SB2 and use a DIY
interconnect with poly
My workaround is to show only the album cover in "Now Playing". At least
nothing moves then.

Screensaver "Black" is something else then Screen Off.
I'd like to see that it goes physically off. As said before
there is a program called vbetool under Linux which does this
on standard GPUs.

earlier as I was in the middle of a library scan. When skipping
between tracks the s-lock and sampling
Curious though if gainL and gainR values are used tweaked for replayGain
adjustment as well. If they are this would break that.

Lets define exactly what it is that wants to be done before anybody goes
off and implements things.
For one saying "just do exactly the same thing as the SB3" is not a
good suggestion, the SB3 didn't have a touch screen, its hard to use
the touch screen if you can't see the buttons. I know its ob
I tried skipping between 24/96 tracks on a PS Audio DLIII and noticed
the loss of lock briefly during the transition. No audible click or pop
that I could detect. Skipping between 16/44.1 does not exhibit the same
behavior.

I can see removing some items from now playing or shortening the volume
slider and adding a button to simply toggle the screen off screen saver.

What you're saying is that the screen-off screensaver turns the
backlight and screen physically off. I wasn't aware of that screen-off
function.
If that is working as you say, I'd be more then happy about it.

Got my Touch the other day. After software update it took only 5 min
before i was listening to free internet radio, and another 5 before i
was listening to my DI.FM premimum account. Pretty sweet and easy.
I was wondering about somthing though. I'm thinking of "adding sound"
