Re: [OSM-talk-be] Deelgemeentes en AGIV/CRAB
The reason that they are not in crab is simple: officially they don't exist anymore. You won't find any legal reference to them. Nowadays, two definitions are common: either following the boundaries of the communities as they where before the fusion in the seventies, or following the boundaries of the NIS/INS-codes ( http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/NIS-code) as they are used by Statbel. Difference between both definitions will be minimal. For our purpose, the first definition is the most practical since you can find it on old (out of copyright) maps. And I would be impressed if someone would get a dataset from Statbel with an open license or even without paying. Marc, every Flemish province has a website where you can find the Atlas der Buurtwegen/des Chemins Vicinaux. For East-Flanders (where I live) this is www.gisoost.be but the other provinces have something similar. A quick search will get you there. The reason for the organization by province is that there exists two physical copies for every community. One at the community and one at the province. Because after being in use for 170 years, their condition is not exactly optimal, every province decided to digitize the atlas to reduce the number of times that the physical copies need to be consulted. wouter -- Den som ikke tror på seg selv kommer ingen vei. -Thor Heyerdahl On 25 Sep 2013 19:01, Marc Gemis marc.ge...@gmail.com wrote: This is triggered by the note on OSM http://osm.org/go/0EpKQJ4xd- It requests that Muizen (part of Mechelen) is indicated. Re: [OSM-talk-be] Meeting OpenStreetMap, Brussels (Central station) on Thursday 3/10 at 19h
I'll be there. But I'm still confused about the goals of the meeting. Is this a presentation of OSM to a wider audience ? If so, why will we discuss the internal organisation to run an OSM website. This is something that has to take place behind closed doors. I would group all presentations about OSM together time-wise and after that's done, the insiders can stay and discuss stuff such as * Do we need a VZW/ASBL to support this? , * Discussion around the Open data Wallonia hackathon * contacts with administrations or press We do not need an audience for that, do we ? As for the presentations, if no one else (of the more experienced presenters/mappers) volunteers, I can give a presentation/demo on JOSM. Assuming the audience is not familiar with mapping I thought of the following outline - what is mapping (showing a sketch of a map as we used to do a long time ago) - add a restaurant node in ID - switch to JOSM (I'm much more familiar with it) - Use GPX track + waypoints - Use some presets to show JOSM can be easy as well - some the usage of other data sources, e.g. data of De Lijn (from DB), VMM (from Excel), Monuments from Wikipedia (via small Python script) - simple turn restriction relation (to show it's not all nodes and lines) or do you want to focus more on 1 topic e.g. adding house numbers ? as for the nice maps, besides good examples, I also think of different renderings to show the richness of the data - main OSM site with the different styles to get started (of Brussels to show work on Urbis ?) - OpenLinkMap to show the hyperlinks and opening hours - hike bike map to show the work on walking network - OpenSnowMap - Gesichtskarte (Lier, Mechelen or Antwerpen) - Perhaps some maps from ITO ? - Some examples from Best of the Map (http://bestofosm.org/) regards m On Thu, Sep 26, 2013 at 7:55 PM, Nicolas Pettiaux nico...@pettiaux.be wrote: 2013/9/26 Julien Fastré jul...@fastre.info Hi, About RTBF / Le Soir, etc.: IMHO I am not sure we should invite them there. amenity=hotel;pub makes perfect sense to me as well. One of OSM's basic rules is one real-world object maps to one OSM object. There are plenty of pubs which are also hotels, and hotels which also have/are pubs. OSMs data model should be flexible enough to evolve. Currently multivalued tags are not addressed within the data model so various communities are inventing their own solution. I firmly believe that the maintenance of the data model (I don't mean the tagging model here!) should be managed centrally. Changes would be well thought out, discussed with data/information architects, communicated in a timely fashion to stakeholders (both on the mapping side and on the data consumer side) and supported by updates to tooling. But I realise I am pretty much alone in this, and that my dream of some way of maintaining some kind of structure and order in the data is not going to happen. +1 In rural areas the village pub and hotel are often the same place, and the only pub. At the weekend I was in Llanamon-Dyffryn-Ceirog, there are two pub/hotels, both with public bars, both serving real ale. In this case one tagged as a pub and one as a hotel. Having to choose one or the other does not help the ultimate data consumer, i.e. the bloke (or blokette) who is out walking, our cycling and just wants a pint or somewhere to stay for the night. Idéias a respeito disso?

Tak.
Veremos a dónde llego...

This then simplifies rendering by allow groups of related features to be turned on and off, and potentially the stripping of data when it is being prepared for use in navigation systems. Joto 21:49, 19 December 2006 (UTC) I agree with you here that amenity is not exactly the right classification, ...

-- Satoshi IIDA mail: nyamp...@gmail.com twitter: @nyampire ___ Talk-ja mailing list Talk-ja@openstreetmap.org https://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk-ja
