Jason,

You suggested researching the issue of lipid replacement therapy (in
regard to loosing weight etc, as you have written below). As there is
quite a lot of info on this subject which comes up when one does a
Google search on Lipid Replacement Therapy, perhaps you would be
willing to give us a few leads to relevant articles which you may have
come across. Otherwise, it seems a bit like finding a needle in a
haystack.

 Hi Mike:

I agree with Bob, here. I wouldn't want to discourage anyone from doing a
cleansing diet who could benefit from such a regime.

There is a problem for some eating foods that are too cooling; this probably
 isn't you, however.

Rather than just approach the issue with fruits/veggies, I do recommend a
balanced meal, though... which isn't as difficult as it may seem.

Adding undenatured whey protein rather than eggs is a good idea, for
example. Also, rather than adding fish, consider balancing your fats.

I've seen unbelievable results with lipid replacement therapy. Lipid
replacement therapy will also take care of your willpower problems, as the
body works to get over carb addiction. Drinking copious amounts of lemon
water will also knock sugar cravings down, and make life a bit more
comfortable handling detox reactions... the lemon is a blood and liver
cleanser, as well as an alkalizing agent.

Lipid replacement therapy results in a vast reduction in appetite. As the
body literally ejects bad fats in favor of high quality fats, toxins are
also removed (stored in fat). The body's cleansing processes become a
priority, reducing appetite, almost like a herx reaction. The reaction can
be managed simply by adjusting the amount lipids taken (for thiry days, I
took lipids 3X daily... lost too much weight, had to normalize intake).

Individuals who do things like 1+ tablespoonfuls of coconut oil are doing
lipid replacement therapy. Spend some time researching this issue and I
 think you'll find it fascinating.

I started studying it because I was running into some neurological problems.
30 days of lipid balancing and all of the problems were gone. Fatty acid
and amino acid based therapies can be amazing.

For my morning smoothy I use undenatured whey protein, almond milk, 1 tbs
4:1 ratio of organic sunflower oil and flax seed oil, and then my choice of
 antioxidants (a bit of fruit).

You can easily adopt the above ideology to a veggie/fruit drink, keeping in
mind that it is a very good idea to get enough dietary protein and fat in
the morning... It takes fat to burn fat.

In my opinion, it might be a better strategy to develop a health-supporting
breakfast, a cleansing lunch (your veggie/fruit cleansing drink), and a
light dinner as a regular lifestyle, once your done fasting. Too many
people yo-yo. The trick is to break the body's addiction, and allow it to
 pass.

those people who might temporarily benefit from eating cold and/or raw

everyone. It is always important to chew your food well and eat
organically raised food as much as possible. Chewing “cooks” the food

 Hi Mike,
I don't do juice fasts because when I was in Acupuncture school we saw
too many long term vegetarians and raw foodists with severe health
issues whose systems had to be trained to digest other foods again.
Digestion is basically a fermentation process. That means that when we
eat our bodies must bring the temperature (physical and thermodynamic)
of the food to the temperature of the body in order to ferment/digest
it. If the food is physically or thermodynamically cold it must be
warmed and that takes energy. Over time the digestive system becomes
impacted and functions less efficiently and health issues ensue.
Very simplified to be sure but still true.

Hi Dan:

Good point!

Some clarifications, also:

We all know that the only way to reduce weight is to restrict
carbs/calories and/or increase physical activity, so I'm not suggesting
that using lipid replacement therapy alone is the single simple solution.

However, individuals who, through lifestyle decisions, gained those
extra pounds will nearly always have very imbalanced lipid profiles.

Using lipid replacement therapy along with a cleansing diet, etc., may
help reduce carb cravings due to the cleansing process which this
therapy induces.

...and finally, weight loss through lipid replacement:

BMI becomes much, much easier.

I'm glad you're having this discussion, folks, as I've been looking at
Dr. Wilson's page on yin/yang that Carol kindly posted, and it's hard to
reconcile a lot of it with what I'm understanding about what's healthy
and what's not. I get the impression (s)he's torturing things a bit to
force them into a western and/or scientific framework, and it's losing
something in the translation.

I'll check out a few more pages from Dr. Wilson's site, just to see if
it comes together more... And then check out these sources you've come
up with, Dan.

Interesting stuff!

Thanks!

I have to cite a source to have any credibility in this, so this is
one I found on the net which is more in line with my understanding of
 yin and yang:

“Generally, anything that is moving, ascending, bright, progressing,
hyperactive, including functional disease of the body, pertains to
 yang.

 http://www.tcmbasics.com/basics_yinyang.htm
The characteristics of stillness, descending, darkness, degeneration,
hypoactivity, including organic disease, pertain to yin.”

 (Definition)
 http://www.gsmcweb.com/?p=156
 “Functional Symptoms vs. Organic Disease
Many, if not most, health complaints are termed functional, meaning
that no known associated organic or pathological tissue changes can be
found by the physician investigating possible causes of the symptoms.
Functional symptoms can include headaches, fatigue, insomnia,
irritability, abdominal pain, indigestion, low back pain, or simply
 not feeling well.
Organic or pathological disease are terms used to describe more
advanced stages of disease that are accompanied by physical, cellular
changes that can be identified by diagnostic testing. Examples of
organic diseases include cancer, arthritis, heart disease, gastric
 ulcers, and emphysema.”

Contradicting this is Dr Wilson’s description:

“Yang tends to be more contracted, more dense, condensing, increasing
in mass,”…” and often more physical.” “Yang tends to be inward-moving
or centripetal. It is also generally downward-moving toward the

“Yin tends to be more expanded, evaporating, less dense, more chaotic,
less massive, and in some cases more ethereal.” ““In contrast, yin
tends to be more outward-moving, split apart or centrifugal. It also
tends to be upward moving away from the earth.”

Then he gives a rule which is not supported in any interpretation of
yin or yang that I know of, and then shows that is the case in about
half of his examples, and not in the other half. So, not a great
 theory:

“Yang tends to be a lower frequency or slower moving waves, while yin
tends to be a higher frequency of energy or faster moving waves of
energy. This is not always the case, but it is often true.”

 Another bogus rule:
“In contrast, yin tends to be more outward-moving, split apart or
centrifugal. It also tends to be upward moving away from the earth.”
“For example, foods that grow up in the air on trees, such as fruits,
are further away from the earth and this is one reason they tend to be
more yin. Root vegetables are much more yang, in part because they
 grow under the earth.”

 http://drlwilson.com/Articles/yin%20yang%20healing.htm
“What are yin and yang? A general introduction to the concept
is to understand them as follows:

 • Qualities of matter. Yang tends to be more contracted,
more dense, condensing, increasing in mass, warm with more internal
heat, dryer and often more physical.
Yin tends to be more expanded, evaporating, less
dense, more chaotic, less massive, cold, dampand in some cases more
 ethereal.
For example, water is more yin, while land is more
yang. The warm tropics are more yang, while the areas near the north
and south poles are far more yin because they are cold.

 • Frequencies of energies. Yang tends to be a lower
frequency or slower moving waves, while yin tends to be a higher
frequency of energy or faster moving waves of energy. This is not
always the case, but it is often true.
For example, the color red is a lower frequency and
more yang, while the color blue is a higher frequency and somewhat
more yin. Infrared is an even lower frequency and tends to be more
yang than red, although infrared contains some frequencies that are
yin as well, so this criteria is variable.

 • Directions of movement. Yang tends to be inward-moving or
centripetal. It is also generally downward-moving toward the center
 of the earth.
In contrast, yin tends to be more outward-moving,
split apart or centrifugal. It also tends to beupward moving away
from the earth. Once again, this is not always true, but is often the
 case.

Hi Mike,
I don't do juice fasts because when I was in Acupuncture school we saw too
many long term vegetarians and raw foodists with severe health issues whose
systems had to be trained to digest other foods again. Digestion is
basically a fermentation process. That means that when we eat our bodies
must bring the temperature (physical and thermodynamic) of the food to the
temperature of the body in order to ferment/digest it. If the food is
physically or thermodynamically cold it must be warmed and that takes
energy. Over time the digestive system becomes impacted and functions less
efficiently and health issues ensue.
Very simplified to be sure but still true.

Silver List, and I'm happy to be back. At the time I was living in Bangladesh,
dedicated to the development of a silver treated, pottery water filter, and now
I'm in Kenya. Regarding such filters, we're doing our best here, to implement
their production and distribution. Another time, I'll be keen to say more
about this, but for now I want to address Mike's questions, regarding 'juice
facts.' During the last couple of years, I've been following the, 'Atkins
Diet,' which is very basically all about cutting out sugar and carbohydrates,
as well as the importance of taking in protein. I recently heard about a guy
who was eating fruit only, who died, seemingly as a result of no protein!
Needless to say, the protein is important, and for this I eat fish and nuts. I
avoid beef, pork and chicken, because I'm somehow convinced that these can lead
to bouts of arthritis. Meanwhile, I've lost thirty pounds, as a result of the
constraints on carbohydrates and sugar! About willpower, I got so mentally
sick of the arthritis and the over weight, that I did have a lot of motivation.
About the immediate reaction of family, and others, I want to mention another
issue, and that is that I'm variously told that my face is somehow blue. Back
in Bangladesh, and subsequently in Nepal, and parts of Africa, I was making
colloidal silver, using a 500ml. beaker, two silver wires, 1.2 cms. apart, and
three nine volt batteries. I seem to have made the mistake of drinking CS that
was a bit yellowish. There were also three or four times when I put a dozen
drops, in a glass of water, of Mexican made, Microdyn. Microdyn is 3,200ppm,
and is sold for the purpose of washing salad vegetables, but Mexican do as I
had done, using it in drops, as a curative. ...Can anyone give me some ideas
about chelation, for taking away the blue? A friend had suggested that I drink
distilled water, and I recalled that this is said to leach out various
material. Then I got to wondering whether it would have this affect, if I were
to put it on a cloth, and onto my face? ...Subject: CSJuice fasts...

Hi folks,

Seeing as how quiet things have been for several days, I'd like to toss
a subject into the ring...

Anybody got experience or observed others doing juice fasts or other
variants on a mostly to all raw veggie, nut, fruit diet, with perhaps
just a little dairy/eggs/fish thrown in? I'm talking on the order of 80%
raw or more?

What's the longest pure juice fast you've done or seen?

Areas I'm most interested in are how they handled willpower issues,
getting along with immediate family, excellent resources, and I don't
know what else?

There's a documentary called Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead on Hulu that
offers some good inspiration. Any other media, books, websites?

What sort of results have you seen and what kind of conditions have
shown improvement... or not?

Thanks!

Be well,

Mike D.

I read very recently, that the whole reason for eating vegetables is to detox
the liver and system. It is not to nourish, protein is for nourishing and fat
and carbs for energy. People who only eat veggies are in a permanent state of
detoxing but not getting a lot of nourishment. I think the answer is in the
old saying of moderation and balance in everything. dee

frequent-dose-chelat...@yahoogroups.com is a good group to pose your
question. They are dedicated to chelating heavy metals and mercury, maybe
there's a solution to your problem. One must chelate properly to quickly
pass the metals out of the body instead of having them circulate through
the body which can do more harm than good.

Reid,

I am so glad you posted! I just started Atkins and feel better without any
high-sugar carbs as well. (For those who don't know, the Atkins Induction
program allows up to 16 ounces of animal protein, 3 teaspoons of additional
vegetable oils, and no more than 20 grams of allowed carbs from veggies, a
day. The allowed veggies are all types of salad greens, and a few
higher-starch veggies such as cabbage, cauliflower, and tomato. Look on the
web for more information.)

I wanted to say a few things about juice fasting. Many people cannot do it
because they are too ill; they need good fats, which nourish the brain and
nervous system. Also, for some, fruit is too sweet. The liver can process
only so much fructose at a time, which then turns to body fat. Glucose
affects the body much more gently than fructose.

I make myself green smoothies, which not only is comprised of veggies and NO
fruit, but I blend everything, including the pulp, in my Vita Mix. The pulp
has many important functions, including slowing down the rate of absorption,
and cleaning out the colon. Read Victoria Boutenko's book Green Smoothies.
Drinking the pulp makes a lot of sense.

Best,

Nenah

Agree. I saw a man in Mexico go blind in one eye when something broke loose
from the IV EDTA and lodged in his eye. Another guy did not need glasses
after chelation cleared something that blocked his eyesight. I always did DR
Clarks kidney cleanse prior to an IV Chelation. My first chelation I
passed 18 kidney stones and stopped counting as that showed me that chelations
were helping me. I do have Gout so chelations work for me. I always made
sure my urine output was 32 ounces per day or more like Clark recommended,
parsley tea worked for me I now use my own chelator following Make my own

I agree that raw is good for cleansing but not for building so much
especially if you are type O blood, then you need the animal protein to be
strong and healthy it seems. also our soil is not as good as it once was
they say so veggies don't have all the vitamins and minerals they once did.
finally if you're ill you might not be absorbing all the food and then the
more work your body does to digest and eliminate, the more tired you may

Hi Nenah,

Yes it's true some people do worse with a raw food diet, vegetarian or
otherwise. It is most important to chew our food well so as to warm and
digest most of it before it goes into the stomach. It becomes much easier
for us to assimilate that way and places less stress on our body. If
everyone would simply masticate their food 20, 30 or more times before
swallowing we would have a more peaceful world.

Cheers.

digest most of it before it goes into the stomach. It becomes much easier
for us to assimilate that way and places less stress on our body. If

Seeing as how quiet things have been for several days, I'd like to toss
 a subject into the ring...

Anybody got experience or observed others doing juice fasts or other

just a little dairy/eggs/fish thrown in? I'm talking on the order of 80%
 raw or more?

What's the longest pure juice fast you've done or seen?

Areas I'm most interested in are how they handled willpower issues,
getting along with immediate family, excellent resources, and I don't

There's a documentary called Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead on Hulu that

What sort of results have you seen and what kind of conditions have

to lose weight successfully. What I am doing is juicing for lunch

I mix this with hemp powder, pomegranate juice, coconut water,
pineapple and a banana. I am taking a tablespoon of MCT oil with each meal.

Hi Mike,
I don't do juice fasts because when I was in Acupuncture school we saw too many
long term vegetarians and raw foodists with severe health issues whose systems
had to be trained to digest other foods again. Digestion is basically a
fermentation process. That means that when we eat our bodies must bring the
temperature (physical and thermodynamic) of the food to the temperature of the
body in order to ferment/digest it. If the food is physically or
thermodynamically cold it must be warmed and that takes energy. Over time the
digestive system becomes impacted and functions less efficiently and health
issues ensue.
Very simplified to be sure but still true.

Re: CSJuice fasts...

2013-02-05 Thread Jason

Hi Mike:

I agree with Bob, here. I wouldn't want to discourage anyone from doing
a cleansing diet who could benefit from such a regime.

There is a problem for some eating foods that are too cooling; this
probably isn't you, however.

Rather than just approach the issue with fruits/veggies, I do recommend
a balanced meal, though... which isn't as difficult as it may seem.

Adding undenatured whey protein rather than eggs is a good idea, for
example. Also, rather than adding fish, consider balancing your fats.

I've seen unbelievable results with lipid replacement therapy. Lipid
replacement therapy will also take care of your willpower problems, as
the body works to get over carb addiction. Drinking copious amounts of
lemon water will also knock sugar cravings down, and make life a bit
more comfortable handling detox reactions... the lemon is a blood and
liver cleanser, as well as an alkalizing agent.

Lipid replacement therapy results in a vast reduction in appetite. As
the body literally ejects bad fats in favor of high quality fats,
toxins are also removed (stored in fat). The body's cleansing processes
become a priority, reducing appetite, almost like a herx reaction. The
reaction can be managed simply by adjusting the amount lipids taken (for
thiry days, I took lipids 3X daily... lost too much weight, had to
normalize intake).

Individuals who do things like 1+ tablespoonfuls of coconut oil are
doing lipid replacement therapy. Spend some time researching this issue
and I think you'll find it fascinating.

I started studying it because I was running into some neurological
problems. 30 days of lipid balancing and all of the problems were gone.
Fatty acid and amino acid based therapies can be amazing.

For my morning smoothy I use undenatured whey protein, almond milk, 1
tbs 4:1 ratio of organic sunflower oil and flax seed oil, and then my
choice of antioxidants (a bit of fruit).

You can easily adopt the above ideology to a veggie/fruit drink, keeping
in mind that it is a very good idea to get enough dietary protein and
fat in the morning... It takes fat to burn fat.

In my opinion, it might be a better strategy to develop a
health-supporting breakfast, a cleansing lunch (your veggie/fruit
cleansing drink), and a light dinner as a regular lifestyle, once your
done fasting. Too many people yo-yo. The trick is to break the
body's addiction, and allow it to pass.
