If you have set NIGHTLY back to 0, it wont update to the latest nightly. But another way is to download the latest version of what ever you want, and put it in the download share of the QNap. Then stop and start QLogitechMediaServer, it will install that if it matches the requirements . I tried to reproduce the error, but according to me its works. If you look close, it can not download the newest release file. Youe on a deve;opers version, but disabled the update for it. Change developers to DEVELOPERS=0 , will enable it again. Thanks for the input. Yes found the error, the arm QTS has a very old busybox. A strange thing, a app soes not need a digitale signature. That only used and important when installing or updating QLogotechMediaServer through the appcentre. I think some where you have a sercurity option enabled, which is causing this. Would suggested to go to the QNap forum, and put youre qeustion there. I Running the latest QTS with QLogitechMediaServer no trouble or errors. And regarding the update messages, thats when LMS itself is updated not QLogitechMediaServer. This error has nothing to do with busybox, but more with the notice and log tool from Qnap. It seems you're version is differnet build, and missing a option. Will be fixed in next release soon. It seems that there is no access to internet on the QNap. If you changed from internet provider, have a close look on the networksettings of you're QNap nas network settings.. Otherwise visited the QNap forum, to look there for more info. The trouble lays in the QNap nas no internet access. Strangely enough QLMS will do nothing with the SSOTS/SSODS directories. The same with the SlimServer/ directory. But is previous settings are lost, you could check if a backup is made. In ssh shell do "ls $(/bin/acho /share/*/Public)" Now look at the files QLMS_BCKUP_?.?.tgz. If they are files called like that write done the latest name, go to "cd /share/*/.qpkg/LogitechMediaServer". No error check is QLogitechMediaServer.sh exist by doing "ls". If it exist do the following command " ./QLogitechMediaServer.sh restore ../../Public/QLMS_BCKUP_?.?.tgz", where the ? are replaced with the numbers a the newest file. This will restore the latest settings and plugins friom that backup file. And then a remark, please on error send me QLogitechMediaServer.log.err and QLogitechMediaServer.log. Yes that is the trouble, the busybox version is very old. Curios what QTS version is on youre QNap? The thing is busybox is part of QTS, but now we found the trouble know a way to work around it. As you see sending me the QLogitechMediaServer.log.err is important. The same for QLogotechMediaServer.log QLMS makes both on error, and tries to collected the error for investigation. Sure you can downgraded, just download the file from qnapstore, and install manuel through the appstore. Regarding the network thing, to hard to simple explain. Go to the website/forum of QNap, and ask there. But did it work on QTS 5 with version 2.21 ? I based my answere on the error long time on nmetwork check through ./QLogitechMediaServer.sh config. Qnap changed some things in QTS 5, regarding acces of prg on the network. Have a got close look in the config pages of the webgui, otherwise go to the QNAP forum regarding this. Thats a strange error, has i have not changed any thing, regarding perl or files in the file-systeem. Could you please send me the output of "./QLogitechMediaServer.sh" And then one complety until its competly finshed ? Regarding SSOTS/lms 7.8, no QLMS does nothing with it. But some times you get a error message, and if you use a old conf of SSOTS QLMS wont start. On error i always sugest to do a compleet new install, to be sure nothing is bothering it. On updating from 2.21 to 2.25, it will always install a new version off LMS NIGHTLY. As I are wrote some time ago, disable NIGHTLY for now. Working on a new update routine. Due to corona, the update is taking longer then want. Lucky i`m almost cured from the corona virus. In the middle of making a update, where beside nightly i will know about developers releases. ( As Michael pointed out ). But a question regarding perl 5.32, it wont run with the included modules. Also armv5te and i386/i686 are not supported anymore. So are there users interested in perl 5.32 ? Keep in mind, its a lot off work to do. QTS 5 works fine. But read the changes on QTS 5 carefully, they changed some things in the network section. This is a thing with i think ACL, try installing the ACL plugin. Look good in the several thread, there should be more information on how to fix this. Has not thing to do with QLMS, more regarding the way you have setup management rights on you' re QNap On my own QNap, the files in my MultiMedia have 0755 rights, and done nothing regarding the user squeezeboxserver. I would never suggested to let the user squeezeboxserver own those files, squeezeboxserver is just a systeem user. Yes there is, logon by ssh shell. Do ( cd /share/*/.qpkg/LogitechMediaServer ), now do ( ./QLogitechMediaServer.sh backup ). A backup will be mad eof the current settings and plugins, which can be found in /share/*//Public/. Here you will see QLMS_BCKUP_*.*tgz file, download them to a usb stick, or you' re laptop/desktop. Now if you reset and reinstalled everything on you're QNap, place them back in the same directory. Now again logon you' re QNap, place the files back in share/*//Public/. Do ( cd /share/*/.qpkg/LogitechMediaServer ), now do ( ./QLogitechMediaServer.sh restore ) and ( ./QLogitechMediaServer.sh restart ) If everything went good, its back with to old settings and plugings. Then do ( cd /share/*/.qpkg/LogitechMediaServer ), now do ( ./QLogitechMediaServer.sh restart ) Now look at the screen on any messages, could be that its on a other port. 9001 is the default, but if its already in use will do 9001+1 ( 9002 ) and up. There are two ways you can downgraded lms. 1. Logon to youre QNap using ssh shel, and go to /share/*/.qpkg/LogitechMediaServer. Here you find a file called .QLMS.conf, here change the UPDATE=1 to UPDATE=8.1.1 ( Or other version, which you want to uses ) Save the file, and now ./QLogitechMediaServer.sh restart. This will installed disered version if it exist and run it. Now edit .QLMS.conf NOUPDATE=0 to NOUPDATE=1, be sure there is no leading # in front off the line, and save tie file. This way it wont do a auto update check anymore. 2. Logon to youre QNap using ssh shel, and go to /share/*/.qpkg/LogitechMediaServer. Now run ./QLogitechMediaServer.sh rollback. This will present you a menu, with several older version, and let you chouce which one to want to use. If the menu is empty, on upgraded you have not set ARCHIVE=1 in .QLMS.conf. Then a thing most users are not aware off, try ./QLochitechMediaServer.sh help, where it will show info regarding options and some troubleshooting. QLMS Help QLogitechMediaServer version 2.x Help-file QLogitechMediaServer is a init-script, to install/run LogitechMediaServer on a QNap Nas-Systems ! It support the arm5te, armhf, arm64/aarch64, x86 and x86_64 systems, with QTS 4.0 and higher. On startup can check on any updates (Official/Nightly), behavior can be chanced in .QLMS.conf Also there is a way, the set running prio/nice-level, to make it running smooth on a Nas-Systems/Server. This has something to do with the rights on you're files. This mostly happens if you uses ACL, then you need to install the ACL pluggin. Otherwise the file must have 0755 read/write rights. The logitechmediaserver-?.?.?-??.tgz is the filename, to download and used with QLogitechMediaServer. And that should be the file placed in the Download share of you're QNap, to do a mannuel up/down graded with QLogoitechMediaServer. As explained the one to download, and put inside the share. The filename with -arm-linux inside or any other, is never used or should be used, as QLogitechMediaServer wont know what to do wiith it. If you read the READ_ME_TROUBLE, there it's also explained how one can do a manual up- downgraded by placing the file in the download share of you're Qnap system. Then start or stop/start QLogitechMediaServer through the app center will install and start lms with that version. And as long you don't stop/start QLogitechMediaServer it won't upgraded to a newer version. Or edit. QLMS.conf the line #NOUPDATE=0 to NOUPDATE=1, to prevent it from updating. Yes the update routine, is changed a bit. The same for the upgrade routine. Removed some old stuff, and made some things smaller. But still everything depenps on the work load of youÅe QNap Nas-System. With several thing running in the backGround like Plex,Sabnzbd, lidarr and more, some times ot can take longer. First if LMS is installed, will check for example from 9.0.0 down to 8.0.0., Nightly from 9.0 untill 8.0. Big change in this release, all is done in the memory. On upgraded first it will do a check on the tar file if its not corrupted. I can also conform this, running on QNap nas-System. Running QlogitechMediaServer 8.0. Same trouble here, the UPnP and ChromeCast plugin are gone after update. Due to you're info changed it, so QLogitechMediaServer is more
compatible with other and older QNap system.

QLogitechMediaServer work on the several QNap out there

Oke also noticed another thing. Could you please change #PERL=1 in to PERL=1 in the .QLMS.config. The same on ping, has been tested on several different Qnap systems.
Something on you're Qnap is not running as it should.
Better would be to test ping in a ssh shell of you're Qnap. For example
try ping Google.com.
Don't alter the scripts, will only make things worse. Remember by
altering, you could cause a complet crash of you're Qnap of lose you're
complet music collection.

What you could try, if the latest is installed. Logon by putty ssh shell. Do [ cd /share/*/.qpkg/LogitechMediaServer ], now do [ chown -R squeezeboxserver SlimServer/ ] If ready do [ ./QLogitechMediaServer.sh restart ], and have a close look on the output. Also do [ ./QLogitechMediaServer.sh config ], and look at the output. ( give it some time, because some things need time ) When installing the qpkg/app through the appcentre, there should be a time out, after about 10 to 12 minuts. Is still a guess, but looking at you logs, missing the entry where is fixing owner/rights with path info. In the config output, the error on the Disc-space check was not clear, changed it to clear messages. ! When using the config option, some commands take some time. Especially when you're start/restart you're Nas-System, its normal as its handling a lot commands. Also keep in mind, depending on what already running, due to the update check/upgrading LMS needs some time to start. I dont any trouble, all looks like it working. The only thing i think, is that you need to wait a bit more. Keep in mind a arm cpu is not a x86/x86_64 cpu. And remember on startup, the script does a lot of thing, and handles a lot command. Try following. in the .QLMS.conf set #NOUPDATE=0 to NOUPDATE=1. Then do the comamnd ./QLogitechMediaServer.sh restart., and have a look at the output. And remember, some times can take some time. Also remember on startup LMS also does a lot of things, depending a bit on how many plugin's are installed. Give it some time, it will never be ready on startup, can take a few minuts. The same is for ./QLogitechMediaServer.sh config, it need to fetch serveral info by running command and wait on the output. The last line on config will be, This output can also be found in /share/*/.qpkg/LogitechMediaServer/QLogitechMediaServer.log.config ! If you have a close look in the forum, you could find the answere. And regarding youre trouble, a bit more info would help a lot ! For example which QNap model are we talking about, which QTS version is installed.
