Just came back from seeing Shake play at this party in Sydney - Boom
Boom at Spice Cellars in Martin Place. It wasn't the best promoted
party but I'm glad people came out to see him.

Techno is club-focussed now here. Good techno is in clubs. Rave is dead
here. Or the still extant raves are for hard dance, hard NRG, trance,

The best promoters for it turned it down in Syd - you can guess who they
might be - so the Melb people did it themselves as that was the only option.

Like Quest said, there's not so much in Sydney - what techno there is
tends to be of the pretty bloody hard variety - there are a few such
gigs coming up in February.
Somebody mentioned Tailors and there's a night on there this Friday (I
think) called B.E.E.F. - it's more el
Sydney never was a techno city, there are truly great DJs but they mostly
get no love from the wider scene up there. No one goes to Sydney for techno.
They even pass over some of the best internationals now. The demise of
Chinese Laundry says it all.
