Depending on which way you go, using more smaller-voltage
1.5 watt hour per cubic inch roughly.

Out of curiousity, what does 16kwh storage look like? That seems to be a lot of
battery.

If your load is 50W, then you need to deal with ~~ 1.2 KWH
of energy
usage per day (50*24).
We don't know your latitude,
in line with Bill's recommendation.

with a real winter, I would
say:
1000W of panel. (20X load)
16 kWh storage. (14 days autonomy)
So right in line with Bill's recommendation.

Since we're talking about a relatively small
system, I would base whether to do a 24v or 48v
system on what the majority of the load is going
to be. If it's going to be like 70% 24v g
ou can make do with smaller batts. Better yet put in a small

We don't know your latitude, or location, so you will have to plug in
whatever solar values are typical for your area. However, a good rule of
thumb

Bill's numbers look about right for what you'd
Yeah, solar great, TVWS not so great.

Hi,
I'm considering some fixed wireless (TVWS) trials and/or the ability
to deliver temporary service where there's no available power source.
I've done some basic solar system calculations (and there are plenty
of calculators) but I'm looking for some real world pointers from
those that
20X the load and 2 weeks of battery autonomy saves

Yeah, we are inclined towards Lithium

But you want to only take a lead battery to 1/2 that to avoid decreasing the
longevity of them, so double the battery size
Thanks Chuck!

30 watts * 24 *14 = approx 10 kWh. So you need a 10 kWh battery. 10 kWh/48 =
210 Ah 48 volt battery.
Now, I have lotsa experience at my latitude
