your routers sync to this NTP server by configure the following commands
in your routers. Make sure you have a accurate timing in your server.

Why do you suspect modem handshaking as your delay? Modems are typically
very quick at connection, it is the protocols being run over the links which
tend to cause the delays.

I would definately look at the Aironet wireless bridges that Cisco sells, if
you have line of site? I have installed 2 at work and am about to install 8
more. They do everything that is advertised so far. I have had no problems

I am taking this exam on Dec 12 as a trail, I don't have the material but I
read Designing Network Security. It map pretty well to the course outline
but I am still not sure what will be in the exam.
Note that if you take this exam after 1.1.2000 you're not a CCNP-Sec, you
will have to take three
