One question though- with your PPPOE, you may have a proprietary version that runs ATM to the desktop. When I worked for Covad, a lot of the cheaper "best effort" services had an Acatel or Efficient Networks bridge as the access point WIN98SE with an ATM driver (ATM to the desktop). Phil

You don't say what type of IDSN connection you have. Is the customer connecting from one site to another (internal) site? Are they connecting to an ISP? Do you have control of both sides of the BRI (calling site and called site)? Just off the cuff, I'd suspect that there's a bad line card
