I think MCSE/CCNP will open more doors, although you will probably find that in most of the jobs, you will be used 90% for MCSE type stuff, and 10% for CCNP type stuff (generalising here I know, but based on my experience). The NP/DP would be better if you would rather just be doing Cisco stuff,

I would totally agree with you on this since MCSE would give us more experience and understanding on LAN while CCNP gives us more experience on WAN. This is such a good combination of cert that I would go for instead of just focusing on Cisco Only. My philosophy is THE MORE YOU KNOW, THE BETTER
