I know that having two 2610s... you could not train on 802.1q or ISL. Well,
actually you can perform 802.1q but you must have IOS 12.2T series IOS. I
know that is one drawback because I have concerns for having a couple of
2610s but I also have a 3640 too.

I don't think so. You would need a simulator in between.

you'd probably want to add a frame-relay switch to your lab (and some
router-to-router cables couldnt hurt either). Ive got a couple 2520's in
stock if you'd like one. $1250 + S/H

I would have one of the 2500's as the core router connected to both of the
others through it's serial ports. I say this because you can't have more than
one wan link with the 1600 series, so it has to be one of the outers. Have a
desktop connected to a hub that is connected to the 2 outer route
I have two 2500 series routers(2 serial, 1 ethernet) and a 1600 series
router (1 serial, 1 ethernet). What is the best way to setup a lab with
this equipment? What types of cables? I also have a couple of CSUs if
needed.
Thanks

Brian,
If you are using ADTRAN setup one of the CSU's to be the Master for
timing/clocking and then let the other CSU get the timing/clocking from the
Master CSU.

Hi brian:
I don´t know exactly about your dsu/csu, and also I´m speaking from europe, my
experience is with G703 protocol, and I needed configure it manually, at
hardware level.
Match with the channels in both senese
set DTE, DCE
Balance or Unbalance...ect..
(Is better consult your DSU manual)
Try setting the clock rate. I believe on the DCE side.

Make sure you are using the correct mapping of the
channels.
Check the crossover cable, or just make another one to
exclude cable issue.

I am having a rough time getting my home lab up and running, and would love

I have tried everything, but obviously I haven't, because it isn't working.
Anyone care to help out?
CSU/DSU#1
TXD=solid green light
RXD=flash
make sure you have the right cable connecting them. pins 1,2 to 7,8 and 7,8
to 1,2. that is a 56/64k xover cable...

I cannot get my two routers to talk over a CSU/DSU connection and cannot
figure out what I am missing. I get the notice "Serial 0 is up, line
protocol is down" on both routers. I am just starting out so I would
appreciate any advice on items to check in troubleshooting this setup.
