freelancing a lot of visual design/front end development projects in

I agree with 37 Signals that you should just choose the paging size.
The page size is really a question of performance. And I don't think
you would ask your user what type of performance they want. You
already know, they want it fast.

I have been looking, unsuccessfully, through back issues of interactions
magazine for an article, published a few years back, written I believe by
someone from Microsoft as part of a debate about statistical significance in
usability testing. There was something of a debate about testing with
I saw this neat filter recently at http://www.sixwineseight.com that
changes wine choices based on selected criteria and uses a graphic
image to provide instant feedback. It's a much simpler form than
you're probably looking for but I think it's a nice example of
graphic feedback that's fun and
that you can access the
other controls? Should we just rely on access keys to enable that?

I like this thread because it made me realize I do not have an
articulated list of principles that I can point to. While I'm
working on that here's a couple of thoughts:
Give a crap and remember that nice people will have to use your
design to accomplish something--don't ruin their day and
I've been working with a set of IA and Wireframe documents that I've
refined over the last few years, and now as I'm taking advantage of
some of the under appreciated features and aspects of the

Maybe you could combine several of these interests and work on a user
test with prototypes or wireframes you create. Being able to test
your solutions with your intended audience is something that is a big
part of all IXD work and is such a great learning experience. It
would also give you a
Silverlight 3 might be helpful for high-fidelity prototypes as it
supposed to have touch capability.

I think some of the fun ways we're using interaction design to affect
behavior now is in our personal life and productivity.
The WiiFit example is great because it takes something we don't
necessary like to do and makes it into a game. I disagree that a dvd

Hi. I'm looking for a web-based research and writing tool to help me organize
and aggregate news articles, blog posts, links and other web-based resources
for a writing project. I've searched around a bit, EndNote Web from
Thomson-Reuters looks promising but I can't get a straight answer on
