Seems like if all the info in your Access database is pristine and
correct, then the problem is not to populate the slimserver.db, but to
propogate the TAGS from your Access records.

There is another tag that can be used as an ID tag. Each track made with
a proper tagger knows the CD ID that it came from. The combination of CD
ID and track number should make any track unique.
I don't recall at the moment what the tag is called, but it's the thing

This is a serious bug, since I won't be able to share my external D/A
with my transport now. The D/A does auto sense, once the RCA signal is
there, it has the priority and will never switch

I've seen similar problems that went away after I blew away the data
base and rescanned. Just rescan wasn't good enough.
In windows, with the server stopped, blow away
\Program Files\SlimServer\server\Cache
and restart the server.

I've started ripping cds in FLAC, because its native to the SB3.
Accordingly, my understanding is that it should allow ff and rew inside
the song, where formats that must be converted (for example apple
lossless etc.) do not offer this.
Unfortunately I am not able to ff and rew within each song.

That sounds pretty much like the problem I had until I deleted the db.
The build of the database is very different between 6.2/3 and 6.5
branches.
