If you're using Director 8 or later, there is a whole new set of sound
commands that give you a lot of control over audio. Check the Lingo
dictionary, Lingo by Feature, under "Sound."

rm development, and we have an NT server. The Mac
creates these "Icon" files on the server, and that stops Windows file
copying dead in its tracks. So, I have a little utility to delete all these
icon files.
The bug? baFolderExists("Icon" & RETURN) returns true. Not a sho
didn't, on similar functions.

I don't know how much they're paying the programmers, but this sounds like
a false economy to me. I'd upgrade to 8.5 and be done with it. You'd spend
a *lot* of time copying and pasting, and with a very good probability of
introducing new errors.

Error trapping doesn't help much--when you try to create a file with a name
that's too long, Director simply crashes. It doesn't even return an error.

I'm puzzled--I really don't know what your problem is. It will probably

Actually, more than one good reason. FileXtra3 doesn't work with original
Windows 95--only rev 2.

Also, if you use FileXtra3, you have to instantiate it, like that
curmudgeon Irv showed us ;-) The older FileXtra didn't have to be instantiated.
As far as I know, FileXtra still works fine with 8.5. Has anybody found any
different?
