get masquerading to ppp to work.
With Mandrake, ppp started to work, but then all of a sudden it stopped working
completely upon connection with the message 'serial line is looped back'. I
read a recent post on this,
if you have a windows 98 computer handy, put the hard disk in that as
drive,,
then start windows and go to start/accessories/system tools/drive converter
then select d drive,,,follow the prompt, and it will convert the drive to
fat32...
if fat16 was the problem, that will fix it.

then open konqueror or whatever and browse to /mnt/floppy and if you had a
disk in the drive, it should now be accessable..
If you are not using automount, then its a good idea to type umount
