I'm tired of Linux freezing up when I play sound using my Aureal Storm Platinum and I want to replace it. What would you recommend as a replacement ? It has to be at least as fully featured as the Aureal Vortex 2, and _fully_ compatible with Mandrake. Any suggestions? Thanx. ---

Your card *should* have been detected without any trouble. Have you tried turning off the "PnP OS" (or something similar) setting in your BIOS? AFAIK, the SoundBlaster PCI128 is supported. The SB AWE64 (ISA) is well supported as well (I have one and it works perfectly). On Mon, 19 Mar 2001
