What you have here is a contradiction in terms. There are no cheap
simulators. Black Box sells a simulator that I know nothing about, but they
do offer 20% for you first purchase. This brings the price down around $1700
I think.
If you check the archives, there is mention of a company in Dallas t

A few months ago, another engineer and I bought a ISDN simulator from ARCA
Technologies. We decided upon ARCA mainly due to the fact that they have a
2 port BRI
simulator with bui

I that for a single user $1995 is a bit too high. But if the company is

My first question would be which model did you get? The ILS 2000
comes with support for both U and ST BRI interfaces, whereas the
Demonstrator only supports the U interface. What does this mean...?
You'll need two NT1's in order to make your connection if this is the case.

I found out my problem. I am using a Demonstrator, even though the person
who sold it to me told me that it was a Teltone-2000. To compound the
problem, one of my straight through cables only has pins 1, 2, 3, and 6. I'm
glad I had a few NT1s sitting around.

You could try and find a used Simline2, or you could purchase a couple of
ISDN lines and have them installed in your home. Probably cost you $60/mo
or so for two lines, or you could go with one line for $30 or so and break
out the B channels (although you wont be able to do multilink if
you need to look everywhere on the internet. I

I would suggest when you are ready for the ISDN, to rent a rack with the
simulator rather then try to bluff your way through it using a sim program.
That way you can try all kinds of configs, not just what the sim has.

It really doesn't matter which one you choose. NI1 is a standard that will
run on AT&T's 5ESS and Northern's DMS switch types. If it were me, I'd get
the NI1 standard, but there's not a heckuva lot of different in the configs
of the two types.
