Over the past 3 days I have gotten over an hour and a half of
taxi time in. It does work taking it slow and working up to each new
speed. A week ago when I first taxied I could not imagine going over 20
mph, as it progressed and I learned when and how much rudder to put in
the speeds

I repaired my brake line yesterday and I have to admit that the failure
was partially my fault. When I took it apart I noticed that I had
tightened the plastic furrel down so tight that it was squeezed up
through the top around the tubing. Clamping it together that hard
compressed the tubing i

followed was the practice of structural steel beams of keeping the hole
in the center of the height and there is also a formula of hole size to
web height that tells you when you need to start to reinforce the web.

Larry -- Please be more specific. This is the first negative report that
I know of in the 9 years that I have been building . I used the West
system for all glass lay ups in my KR. Not for wood. I did replace the
pumps about 1 1/2 years ago just because that had become gooey and hard

I'm trying to complete a POH for my 2S and I thought that I would
get an accurate square footage area for the wings. I carefully measured
them and did the math (a couple times) I come up with 70.34 sq. ft total.

When I wraped the edges I used a regular clothes iron on a medium heat
and went over the edges to get a crisp and tight corner. But if you try

Thanks for the early morning heart attack. But I just checked mine out
and it still seems to be flexible and easy to peel. The big difference
being that I have no primer on the canopy yet. It has been sitting masked
and ready for over 2 years. The masking tape seems to peel easy also.

Yep-- been there -done that! just drill thru the middle with a smaller
bit. Some times they spin out with the drill bit as the pressure is
relived. That sounds like a good idea on the surface but in the end
caused me more grief than one or two nuts with epoxy in them would have.

I made mine out of steel angle after seeing Jim F's. last year. I did
not make it any longer than needed than to get 2 bolts in to hold the
lead on and I held the lead as far forward as possable to just clear the
spar to keep the lead weigth to a min. I'll check the sizes after church

I just finished doing a couple fuel flow tests. The first is in
level flight attitude from full stock Rand/Robinson header tank with 11.5
gal. gravity feed. The result is 22.75 gal per hour.
The second was also from full header tank but with the plane in a
12.5 degree nose up

I don't know the actual fuel consumption at full power but was at this
point guessing at 8 gph. max. I don't find any restrictions in the system
but there are more turns than I would have had if I had originally

Brian- I have mine just about finished fitting. The corvair fits in the
cowl fine. I did not mill the intakes off so I will have the bumps on
top. I also used Mark
