We had a similar issue, if you are using SSL check if the end point URL has
SSL. The other thing you can check is adding ?WSDL at the end of the endpoint
URL.

Re: Remedy Developer Performance Metrics

2014-06-05 Thread Roney Samuel Varghese.
A good start for metrics could be the number of bugs/issues raised against a
development effort and the number of occurrences of the same behavior over a
period of time.

Do you have single sign on? If you do check if users are connected to two
environments at once. Some of the SSO solutions don't like this and times out
users based on their logged in environments. You can alternatively check the
tomcat and midtier timeout parameters.

Shawn,

We had a similar requirement, the only difference being the confidentiality was
supposed to be in the worklog instead of the Help Desk form. We repurposed the
view option on the Helpdesk form and added a third option of confidential to
public and locked options while configuring row level access on the HPD:Worklog
form.

Is your push field appending "Unrestricted Access" to the user form as well?
You need to push to the CTM:People Permission group form as well which will
take care of the user form.

Re: SSO / AREA LDAP question

2013-03-14 Thread Roney Samuel Varghese.
The Bmc OOTB SSO Plugin is very easy to break since it only depends on http
header authentication. It has nothing to do with LDAP or AD. the scenario
changes if you use the basic SSO with site minder or an external authentication
plugin with a hub.

The best way you can start troubleshooting the issue is to turn ON debug
logging on the plugin and turn ON your plugin logs on the server and identify
the API calls when the account gets locked.

We use JSS SSO plugin and cannot be happier with the support and the security
features of the product.

Re: HELP - ITSM 7 email engine won't run

2007-12-01 Thread Roney Samuel Varghese
Eli,
 Did you check the incoming/outgoing Pop3/SMTP account and check if they
are working fine? Looks like you did not miss anything however you can turn
on debug mode on the email engine

Try turning on logging:
The logging.properties file can be found in the $JAVA_DIR/lib directory.
The values that are valid are SEVERE, WARNING, INFO, CONFIG, FINE, FINER,
FINEST and ALL. Anything lower than CONFIG is mainly just used for
debugging purposes (it is VERY, VERY verbose). The value must be entered in
UPPER case. You will need to restart your emaild daemon for this change to
take effect (emaild.sh stop as armonitor should restart it).

To increase your logging level in the logging.properties file, open the
logging.properties file and add or modify the following lines to read:

handlers=java.util.logging.FileHandler,java.util.logging.ConsoleHandler

com.remedy.arsys.emaildaemon.ARSystemHandler.level=FINEST

com.remedy.arsys.emaildaemon.level=FINEST

handlers= java.util.logging.FileHandler,
java.util.logging.ConsoleHandler

java.util.logging.ConsoleHandler.level = FINEST

To enable debug mode, add this option to the line that starts the Java
process in the emaild.sh script, then stop and start the email engine:

-Dmail.debug=true

Change from:
exec ${JAVA_BIN}/java -Djava.library.path=${InstallPath} -cp ${CP_PATH}
com.remedy.arsys.emaildaemon.EmailDaemon -d ${InstallPath} >${LogFile} 2>&1

To:
exec ${JAVA_BIN}/java -Djava.library.path=${InstallPath} -Dmail.debug=true -
cp ${CP_PATH} com.remedy.arsys.emaildaemon.EmailDaemon -d ${InstallPath}
>${LogFile} 2>&1

After turning the debug logs

Try to add a maximum heap size, you must add the following code to the
registry:
Key:
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Remedy Email Engine\Parameters
Tag:
JVM Option Number 2
Value:
-xm
You must also modify the JVM Option Count from 2 to 3

Hopefully this will give you some insights on what exactly is happening.

Roney Samuel Varghese

Dear Eli,
  You could check the NTE:SYS-Group NT Control,
NTE:SYS-Individual NT Control and the NTE:SYS-NT Process control form and
delete any records that exists on this form. This would clear any
notifications that are stuck if this does not solve the problem delete all
the records in the notification log form and NTE:Notifier form, that should
definitely fix this problem. do let me know how it goes. HTH

Re: Email Engine Attachments

2007-11-22 Thread Roney Samuel Varghese
Dear Craig,

Looks like the attachment gets converted to winmail.dat file on the
microsoft exchange incoming mailbox before it reaches remedy, this normally
occurs if you have html formatting, however I am still confused, since you
have already mentioned that you were receiving emails in plain text format.

One solution to the problem is to visit http://www.biblet.com and download
the WMDecode program found there. This will at least allow you to decode the
winmail.dat files and extract any useful attachments from them.

Other than this, there's not much you can do on your end to fix the problem,
since it's not your email program generating the problem. If you just don't
want to deal with the problem, the other approach is to reply to the
individual who sent you the offending email and ask that they re-send the
message, with the attached files, as a plain text message, not in Rich Text
Format or HTML.

*This is what microsoft says : *
To resolve this problem, use the plain text format. To do this: 1. On the
Tools menu, click Options, and then click Mail Format.
2. In Compose in this message format, click to select Plain Text, and then
click OK.
NOTE: To send to certain recipients that use RTF format and others
recipients that use plain text format, you must set the option for the
recipient in either the Personal Address Book or the recipient's contact
record.

Use the following steps to remove the RTF format from the recipient
attribute in the Personal Address Book: 1. On the Tools menu, click Address
Book.
2. In Show Names From, click the Personal Address Book.
3. Select the addressee that you want to set as plain text, and then click
Properties on the File menu.
4. In the SMTP-General tab, click to clear the Always send to this recipient
in Microsoft Exchange rich text format check box, and then click OK.
Use the following steps to set plain text in the recipient's contact record:
1. Open the recipient's record in the Contacts folder.
2. Double-click the recipient's e-mail address.
3. In the E-Mail Properties dialog box, click Send Plain Text only under
Internet Format.

Hope this helps

Re: SSO on the Midtier

2007-11-22 Thread Roney Samuel Varghese
Dear Tai D,

I have highlighted the steps below

   - You need a custom SSO plugin on the midtier and changes to your
   config.properties file which would now point to this SSO plugin for
   authentication instead of default authentication.
   - You need the another plugin on your ARS server which would help you
   to authenticate the users who came in through the midtier with some
   condition say the Midtier Ip Address with an entry of the plugin in the
   ar.cfg file so that plugin server loads the plugin.

There is so much more to it, did you already implement SSO on the midtier
you can start with these let me know if you require any more information.

  I am sure you have but to be on the safer side have you
checked the AR System Email Error Logs form for any possible errors. Also
try using the logging.properties file that you can use for debugging the
email engine which is usually found in the Java lib directory. I am sure you
have checked the filter notify actions. I guess one of the last resorts
would be to upgrade the email engine to patch 3. Hope this helps

SSO, as we were unable to retrieve any headers for the remoteuser()

Re: CMDB's BMC_Person class: usage?

2007-07-09 Thread Roney Samuel Varghese

Hey Bob,

I beleive the BMC_Person class stores information about the people who
manage and depend on the other CIs in your environment. The First question
you need to ask yourself depending on your environment is Can People be
Configuration Items in your environment? According to me the answer is an
overwhelming "yes." People can and should be CIs because they represent an
organization's human assets. Therefore, the CMDB should include data about
the relationship of an event to the business customers who rely on a
service, as well as the relationship of an event to the personnel required
to resolve it in the incident management process. This relationship
information relies upon data about People CIs.

Because a person's functions can change often, all of this information can
get complicated. If someone gains additional technical certifications, that
person
can now assist on different types of events. Maintaining People CIs in your
CMDB can help keep all the information straight.

You might argue that most of these attributes and relationships are already
maintained in ITSM 7 using the People form however I believe that CMDB is
the right way to maintain these relationships which of course would be a
painful process for every company to go through and because of which I guess
BMC has given us an option of venting our thoughts of implementing the right
CMDB with ITSM 7. Hope this helps.

Re: ARS7 install with oracle 10G RAC ... the saga continues ...

2007-07-09 Thread Roney Samuel Varghese

This is what Tony is talking about the response we got from support

Question : What is the average Remedy service startup time for an ITSM 7
OOTB Application on a Oracle 10 g Box

There is no simple answer for this question. There are a number of factors
that would effect the time taken. However a ball park figure of between 5
and 10 minutes would be reasonable.

Please let me know if this answers your question.

Thanks, Would it be possible for you to send me the list of factors
affecting the service startup time on Oracle since some of my friends have
the same config on an SQL box and they say their service startup takes less
than a minute. Any help would be higly appreciated.
Thanks
Roney
==
Unfortunately, there is no benchmark spec for this as there are many
variations of install. However, below is a list of factors (in no particular
order) that will effect Server startup:

Platform/Memory/Disk/OS/DB/Separate DB Server?/Applications
Combinations/Applications Languages/AR options.

So now you know what support has to say about the query...

Re: How to create an AD account using Remedy vendor form?

2007-06-25 Thread Roney Samuel Varghese

Dear Dmitry,

LDAP_OBJECT_CLASS_VIOLATION: Indicates that the add, modify, or modify DN
operation violates the object class rules for the entry. For example, the
following types of request return this error:

  1. The add or modify operation tries to add an entry without a value
  for a required attribute.
  2. The add or modify operation tries to add an entry with a value for
  an attribute which the class definition does not contain.
  3. The modify operation tries to remove a required attribute without
  removing the auxiliary class that defines the attribute as required.

So in your case I believe the 1 or 2nd case holds true. Try to validate all
the date before you push the data to the vendor form. If you have problems
generating a request id use a Request ID generator form instead. Hope this
helps

Regards.

Dear Patrick,
  Ask your DBA to check the archive logs which might have
run out of extents. All Diary fields are created as clobs on an Oracle

Re: View Forms SQL (ARS) to ORACLE (non-ARS)

2007-06-01 Thread Roney Samuel Varghese

Dear Carol,
There are multiple ways to do this. You can either use EIE
(RLO) which can help you to pull data from the external Oracle table to the
Remedy Database, or you can create a database link between ARSystem Database
and the external table in Oracle using ODBC drivers. Once the DB link is
created with appropriate permissions (Read, Write, Execute) you can create a
view form from within Remedy, however the Oracle table would require a
unique key which you should be designated as the request id and AR System
uses five different Oracle data types for columns: number (15, 0),
float, varchar, blob, and clob.

Hope this helps

Re: Where to put cell phones & PDAs in CMDB?

2007-05-30 Thread Roney Samuel Varghese

Dear Rick,
  We had the same confusion and we decided to create a
categorization class under BMC_ComputerSystem for the PDA's since the PDA's
are actually glorified computer systems. Also the best thing to do would be
to get the Telecommunication extensions which does include a separate class
for Phones, If that's not possible I would categorise the Phones under
BMC_Equipments.

Hope this helps

associated components, which it seems should go into some related subclass,
in which BMC_ComputerSystem would work better as the
Class. But ComputerSystem really doesn't fit that type of Asset.

There really aren't very many attributes to import, and nothing specific
enough to necessitate adding even an attribute to an existing class, though
adding Categorizations is definitely an option.

Has anyone made this choice before?

Re: Display Timezone in Mid-Tier after Login

2007-05-24 Thread Roney Samuel Varghese

Dear Geoffrey,

In login.jsp we generate a html  tag, <script src="<%=
request.getContextPath()%>/shared/TimezoneFinder.js" defer=1>,
which references our TimezoneFinder.js file located in /shared under the
Mid-Tier web application install directory. Because we're running on the
client side we can create a new JavaScript Date object and figure out the
timezone on the local client, for example on a PDT(Pacific Daylight Time) PC
the timezone is determined by the TimezoneFinder.js file to be
America/Dawson, this value is sent to Mid-Tier. As Mid-Tier begins
constructing the user's SessionData it performs the following checks:

Does the user logging in have a entry in the AR System User Preferences
form? If yes then overwrite the timezone value sent, such as America/Dawson,
with whatever value that is found in the preferences form on the Locale tab
in the Timezone field.

Is there no entry in the AR System User Preference form for this user? If
there is not then is there a value from passing through
login.jsp/login_common.js
and the TimezoneFinder.js file, such as the America/Dawson value? If yes,
then use this value as the timezone for the user. If neither of these is
true then default to the timezone of the Mid-Tier host machine.

Now, once the form starts generating we enter a class in Mid-Tier which is
responsible for emitting the file userdata.js and it's contents, in
particular the value for var timezoneRules. The file userdata.js is auto
generated by Mid-Tier as each user logs in to the system. The variable
timezoneRules has a structure containing values which helps the client side
code know what offsets should be used when determining the correct display
values for AR System Date and Date/Time fields. How is the value for this
variable determined? Using the passed in Timezone name determined from one
of the above steps, running TimezoneFinder.js or the existence of a AR
System User preference entry, Mid-Tier looks in the
/resources/standard/javascript/timezone directory for a .js file that it can
match up to the passed in timezone name. For example if the passed in value
is America/Dawson, Mid-Tier loads America_Dawson.js, inside of which is the
var timezoneRule declaration and value, which is put into the generated
userdata.js file.

Hope this helps,

Regards,

Roney Samuel Varghese

"Whose child is this?" I asked again
As the door opened and someone came in
"Mine", said the teacher with the same tender smile
"Mine, to keep just for a little while
To teach him how to be gentle and kind
To train and direct his dear little mind
To help him live by every rule
And get the best he can from school"

"Whose child is this?" I ask once more
Just as the little one entered the door
"Ours" said the parent and the teacher as they smiled
And each took the hand of the little child
"Ours to love and train together
Ours this blessed task forever."

I thought I would share this poem with all my fellow Lister's on the

Dear Rogerio,

Re: ITSM 7 People import methodology

2007-05-09 Thread Roney Samuel Varghese

Dear Rick,

We had initially planned to load the data feed via EIE through RLO, however
our EIE got all messed up and then we had to shift to using the staging form
on a view form. Our staging form does all the validations before we submit
data to any of the actual ITSM forms. The Stages we go through are mentioned
below

1. Get the GUID using the CTM:CFGPeopleTagNumgenerator form
2. Submit the entry to the CTM:People Form
3. Receive the person Id
4. Create the permission entries for the default user depending on the
company the user belongs to using the
CTM:People Permission Groups form (We have multitenancy turned ON)
5. Submit the permission changes to the User form.

There were some particular filters on the CTM:People form that checked for
the access rights for the user AR ESCALATOR which had to be modified.

Hope this helps.

Looking into a smilar solution, but the staging form will be a
display-only form. We will import from a csv file. (EIE is not an
option, so we using our own generic import-program)

Re: Change Request and Change Task lite versions included in Remedy Help Desk 6.0

2007-04-22 Thread Roney Samuel Varghese

Dear Tom,
  We had implemented a custom Approval process for a custom
built application on ARS 6.3. Initially the requirement consisted of
Managers being able to approve the change request, after which then the
request gets processed, however as we were building the application the
requirement changed and we now we had multiple layers in the approval
process, Once that was completed we had another requirement where the
approving managers wanted to approve the request using a read license since
they did not have a lot to do on remedy, so the moral of the story is to get
your requirements right the first time, Building an application around the
CHG:Change form would not be as difficult as it is to get everyone on the
same page and define a generalised process for everyone.

Hope this helps

Dear Joe,
The company information has to be imported on the COM:Company
form, but be careful before you do that. Things you need to b sure before
you load the company information

1. Check the tenancy mode
2. Identify Vendors, Manufacturing, and Operating companies
3. Analyze the people load and make a decision on who gets what permission.
(General Access, Unrestricted Access etc..)
4) Identify the support group for each company (optional)

Hope this helps

Now I'm not 100% sure that is all that you need, change the name in both

Re: attachment filename when using mid-tier

2007-04-15 Thread Roney Samuel Varghese

Dear Vinson,
  We were facing a simlar problem and we wrote a SQL
function to strip off the leading path.

Here's that function code:

SET QUOTED_IDENTIFIER OFF
GO
SET ANSI_NULLS ON
GO

CREATE FUNCTION fnFindFileName (@InputString as varchar(255))
RETURNS varchar(128)
AS
BEGIN
DECLARE @EvalString varchar(255),
   @EvalCharacter char(1),
   @OutputString varchar(128),
   @counter int
SET @counter = len(@InputString)
SET @EvalString = @InputString
SET @EvalCharacter = RIGHT(@EvalString,1)
SET @OutputString = ''
WHILE @counter>0 AND @EvalCharacter<>'\'
BEGIN
   SET @OutputString = @EvalCharacter + @OutputString
   SET @EvalString = LEFT(@EvalString,LEN(@EvalString)-1)
   SET @EvalCharacter = RIGHT(@EvalString,1)
END
RETURN @OutputString
END

GO
SET QUOTED_IDENTIFIER OFF
GO
SET ANSI_NULLS ON
GO

We wrote that function result to a temp field, then We used the following
RUN PROCESS command: PERFORM-ACTION-SAVE-ATTACHMENT to save the attachment.

Hope this helps.

Re: Remedy 6.3 and 7.0

2007-04-15 Thread Roney Samuel Varghese

Dear Katherine,

I would recommend MidTier 7.0 for these reasons,

  - Admins can use the prefetch utility and save time for loading those
  forms on the web for the first time.
  - Users can run remedy reports on the web.
  - Users can customise their table field and sort it accordingly.
  - MdTier 7.0 can now display check boxes as check boxes and not as
  drop down list that helps me for my shopping cart applications built on
  remedy.
  - It comes with a sample SSO Plugin.
  - Users can save their searches and run saved searches just like
  macros on the user tool.
  - With Midtier 7 you can also have CSS style sheets for individual
  fields and forms.

Hope this helps.

2007-04-09 Thread Roney Samuel Varghese

Dear Shawn,
  What kind of Database are you using and what level of
integration are you looking at...I believe Team Foundation Server comprises
two components: The application tier and the data tier. The application tier
is a set of web services that provide access to TFS functionality, and a web
portal and document repository facilitated by Windows SharePoint Services,
whereas the data tier is essentially a Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Standard
installation that warehouses all the information for TFS, If you are looking
at a integration at a sharepoint level you can consider any configurable
item as a CI and use CMDB to relate your project to the incident, You can
make it simpler by using web services or if you have a requirement for real
time data transfer you can also consider a DTS link between the databases
(the last one could be tricky with ITSM 7 though)...Hope this helps

Re: Approval Server issues

2007-03-24 Thread Roney Samuel Varghese

Dear Jim,

When you start an approval process for a ticket, a record is created for the
approval process in AP:Detail.
You can have multiple approvals run against a Change ticket, but only one at
a time.

This error says that an attempt was made to start an approval process
(Application New-Details
command), but there is already an active approval process against this
ticket since there is an active
record in AP:Detail. Cancel or Approve the previous AP:Detail record. To
identify the record, open AP:Detail
in search mode and in the Request field, place the ticket number of the
record that the approval process is
being run against.

Also check the notification filters for the join form information. Try
running arjoinfix on the other join forms as well..

Hope this helps

After the recent upgrade to 6.3 the Approval engine ceased to function on
our production, Unit Test and development environments, but worked fine on
our functional test environment.

We found that the Approval server in the other environments was suddenly
referencing a joing which was similar to the AP Detail Signature join but
had been created for reporting.

In development we removed these joins and ran arjoinfix. This fixed the
issue in dev. We did the same in function test (although there was no
problem, just for consistency) and it was fine. Now we have done it in
Unit
test and it still does not work. Specifically the approval server logs
are
showing an error stating "* No Entry-Detail-Signature join form to send

We're open to all suggestions and ideas at this point.
Remedy has of course suggested upgrading the approval server to 6.3 but
noone thus far has been able to confirm this wont cause issues with the

Re: cmdbsvr20.dll: The specified module could not be found.

2007-03-24 Thread Roney Samuel Varghese

Dear Cardoso,

1. Click on the Change Pending record in the Class Manager and click on the
View Log button. If there was an error in synching the class, the status
will say Error and give an error message. If the status is "Pending", it
either means the arcmdbd process never issued the CMDBSyncMetaData API call,
or the process is still happening within the CMDB API.

2. Check if the arcmdbd server process is running, and if the dispatcher
(arsvcdsp) server process are running on the server. If not, verify both are
listed in the armontor.cfg/conf file. This server process is responsible for
telling the CMDB to build the class.

3. Enable arcmdbd logging by adding CMDB-Debug: T and CMDB-Debug-Level: 5 to
the ar.cfg/conf file and restart the AR Server. If no log file is generated,
comment out the line from armonitor.cfg/conf file and run that line from the
console to verify the arcmdbd is running properly.

4. Verify the shared libraries for CMDB 2.0 are specified in the ar.cfg/conf
file, and if not, correct the issue and restart the AR Server:

Load-Shared-Library: cmdbsvr20.dll,or libcmdbsvr20.sl, or libcmdbsvr20.so

Load-Shared-Library-Path:

5. Enable API logging in BMC Remedy Administrator. Below is an example of
how the CMDB API calls appear in the ARAPI log:

  /* Sat Apr 01 2006 21:19:
47.9234 */+SYNC CMDBSync -- from Unidentified Client (protocol 12) at IP
address 172.23.33.40

In CMDB 2.0, the CMDB API calls and their results are written to the
ARServer API log. The AR API calls that implement the work are also listed
afterward, so it is easy to correlate which AR API calls are issues to
perform the work of the CMDB.

Hope this helps

Re: ITSM 7.02 and Mid Tier 7.01

2007-03-21 Thread Roney Samuel Varghese

Dear Theo,
A 404 error means that the server has not found anything
matching the Request-URI. No indication is given of whether the condition is
temporary or permanent. The 410 (Gone) status code SHOULD be used if the
server knows, through some internally configurable mechanism, that an old
resource is permanently unavailable and has no forwarding address. This
status code is commonly used when the server does not wish to reveal exactly
why the request has been refused, or when no other response is applicable.
 Have you installed the Servlet Exec as an ISAPI or a
service? Also did you try patching the Sevlet Exec with the latest patch?
Also check if you can access any local jsp files on the IIS server. Hope
this helps

Re: Export application from 5.1.2 import into 6.3

2007-02-20 Thread Roney Samuel Varghese

Dear Gregory,
   For an export on the 4.0.3 version, a 4.5 version and
the V5.1 ARClean should be used. ARClean utility is used to rid a definition
file of hard-coded server name references and will replace the references
with a placeholder. The @ symbol which AR Server recognizes as a placeholder
for the server name, renders the workflow objects contained in the
definition file server-independent. Workflow will now use the name of the
currently connected AR Server when a server name is required. The ARClean
utility can be downloaded from Supportweb in the Developers Community
section within Community Downloads. When searching for the utility, note the
download type is "Utility" and the Category is "Maintenance". Hope this
helps.

Re: Upgrade from V5 to V6.3

2007-02-20 Thread Roney Samuel Varghese

Dear Sean,

Option 1:
1. Perform a database backup of the ARSystem database on your production V5
server
2. Restore the above database backup to new server machine
3. Install AR System 6.3 onto new server machine, when it asks to overwrite
the database or upgrade, select upgrade.
4. Download the latest patch for AR System 6.3 and install (server,
user and admin tool patch)
5. Export all active links and menus to a DEF file using the 6.3 admin tool
6. Run arclean against the DEF file (you may need to run several times to
look for all the different server references you have)
7. Import the character menus and active links back into the system using
the 6.3 admin tool.
8. Then *test* the application - ALL aspects to ensure it is functioning -
all menus, workflow and as the different users of the system to ensure their
permissions and functionality is the same as the existing production
system. A test plan is a good idea so you know how it functions in the
existing environment and to ensure it functions the same in the new
environment.

Option 2:
1. Install your database and AR System 6.3 on your new server machine
2. Download the latest patch for AR System 6.3 and install (server,
user and admin tool patch)
3. Identify all changes to the group/user forms and added menus/workflow as
compared to the 6.3 group/user.
4. Apply the group/user changes by hand to the 6.3 group and user forms
using the 6.3 admin tool.
5. Using your V5 admin tool export your forms and related workflow to a DEF
file.
6. Run ARCLEAN against the above DEF file - you may need to run several
times for each server reference you want to remove.
7. Using the 6.3 admin tool import the forms from the above DEF file.
8. Using the 6.3 admin tool import the menus from the above DEF file.
9. Using the 6.3 admin tool import the filters, active links and escalations
from the above DEF file.

Option 3:
1. Install your database and AR System 6.3 on your new server machine
2. Download the latest patch for AR System 6.3 and install (server,
user and admin tool patch)
3. Purchase and Install Migrator product to perform the migrator between
the two servers. This product also can produce differences reports as
well. It functions at the API level.

Option 4:
Hire Remedy Consulting to help with the upgrade/migration of your server.

NOTE: The ARCLEAN utility is an unsupported utility.

Hope this KB article helps you..

2) Direct to Login Page
Edit your logout.jsp page with the javascript provided below. This script
will redirect your logout page after 5 seconds to the page/form you desire.

Your message here

/*
Count down then redirect script 2

//specify redirect url
var redirecturl="http:localhost/arsys/home"
//specify pause duration before redirection (in seconds)
var pausefor=5

//DONE EDITING

function postaction(){
if (window.timer){
clearInterval(timer)
clearInterval(timer_2)
}
window.location=redirecturl
}
setTimeout("postaction()",pausefor*1000)

<!--
body
   {
   font-size:12px;
   font-family:Arial;
   color:00
   }
#increment
   {
   filter:blendTrans(duration=1)
   }

Loading...
<!--

{
document.write("<td id=increment width=10 height=20></td>") // you could
set the length of the loadbar by changing the upper limit of the for
statement.
}

3) Auto-launch into original form
If you have SSO working and if you give the URL for the original form, the
javascript on the logout.jsp page will automatically open the form else it
will open the login.jsp page.

Hope this helps

Re: ITSM 7 MidTier Install

2007-01-31 Thread Roney Samuel Varghese

Dear Frank,
Do you get a message on the status bar which says user
unable to load userdata.js ? If you do then to resolve this you need to have
an AR System User Preference entry setup with the correct Timezone set for
each user. Hope this helps.

Regards,
Roney Samuel Varghese

We are running ARS 6.03 p20 on Solaris and the MidTier is running on LINUX

I seemed to have been able to install midTier 7 Patch1. I can get the
login
page to appear but then the next pages are all blank, with the NO source
code.

Any thoughts?

Dear Janet,
  If the DB is on another box, Check for database locks,
which might be caused when you tried to restart the services. Hope this
helps
