Re: [Timed Access Lists]

hi friends

I am also looking for this type of solution

I want to give www access to specific users at one time and other group of
users at another time.

Please give me few tips.

Has anyone ever used timed access lists?

I'm wondering if I can specify multiple times and days and still process
through the list or will I exit the list after a test condition is
compared... This is getting hard to verbalize but I'll give it a shot...

ie:

I want to limit www browsing on one time schedule during the week and a
different time schedule during the weekend.

Setting up two time ranges is not a problem

Now I need to write the access list

deny tcp any any eq http time-range no-http-weekdays
deny tcp any any eq http time-range no-http-weekends
permit ip any any

will this work or will http traffic exit the list after the first test
condition?

Thanks

Tim

I listed mine this way..
· CCNP - Cisco Certified Network Professional, Jun 2000

· CCNA - Cisco Certified Network Associate, May 1999

I liked the way it showed progress

I was asked an interesting question this morning by a
friend who just passed their CCNP. Basically they
wanted to know if they should now remove the CCNA from
their resume or list both CCNA and CCNP.

I took the position that (as I do) the CCNP implies
the CCNA, and therefore one would only list their
'highest' within a track. A number of co-workers said
no, list it all.

Please chime in with your position - unicast if your
just sending a vote and multicast if you are raising a
discussion. Sorry to those who feel this is an
improper use of the board.

Thanks.

Re: Flash partitions merged?

First erase the second partition with 'erase flash'. You will be prompted
for the info it needs. Once you have successfully done that, go to global
config and type 'partition flash 1 16'

RE: Flash partitions merged?

2001-01-26 Thread 謝建成

Yes, you can.

Example 1: make a built-in flash with 2 partiton(8Mb each) into 1 partiton

Router#conf t
Router(config)#partition ?
  WORD Partition system flash devices
Router(config)#partition flash:
Router(config)#partition flash: ?
<1-8> Number of partitions in device
Router(config)#partition flash: 1 ?
  <1-64> Size of partition 1

Router(config)#partition flash: 1 16

Example 2: make a built-in flash with 1 partiton(16Mb) into 2 partiton(8Mb each)

Router(config)#partition flash: 2 16 16

Also, you can load 2 IOS into two partiton within a flash. This is a good
for all mission critical router.

Example 3

Router(config)#boot system flash:1:c2600-12-7-.bin
Router(config)boot system flash:2:c2600-11-3-.bin

Router will boot from the first flash partition. If router could not find
that image, it will try the second flash partition.

OT: RE: Certifications on resumes

2001-01-26 Thread Bill Sucevic

To ellaborate on what you were saying, because many recruiting firms scan
the resumes into a database, and index them based on key words (certs,
protocols, etc.), it is sometimes best to send them a text copy of a
detailed resume, for archiving into their database, and offer the recruiter
that you are working with a "formal" copy of a scaled down, single page,
well formatted, professional looking resume that looks good printed out,
for sending to the potential employers.

I've used every trick possible within MS Word to fit as much as I possibly
can onto a single piece of paper. I've changed the line spacing to be less
than one, I've changed the space between letters, maxed out the margins,
changed the point size of the font (I'm currently using 9 point Arial,
anything smaller would require a magnifying glass), and I even eliminated
the common practice of placing an email line in the header to gain an extra
line at the bottom.

BTW, I once had an interviewer make a quiz based on what I claimed to have
experience with on my resume. Since I have used the same resume for 8
years, and have only added to it, there were alot of things on there that I
have not worked with in a long time. I passed the quiz, only missing one
question. The interviewer explained that over half the people he
interviews fail to get a passing score on a quiz based on what they claim
to know on their resumes.

So remember to NOT include things that you may have completely forgotten,
or are completely obsolete, when listing your skills.

Examples: Arcnet, VMS, PDP-11, MS-DOS 3.3, X.25, Localtalk, LAT, XNS,
Vines...

Not to be negative, but typically when you just start getting ready for the lab in a
short time span like this, I would say prepare on scheduling your next date to take it
again (nothing directed towards you, but this why there is an 80-85% fail rate)
Do you have any hardware to practice on, or are you going in blind?

You have to be sure you have deleted any files from flash #2, then "no partition" the
simms and you can turn them both into one 16Mb space.

I had alot of support experience and hands on switching experience when I
started on the CCNP path.
I am taking the tests in the following order.

Support, Switching, Remote Access and Routing.

I am taking the BCRAN Friday Feb 16. Then studying alot of BGP before I
attempt routing.

RE: Please recommend books for BCRAN

2001-01-26 Thread * *

The Quiggle & Thomas book for BSCN is horrible! I've been talking to the
senior editor of McGraw-Hill/Osborne for a couple of weeks. He maintains
that he'll make all errors go away but I want the book to go away.

I thought the errata (4 pages, single spaced) was a little too much but I
dealt with it. Then as I read through the pages, not only did I find
blatant errors in the diagrams (that were not included in the errata), but
the grammar in the book was unreal, too.

Then I got ta thinkin' (error noted). Why did the company not edit the book
a little more before releasing it? Was it because it knew that the faster
the release, the quicker the profit? Then on top of that, I wondered how
they caught so many errors but missed others? Important configuration
errors? It's painfully obvious now that the editors and writers (and I know
they read this list) really were motivated more by profit and "being first"
on the release than writing a good, quality book.

Unfortunately for me I bought the series of books and some I have now owned
for more than 30 days. I can't take them back for refunds. I got screwed
this time but won't again. I won't touch another book by these group again.

Re: Strange Router CPU Utilisation

2001-01-26 Thread Hugh Pringle

Try doing a sh processes cpu whil the high utilization occurs. This may add
some insight to what is causing the high utilization. I ahve seen a
misconfigured SNMP server cause a situation similar to this.

FS: Cat 5000/2901 switches from my lab

2001-01-26 Thread jon . mccoy

After re-organizing my lab, I find I have too many older Catalyst switches.
If someone's in need of them, I'd sure like to free up some space (and buy
some other toys). These are located in the Seattle area, so a local buyer
would be ideal, otherwise I can package and ship. I will hook them up for
internet access, for the buyer(s) to check them out.

I have two 2901's, each with Sup1 and a 10/100 module
I have a 5000 with a Sup1 and A/C PS, no other modules

I bought these at different times over the past two years, the 2901's for
use as workgroup switches, and the 5000 the CLSC test (not knowing it's the
same as the 2901's I already had). I'm not in desperate need of cash, and
I've seen what they bring on ebay, so please don't waste both our time with
silly offers (and I'm not shipping them outside the US, either) -- however,
I'd rather see the go to someone else's lab, than collect dust in the
corner.

CLARIFICATION on question on route map + access list on same interface,

2001-01-26 Thread george

For sake of argument lets say there is a router that has three interfaces.
e0 to the internal network and two serial routes out to the internet. The
policy is all www traffic will go through S2 and all other traffic will go
through S1. There is an IP policy route (route map) on e0 to accomplish
this. There is also an input ACL blocking some ip's from entering this
router.

Now if a www packet comes from an ip that happens to be blocked by the ACL
will it be routed by the policy route to s2, bypassing the access list and
allowing this address to get out that was supposed to be blocked or will it
have to go through the access list thereby never making it to the route map.

This is a purley hypothetical situation to help with the understanding of
how these interact with each other. Please don't respond with any why in the
world would you want to do this answers. Although I do feel it is relevent
to several situations.

Re: IPsec & NAT

2001-01-26 Thread Gonzalo P.

Friend,

IPSec and NAT work fine with the PIX's and also with the Concentrators.
It is an easy setup, but you have to get used to the NAT 0 command and
access-lists.

Let me know if you run into any issues, I might be able to help.

Cisco Positions Available in Portugal!

2001-01-26 Thread Rob Piotrowski

Hi ,
We are looking for Cisco professionals looking to live in Spain or Portugal!
Great Pay!
Let me know if you have Cisco experience or have colleagues that would be
interested
in this opportunity!
We are looking for certified Cisco Technical Experts and:
We are therefore looking for freelance CERTIFIED CISCO INSTRUCTORS (CCSI)
that have passed the official
Cisco exams and that are willing to work/live in Spain (Madrid or Barcelona)
or Portugal.
This is a long term and well-paid project.

We are also looking for CERTIFIED CISCO ENGINEERS to do technical consulting
work (not training).

Apart from having the official Cisco certification, candidates need to be
fluent in Spanish or Portuguese respectively.
This is an excellent opportunity for people from Latin America and the US
who want
to work (temporarily) in Europe.

Duration:
for training, at least 1 year (or shorter or longer, depending on the
preferences of the freelancer, not the client). for
projects: depends on the preferences of the freelancer.
Price:
aprox. $90/hour for CCSI (instructors):
aprox $50/hour for CCIE (experts)
We are also interested in CC, SI, CCNP and fees depend on profile This may
be quite lower than the US fees, but
with such fees one can live confortably in Spain/Portugal. It would be
especially intereseting for people that because
of personal reasons want to live in Spain/Portugal.
Traing: official CISCO training courses to first-level companies Projects:
there are many different projects available.

Please let me know if you are interested in this opportunity or if you have

Here's your weekly safety brief. Be careful what you wear (or don't
wear), when working under your vehicle...especially in public.

From the Sydney Morning Herald Australia comes this story of a central
west couple who drove their car to K-Mart only to have their car break
 down in the parking lot.

The man told his wife to carry on with the shopping while he fixed the
car there in the lot. The wife returned later to see a small group of
people near the car. On closer inspection she saw a pair of male legs
 protruding from under the chassis.

Although the man was in shorts, his lack of underwear turned private
parts into glaringly public ones. Unable to stand the embarrassment, she
dutifully stepped forward, quickly put her hand UP his shorts and tucked
everything back into place.

On regaining her feet she looked across the hood and found herself
staring at her husband who was standing idly by.

The mechanic, however, had to have three stitches in his head

starting to get a little nervous. Any last minute suggestions from others
who have gone before me? Any tribal chants I should try? I am confident in
my studies but this is the "big one".

Dazed and confused

Re: CCNP test order

2001-01-26 Thread Mihai Dumitru

I passed Remote Access, then Support (weird, I know). My next is
Routing. This sequence is because on my hands-on experience. I have
never touched a Cisco switch till now.

Take the first you feel more prepared to take (but don't begin with
Support). Reiterate.

Re: question on route map + access list on same interface

2001-01-26 Thread Mason Eike

Route-maps are typically used to filter ROUTING PROTOCOL
advertisements either inbound or outboud. An ACL applied to an
interface specifically instead of a routing protocl process using the
"ip access-group" command with filter the interface traffic.

  For instance (and clarity):

You can have an ACL assigned to an interface that permits packets
transmitted from the source 10.0.0.0 network ONLY. Any packet coming
into the interface(ip ACL is applied IN) that has a SA within that
specific network will be permitted, all others dropped.. Now let's
say you have a BGP session with a router at the other end that has an
ip of 10.0.0.2. You are 10.0.0.1. If you have a route-map applied to
the interface that is to match the BGP advertisements to an ACL for
permission and that ACL is filtering for 10.0.0.0/8, 192.168.0.0/16,
etc, the router WILL ACCEPT the 192.168.0.0 advertisement for two
reasons:

  1. Because you are neighboring with a 10.0.0.0 address that is
permitted on the interface ACL
  2. Because 192.168.0.0 is permitted in the BGP route-map ACL.

 Interface ACL checked first.
Routing protocol ACL's checked second, third. etc..

Please let me know if you have any questions.
 Mas

OT Fridays Funnies!

2001-01-26 Thread Natasha

How about "I don't care because I never print it anyway". Its always in
electronic form and its more important to make sure all my experience and
skills are documented then conform to some twisted misconception of
appearance. Those rules don't apply to technical resumes anyway. They
apply to people that have basically no skills and all pretty much look the
same anyway.

Re: Cisco switches or HP switches? Which to buy?

2001-01-26 Thread Bruce Seelinger

Remember - you may not be saving money by buying less expensive hardware
with the same functionality. You need to factor in the support available,
the reliability of the hardware, the uprgadeability, managability, etc.,
etc. You may save several hundred dollars on a switch but that does not add
up to much if your network is down for several hours because of reliability
issues.

I do not have firsthand experience with the HP line if switches so I am NOT
implying that their hardware is unreliable. All I am saying is that you
have to consider the big picture.

Re: Certifications on resumes

2001-01-26 Thread Chris Haller

Yes, but what you fail to realize is that Recruiters
do not care about you nor do they even read your
resume most times. All they care about is stuffing
you into a job they think you are "Perfect" for simply
based on the fact that one word of your resume matches
whats on their client request.

Most recruiters have no experience in the field they
recruit for, and do not know how to sell you to an HR
department because they do not understand what
CCNP/CCIE mean.

Believe me, in IT, what HR thinks about a resume or a
qualified canidata dosent mean squat !!! WHen it
gets into the hands of the IT Manager, he/she will
know who you are

using an AS5300 as a PC's modem

Is there anyway to have a Windows 2000 professional machine use one of the

avoid having to give them a modem and phone line of their own.

RE: Certifications on resumes

2001-01-26 Thread Frank Wells

They will find you. If they were looking for a CCNA and your resume only
had CCNP on it, would you want that job? Probably not. Conversely, if you
have CCNA on your resume and they are looking for CCNP level candidates, you
would not qualify. Either way both parties are saved the time and hassle of
lining up inappropriate solutions to problems.

If you think "well, perhaps the recruiter made a mistake listing this job
requirements" you may be right but it is probably rare. Most companies know
what they are looking for and how to explain to the recruiter what the job
description entails, and they check it for accuracy before it gets posted
publicly.

Are there horror stories and genuine mistakes, of course, but don't waste
your time preparing for them.

Please recommend books for BCRAN

2001-01-26 Thread Tom Keough

Thank you for your help and encouragement, I passed BCMSN with a score of
857 today!! I am now at the halfway point and it feels sooo good.

Please recommend books and any advice for BCRAN will be greatly
appreciated...

I know everyone who takes one of these tests gets a different compilation
but mine today was full of VTP questions...
Again thanks for being there,
Tom

How about "I don't care because I never print it anyway". Its always in
electronic form and its more important to make sure all my experience and
skills are documented then conform to some twisted misconception of
appearance. Those rules don't apply to technical resumes anyway. They
apply to people that have basically no skills and all pretty much look the

Re: CCNP test order

2001-01-26 Thread STRAND Scott

The order I did it was:
Routing, Switching, Remote Access, Support.

Routing was the hardest of the 4 for me. Also, alot of the show and debug commands
that you need to know for the first three tests
showed up on the support exam.made studying for support alot easier which was nice
considering the poorly worded questions on
the exam.

Good luck,
Scott

Cisco switches or HP switches? Which to buy?

2001-01-26 Thread fartcatcher

Hello, we're planning on upgrading our unmanageable switches to manageable
ones. I've been looking at the 2924 XL models and they look like they'll do
for us, but somone told me that hp switches are cheaper and faster than
cisco's. Is this true? Does anyone have an opinion/experience with this? I am
leaning toward Cisco (mainly because I could use the switches for the
switching exam).

RE: redundant NICs - theory question

2001-01-26 Thread Bob Vance

I finally found some info at Intel that discusses it a little.
The product looks really good.
As Allen (and others -- thanks) said, Automatic Load Balancing and
Failover -- just what I wanted.
The Intel site is missing low-level technical details, though, which
I'd like to have.

E.g., I notice that the load balancing is on output only (when
connecting to ports on separate switches or without FEC) -- only the
"primary" NIC is used on input, but no technical reason was given.

This implies that only the "primary" NIC responds to ARP requests, at
least until the standby takes over after a primary link failure.

But, I'm wondering why this is so.
Let's suppose that there are redundant paths thru the switching fabric
and that the 2 NICs in the NT server are connected to 2 different
switches.

ISTM that if both NICs responded to ARP requests that you could achieve
some load sharing on the input side, as well. When a client makes an
ARP request, both NICs see it and respond. Client uses first one it
sees. Some clients would get Mac-A, others Mac-B, so input could flow
in on both NICs.
Now, this would require some driver code to handle this, but I don't see
why this is any more technically difficult than doing the outbound
balancing.

I must be missing something simple (like the last time :), but I'm tired
of thinking about it, so I thought that I'd just ask ;>)

That's what the Intel Adapter Teaming does. Very kewl software. It
detects
when connectivity goes down and will fail over to the other nic if
either
the switch or nic slot fails. You can also set them up where they are
both
live and sharing bandwidth and if one fails the other takes all of the
traffic as well. I think intel.com has all the documentation there.
I've
used it before and didn't have any problems with it.

RE: VPN through ADSL

2001-01-26 Thread Christopher Larson

The problem is not so much the the ISP is assigning an address to your DSL
device through DHCP as the problem of letting the PIX get to the peer
address(which will be the HOST inside not the DSL device).

Since you are using PAT the address from the host will likely always be the
same so it should be o.k.

If you did not know what the client's address would be each time because you
were using NAT (as oppossed to PAT) then you would want to use IKE MODE
CONFIG on the PIX with a wildcard key, or dynamic list on the PIX with a
wild card key.

Subject: VPN through ADSL

I want one of our remote branch to access the internet via ADSL. The remote
branch will have the Alcatel ADSL router that the ISP will provide as well
as a Linksys router behind it for PAT and firewalling capabilities. I also
want to place a Cisco VPN client at a workstation in the remote branch to
connect to Corporate. Corporate has a PIX firewall with VPN capabilities.

My question is - Since the ISP uses DHCP to lease addresses for the ADSL
connection , will this affect my vpn connection?

My Answer is - No since the branch workstation will be PATed anyway.
Interesting traffic as defined by the VPN policy will allow packets to go
through to the Corporate location.

Can anyone verify if this train of thought is correct or is there a better
way to do this ? Basically the remote branch needs access a Unix server in
corporate to be able to send a print job to the branch.

Thank you in advanced

Manolito

Update: CiscoWorks 2000

2001-01-26 Thread Rik Guyler

Well, thanks to all who sent suggestions about increasing the performance of
my CiscoWorks 2000 server. I followed all suggestions sent. The real issue
seems to be unrealistic minimum server specs from Cisco on this product. If
any of you plan to sell or suggest this product, I would advise you to
ignore the minimum specs and go with a much more powerful solution.

My client originally provided the following box:
Single PIII 766
768MB RAM
10GB IDE HDD (bad choice here for sure)

This solution was pathetically slow. I mean, it would literally take 3-5
minutes just to bring up a window (all java code running on an Apache web
server running on NT 4.0 SP5)!

I setup a test server with the following:
Dual PIII 866
1GB RAM
RAID 5 w/3-9.1GB Ultra SCSI-2 drives (yeah!)

This solution kicked butt! So, even though the first box met the minimum
requirements, you would get killed by the client if you brought this to them
to use! Take my advice: buy a "real" server for this suite!

PS I opened a case with TAC. They told me NOT to install CAM as it has been
shown to produce a slower response rather than its intended faster response.
There is also a Java VM upgrade for IE that they told me to get. Search for
Java VM on www.download.com and you will find it.

Sorry for this lengthy post!

That is correct, therefore you need to combine static sap's with loopbacks
(Not necessarily on the same router):

int loopback 0

I have a slightly different approach.

I study my brains out until I think I can pass, then when I go to the test

don't pass I can say, "well, I didn't really expect to" with my head held

That's just my way of protecting my self esteem at the test center.

You're right, but if the recruiter doesn't find you in the system when

RE: Certifications on resumes

2001-01-26 Thread Ole Drews Jensen

I am the Systems Network Manager for an enterprise that has several
recruiting companies under them, which I am responsible for also. Some of
these companies simply scan resumees into a special designed application,
and everytime they need a candidate, the use the search function.

That means that if they need someone with TCP/IP skills and a CCNA cert, you
will not be shown in the results window if you only put your CCNP cert on
your resume.

I know that many companies like resumees to be 1 or max 2 pages long, but
you have to kind of throw it in the air and "smell" what would be the best
thing to do in each individual situation.

I like to have different versions of my resume, so it mainly shows the area
that matches the job functions I am applying for.

I understand keywords are vital if someone from HR is scanning a hundred or

all about including as many buzz words and acronyms in as little space as

One thing I do agree on is the vast majority of HR personnel have no idea

Resume Length (was: Certifications on resumes)

2001-01-26 Thread Bradley J. Wilson

You bring up an interesting topic. I try to keep mine under *four* pages!
;-) Why four? I dunno, just seemed like a good number, I guess. I had one
guy ask me, way back when I was starting out: "Your resume's only *one
page*??" Guess it kinda had an effect on me. ;-)

Anyone else want to chime in? Can we get a bell curve going on what the
average resume length is?

Re: VPN through ADSL

2001-01-26 Thread Gonzalo P.

Manolito..

The key component here is that you will be using the VPN Client...

I have been working with the VPNClient 3000, and it is amazing. (better than
the old client Cisco used to provide--IRE/SafeNet).

The only setting you will need is to allow IPSec through NAT in order for
it to work. It is a setting you configure in the Client and also in the VPN
Concentrator or Firewall.

We do it very often for users in Leased Office Space where another company
allows them to use an Internet connection. I have no control over the
Links/Firewalls but it is not a problem as long as we allow the IPSec to
take place through NAT.

Hope this helps...

Gonzalo.

RE: Early Token release

2001-01-26 Thread dwhitley

There can only be 1 token on a ring at any time. The confusion comes from
thinking that a data frame contains a token it does not. A host takes the
token off the ring and transmits a data frame, when its done tramiting the
data frame (using early token release) it then returns the token to the ring
before it has removed its last data frame.

Hi,
Please solve my confusion for this as I am getting different answers from
different resources..

Early token release

(1) allows one token and more than one frames.
(2) Allows more than one token and more than one frames.
(3)allows more than two tokens and one data frame.

Thanks a lot in advance...

RE: Written Tomorrow..

The traditional chant of the primitive Cisconian tribe (of San Jose Origin)
is to dance around a tribal fire, reading sniffer captures and alternating
between left and right foot as you yell out the bridges and rings that were
traversed by the packet in the proper order - (be sure to change direction
if the RIF should be read from right to left instead of left to right). A
firm authoritative guttural tone should be used and you can have others beat
on the tops of 2501's to keep the beat.

Know your RIF's!

Hope this helps!!!

resume issue. Is there a conflict?

I understand keywords are vital if someone from HR is scanning a hundred or
so resumes, but at the same time they don't want to read a small novel with
footnotes and a bibliography. I know most of my MBA friends would say it's
all about including as many buzz words and acronyms in as little space as
possible. heh

I wonder what Raymond from the jobs groupstudy list will think? I'll be
sure to bring this up with him when I see him.

One thing I do agree on is the vast majority of HR personnel have no idea
what the certs mean (but do they mean anything? that's a whole other topic
right there).

My $.02,

Brandon - holder of various acronyms

VPN through ADSL

2001-01-26 Thread Liwanag, Manolito

Rgds,
Manolito

RE: new transport

2001-01-26 Thread Cisco Support

I total agree and that is the problem -- I don't want to give up the last
Cisco product (other then the PIX) we have. They guys that are pushing
forward with this idea are the switch guys and they are trying to convince
Management. I really don't have a reason other than I want to keep the
router and not use a switch. Fiber to the door is cheaper. However, we
will then be using the YIPES' MAN which they have said is fail proof (yea
right) but I really don't know.

When you recertify your CCNP, your CCNA will be renewed too. If you do not
want recertify your CCNP, you will need to recertify for the CCNA if you
wish to keep it.

If you go to the tracking system, there's some good info about it.

I like the idea of putting a FXS port right next to the CON port of every
router. Pick up the handset, press #1 and get connected to the default
gateway of the first interface, press #2 connected to gateway of the second
interface. Kind of a voice hotline for the next hop of the upstream and

Keep in mind however that the management port is an Out of Band Ethernet port. Hence,

On the cover page, or under the resume "qualifications section", I will list

At the end, under education and certifications, I will list each

It's true that the console input is a DB9, but it does have a management

The Sup 1 and 10 meg card will do all you need for the lab. Don't waste the
extra bucks on the 100MB card unless you plan on keeping the cat for
personal use after you pass the lab. When I bought mine, it had a sup I, 24
port 10MB card, 12 port 100FX card and an ATM LANE module. (Now that they
have taken LANE off the lab, it looks like a big mistake). I've never used
the 100 FX module and the ATM module is no longer needed.

Be sure to keep several code release versions around as they tend to use
older versions of code on the Cat's in the lab.

Hi,

I would like to ask what's the minimum modules I need for a Cat5000 for a
home lab?

I'm considering a SupI(ws-x5009) and a ws-x5010 (24pt 10meg telco ports) or
ws-x5012 (48pt 10meg telco ports).

Is this sufficient for a CCIE lab, the SupI has a 100Meg uplink surely this
is enough to to ISL trunking, routing, etc, etc?

Or should I go for a ws-x5213a (12pt 100Meg). This module is much more
expensive than the other because of the onboard RJ45 and being 100Meg.

Thank you for you advice.

Re: Certifications on resumes

2001-01-26 Thread Kevin Wigle

I have done something similar as Ole,

On my resume I have a section with a running history of exams passed and
courses taken. If passing an exam completed a certification I note that in
brackets. i.e. - 15 July 2000, CID exam passed (CCDP completed)

On the cover page I only list the "senior" certs from a track. The same for
my business card, the senior certs only.

But on job boards I check off every single cert due to searches by HR people
who may not know/understand the progression.

There was a time when I chided people for putting down MCP/MCSE. But I
didn't figure that HR people wouldn't know the difference - they're supposed
to know the market they're recruiting for... right?

right.

Re: Anybody want to sell their CCIE boot camp labs?

2001-01-26 Thread Frank Z

This would violate the license you get when you
purchase the labs. Please simply buy them from
ccbootcamp.com. There has been a lot of time put into
the creation of these labs and I have not seen their
equal for CCIE lab prep. They are the best, so keep
support them directly for the creation of even more
great labs.

RE: Catalyst 5000 for home

2001-01-26 Thread louieb

Subject: Catalyst 5000 for home

Albert
