Re: DLSW+ question

2001-01-30 Thread Groupstudy

IRB is used to perform a limited form of Ethernet to Token Ring
routing/bridging. It was somewhat useful prior to Ciscos implementation of
Source-Route Translational bridging which has a much richer feature set and
capability. DLSW performs Ethernet to Token-Ring translation automatically
and although possible, it is very unlikely you would need to have both IRB
and DLSW configured on the same router.

Anyway, to answer the original post, your configs look OK but we really need
more info to
troubleshoot. My immediate thoughts is whether DLSW can operate over PPP
encapsulation. I would try HDLC and see if that helps. If you have an
access list on either serial port, make sure it opens up the correct tcp
ports to allow DLSW to traverse the wire. The easiest way is just to
temporarily remove the access list and see how you fare. I believe the
correct ports are 2065, 1981, 1982 and 1983. Make sure loopback interfaces
are also in the same routing domain as your peer statements, looks like they
are but...

2001-01-30 Thread Langa Kentane

Greetings.
I am considering upgrading my NT 4.0 Server sp6a that is running CiscoSecure

Has anyone run ACS on Windows 2000 before? Any problems? How is the
perfomance.

Thanks in advance

Possible to use IDSL on original 804 isdn router

2001-01-30 Thread hmt

Has anyone done the following configuration. I have the original Cisco 804
router (not the new 804 IDSL). I used to have ISDN and that works fine. I
just upgrade my link to IDSL and my ISP (Covad) provides a Netopia R3100-T.
I tried to simulate the configuration on the 804 but could not get it to
work. I was able to get up/up on the bri0. This is a similar
configuration I used.
http://www.ieng.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/access/acs_fix/800/10368_01.
htm#xtocid732918

My thinking is the original 804 has NT1 built in (assuming 804 IDSL router
doesn't have NT1 hence the lower list price) and that didn't bode well with
and IDSL link.

Re: Drake CCIE-ISP

2001-01-30 Thread Javier Contreras

Hi
Without breaking the NDA:
-Learn BGP, OSPF
-Understand very well telephonic systems (T1, E1, types of errors,
possible errors in the routers, etc)
-PPP, MLP, Virtual profiles, MLMCPPP are very important
-OSI model
-Check the cisco blueprint of the exam

I would recommend to read VERY carefully the PPP RFC as there is not
a good book out there on the subject (p.e. how PPP state machine works
in LCP negotiation)

Regards.

FREE CCNA training in SAN JOSE

2001-01-30 Thread Phillip K

Hi folks,
1. I have been a member of this group since Sep 98.Been a silent member
largely.( thats better than "fume-chain creator" :-) , I guess).

2. Just want to know if there will be any takers for free CCNA training on
weekends/holidays - for those who cant afford the time or $.
We can expand this to a study circle.

3. I will not - repeat not permit photocopying of the Cisco
books/material/CD's, but can assure that a little systematic training is
enough to clear CCNA, the basic block. The reason why I am doing this is coz
I have to re-cert my CCNA before it expires.

4. I have 7 Routers, 2 clients( old laptop ),one laptop has a Sniffer Pro
installed ( dont really need this for CCNA though ), all the study material
that one needs.

5.If you are anywhere in the Bay area, ping me.

3600 Flash

2001-01-30 Thread CCNA

Hi All,
I need some help.I am replacing the flash memory of my 3620 router
from 16MB (8x2) to 32 (16x2). I have taken out both flash SIMMS and inserted
the new Flash SIMMs
(They are blank). After I inserted the Flash SIMMs the router's "syetem" LED
started blinking constantly. I have also replaced the DRAMs from 24 MB to
64 (16x4) but they are fine.
Following is the error message

System Bootstrap, Version 11.1(20)AA2, EARLY DEPLOYMENT RELEASE SOFTWARE
(fc1)

C3600 processor with 65536 Kbytes of main memory

boot: cannot load "flash:"
System Bootstrap, Version 11.1(20)AA2, EARLY DEPLOYMENT RELRELEASE SOFTWARE

What I want to ask is is it possible that we can insert a brand new flash in
the router and install the new IOS in it provided there is no flash Memory
in it on other slots or I can only upgrade not replace the flash SIMMs with
the new ones???

What should I do to make it work ?? I have a 3640 router also. Can it be of
my help in any way ? How can I insert the new flash of 16MB in 3640
which has 8 MB SIMM and copy the IOS in it and place it back to 3620 ??
Partition like thing ..
Please giude me.

Thanks to All

RE: Has anyone seen a 2901 that has the same i.o.s as 5000 switch

2001-01-30 Thread Stuart Potts

All.

Actually the 2948G is based on the 4000 series switch which is a fix config.
48 10/100 ports plus 2 1000 baseX ports, architectural wise is has 2
non-blocking gig and 6 ASTRODOME thus only 8 of the 12 pipe from the K1 chip
are used.

Re: OK. I feel dumb but asking anyway

2001-01-30 Thread Flem

Natasha ,

When the input queue is overflown ( this is process
switched traffic , it needs cpu intervention ) and the
router is dropping packets because of a queue full
condition ( 76/75 ) then the interface is throttled .

On low end platforms the router stops processing
interrupts from that interface and all packets are
dropped ( the router does not increase the drops or
ignores counter on that interface when it throttles ).

High end platforms behave different .
It will still fast switch traffic but it is not
allowed to enqueue packets to process level when the
interface is in a throttle condition .

It is a defensive behavior .
In general throttles are bad . To much process
switched traffic or to much junk flying in the routers
direction

Re: securemote through pix firewall

2001-01-30 Thread pat

Well am too having the same problem. The issue seems
to be due to address translation the PIX does. The
actual address on the firewall interface(outside) is
different & the secure remote client uses different IP
(IP mapped by PIX) to establish the session. But I
don't understand why authentication fails.

In my case topology dowload goes through, but
authentication fails. If i sit behind PIX everything
is fine. PIX is trnslating Public IP to Private IP.
Let me know if you get to know why this happens.

thanks.

Re: ssl slowing down?

2001-01-30 Thread kent . hundley

0100,0100,0100Times New
RomanThis debug looks normal. Here is a breakdown:

7F00,,ArialNAT: o:
tcp (216.59.x1.x1, 59456) -> (208.4.x.131, 443) [12538]

NAT: i: tcp (20.10.5.13, 443) -> (216.59.61.131, 59456)
[46552]0100,0100,0100Times New
Roman

o or i - indicates (i)nbound or (o)outbound from the perspective of the
NAT process

(216.59.x1.x1, 59456) - indicates the source IP address with source
TCP port of 59456

(208.4.x.131, 443) - indicates destination IP address with destination
TCP port of 443

[12538] - indicates the IP identification field of the packet, this is set by
the sender.

IP identification fields don't necessarily have to be sequential, although
the vast majority of OSes choose them sequentially (the RFC doesn't
specify how they are chosen, only that they must be unique for the
duration of the time they will be active in the network).

However, its not unusual in your case to see gaps in identification
numbers from the server since your not looking at every single packet
from the server, only those that were part of your NAT convesation. It's
very likely that the "missing" sequence numbers were just other packets
going to other destinations.

I don't see anything in this trace that indicates a problem. What you
really need is a sniffer trace of packets going to the workstation that is
having a response time issue and look at the timestamps to see when the
packets are coming in and going out. (or maybe a longer NAT debug
trace showing the same thing)

If you take more debug logs, I would suggest adding the command:

service timestamps debug datetime msec

And make sure your clock on the router is set correctly.

Kent

Re: EBAY bad sellers

2001-01-30 Thread Kevin Wigle

Use one of the escrow services.

You win the auction.

You send the money to the escrow service.

The escrow service tells the seller to ship via a courier with web
searchable shipping.

You get the package, inspect it and you are happy.

You tell the escrow to pay the seller.

Everybody's happy.

But there is a fee of course. Sometimes the seller will split the cost with
you, sometimes not.

also, eBay now has insurance on every transaction, forget the details but
its on their site.

Re: CPU usage question

2001-01-30 Thread Kevin Wigle

I'm always wondering. why are people even bothering with colt?

So many times on this list it has been said that the questions are the "bad
ones" from the betas. So often said that they are wrong.

Why waste your time unless you learn better by looking up the answer to the
question you got wrong because you don't think you're wrong. Kinda like the
reverse telnet of learning - get it wrong (how did you know it was wrong??)
and then learn about it.

Instead of looking up why the test's answer is right and why you're
wrong...

Re: what is the syntax to check top talker?

2001-01-30 Thread Flem

Tong ,

I don't believe the router is the best source in
getting this kind of info .
Probably ip accounting is enabled on the router .
clear ip accounting clears/reset current counters ..

sh ip accounting output ... you can try to figure out
the top talkers browsing the list . I doubt that this
is the best way to do it .

Better is to use a sniffer to get this kind of info .

Top talker is the device (source) that sends the most
packets or bytes (not necessary the same thing) on
your segment .

The top talker on the groupstudy list is the one who
sends most emails to the list ;-)

Re: redundancy

2001-01-30 Thread Tony van Ree

Hi,

Where is your most likely point of failure or is bandwidth the issue. WIll
etherchannel work to the 2NICs. I don't know that the NT server will understand
Etherchannel.

In a study I did recently I found in a network that all the user areas went to a "main
core switch". The servers had two NIC's each going to a separate switch. The "backup
core switch" plugged into the main switch. There was still a single point of failure
to the users "the main core switch". Should the "main core switch" fail there would
be no network. The redundancy only covered the NIC's in this case nor did the second
NIC provide any load sharing.

Just some thoughts.

The thing that has me beating my head against the wall is that I'm
tempted to rephrase the question "what DIFFERENT Cisco IOS command
identifies the router CPU usage in your production (not pilot or
prototype) network."

There is no different command. Ijjits.

Nigel,
"Rooked" is the word , I get similar cables from Hong Kong for that same
price per unit + shipping , for 5 units US$26.95 each , if for some reason I

money that the HK manufacturers are still laughing...

Re: redundancy

2001-01-30 Thread Scott Froese

My two cents worth...

Set up a gigabit Etherchannel ISL trunk between the switches. For the NIC's
use two of the Intel Pro/100's; one homed to each switch. You then
configure the adapters as a "team" in both an adaptive load balancing and
fault tolerance mode. There is fairly decent information on these topics at
www.intel.com.

Make sure that the ports on each switch are in the same VLAN and that the
VLAN is permitted on the trunk.

Hope this helps...

redundancy

2001-01-30 Thread Jim Bond

Hello,

I've got an important NT server and would like to use
redundancy. I've got 2 6509 switches available. What's
the common way to do? Should I put 2 NICs in the
server and enable fast-ether channel? Or should I
seperate those 2 NICs on 2 6509?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Password Changing via SNMP

2001-01-30 Thread dre

You obviously need snmp write access to do this. Also, read the MIBs
involved for more detail.
These can be done using any snmpset utililty, the examples assume UCD-SNMP.
Syntax may vary.
I recommend using SNMPv3 if you are using write access on a network device
(for obvious security
reasons).

snmpset .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.2.1.53.#.#.#.# octetstring
router-confg

where:
the snmp passphrase is the router read-write snmp community string (as in
'snmp-server community private RW')
host is the ip (or DNS name) of the router
#.#.#.# is the ip of the tftp server in which the router-confg file resides
in the /tftpboot directory
router-confg is the name of the file in the /tftpboot directory

After the file is written to ram, copy it to nvram:
snmpset .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.2.1.54.0 i 1

where:
the snmp passphrase is the router read-write snmp community string (as in
'snmp-server community private RW').
is the ip (or DNS name) of the router.
"i" is representing an integer value.

routr-confg files:

Enable password changing/recovery through snmp:
!
enable password cisco
no enable secret
!
end

Breaking into line and console passwords through snmp:
!
line vty 0 4
login
password cisco
!
line con 0
login
password cisco
!
end

Breaking into Tacacs+ through snmp:
!
no aaa new-model
enable password cisco
no enable secret
!
line con 0
login
password cisco
!
line vty 0 4
login
password cisco
!
end

Which Cisco IOS command identifies the router CPU usage in your network

A)  trace
B)  show buffers
C)  show interface
D)  show processes

Re: case studies using PPP authentication

2001-01-30 Thread Tony van Ree

Hi,

We use a lot of PPP Authentication.

First the user needs to authenticate using a ppp chap authentication. The ppp chap
stuff is also checked when the data is being sent to the user on the particular ip
addess.

so what do we have

router#username freddy123 password 7 xxdds@fdgsrg

This can be up to 700+ users

then

router#int d 0
other stuff
router#dialer map ip (an ip address) name freddy123

And more.

This authenticates the user and confirms that data is going to the expected user. PPP
chap authentication does this.

Re: HSRP configuration

2001-01-30 Thread Kirk Bollinger

Use two links between the switches on different cards.

The thing we used to do was use Lancast transceivers which allow one
router port to connect to both switches with a primary and backup. It
senses link on the primary and will failover to the secondary if link
goes down. The rackmount verison has two power supplies for added
redundancy.

hope this helps

Hi all. I lurked on this list for a while last year, and decided come back
and visit.

On a cert note, I have passed CCNA and BCRAN, Switching will be next week
... Damn VLAN's .. :-)

As for your flapping D channel:

Are you using NFAS ?? And why would you take down B channels from the router
? We usually use state 2 (busy)on NFAS from just about any switchtype on the
planet, and everyhting works fine (for testing disco's prior to sending out
orders). I would be curious to see how your SerXX:23 are set up, and what
IOS u r using.

Re: case studies using PPP authentication

2001-01-30 Thread Jim Healis

Some examples that come to mind:
DDR links - these should have authentication so no unauthorized access
is obtained.
Out-of-band management - a modem connected to a console/aux port (though
not recommended)
Session authentication for ISP users - ISP users with dialup or PPPoE

case studies using PPP authentication

2001-01-30 Thread Randy Mueller

I've been doing a lot of reading on PPP these past few days, and while I think I have
a semi-decent understanding of how it works, I don't quite understand why PPP
authentication would be configured.

Can somebody provide some insight into a practical use, maybe point me to some case
studies or other links?

It's my understanding that it is primarily used on dial-up links, and that makes
sense. But under what circumstances would it come into use?

Maybe somebody could just send me an example of it's use?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Re: IP accounting

2001-01-30 Thread Tony van Ree

Hi,

IP accounting only works outgoing on an interface.

You can pick it up using SNMP. I would assume therefore that once the MIB path is
known a simple SNMP "get" statement could pick up the details. You could then put
them into a spreadsheet or similar and this will allow you to manipulate the data.

What about physical port failure? Or cable failure (i.e. gets yanked

That's the kind of failure I was thinking of when I mentioned the single
point.

RE: Catalyst error message

You'll have to find a document covering Sup I architecture. Look for
Pinnacle. The document below covers error messages. It will shed a little
more light on what is being reported. It seems like a good idea not to buy
that card unless you learn that the message is benign.

From:
http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/lan/cat6000/sw_5_5/mess_rec/

  [chars]

Explanation This message indicates module [dec] has failed due to
[chars]. [dec] is the module number and
[chars] is one of the following: CPU Initialization Error, Memory
Test Failed, Boot Checksum Verification Failed,
SPROM Checksum Verification Failed, EOBC Loopback Test Failed, LTL-A
Error, Flash Erase/Write Error,
Pinnacle CBL Error, Pinnacle Packet Buffer Error, Pinnacle TLB Error,
or Unknown or Undocumented Error.
The first [chars] line is "Ports disabled" if the module is
non-ATM/Route Switch Module (RSM) (non-IOS). The

HSRP configuration

2001-01-30 Thread Jim Healis

For those that have used HSRP in your networks for redundant external
connections, how have you dealt with the "single point of failure" issue
when you have two routers, two switches and using ISL to run HSRP
between them?

I have two 7206VXR routers, two Cat 6509 switches. My current drawing
shows using the ISL uplinks from the switches to the routers and the ISL
link between the two switches to pass HSRP heartbeat. But I figure that
if the ISL link between the switches ever drops, then I have lost the
heartbeat and I have two active routers trying to be active HSRP.

I thought about using MHSRP, and having two separate groups for the two
separate switches the routers are connected to, but I still run into
that hearbeat thing again.

The last thought that I had was to run two ethernet segments from each
router to each switch. That would give the needed redundancy, but it
would cost so much.

Any ideas?

Jim

Re: HSRP configuration

What about physical port failure? Or cable failure (i.e. gets yanked
out by an idiot)?
That's the kind of failure I was thinking of when I mentioned the single
point.

Cisco 4000 Cables - Not sure???

2001-01-30 Thread Timothy Ouellette

Good afternoon all,

just wishing this forum would really dump the topic about the
pdf's/books. There are tons of other places to go to find these
materials. I hope this place doesn't get saturated with "me toos".
Anyways.

I just recently bought a cisco 4000 router with the np-2t (2 serial
ints) on it and I was planning to use it to do frame relay with my 25xx
series in my home lab. I'm just not sure what cable it is that I need.
Someone else had mentioned a 4000 dce to 25xx dte but could any of your
smart folk give me some better insight as to what I need to do this?
Thanks soo much for your time.

RE: Catalyst error message

2001-01-30 Thread Halaska, David

I believe that the supervisor engine is faulty and would need replacing. If
you don't have a contract that can get expensive. CBL is the color blocking
logic. I think every line card has that. On the CCO site do a search on
"cbl error" and you get some info. Its all pretty sketchy though.

RE: CCNP Books

2001-01-30 Thread Brandon Rose

Actually I'm one of the people that would much -prefer- to read a PDF over a
book. If I purchase a technical book that has the entire text in PDF
format, the only time I actually open the book itself is to get at the CD.

There are obvious piracy problems when the contents of a $50 book are
available as a PDF, which is a little disappointing. Seeing as I work for a
video game publisher I see quite clearly how damaging piracy is to a
publisher.

Think of some of the heftier Cisco Press books from the CCIE development
series. I'd gladly pay $60 for a complete PDF I can read anywhere and keep
as reference anywhere instead of paying $60 to have to lug a 20 lb book
around!

Call me crazy, but using a CD-R as opposed to renting a U-haul to transport
my library from home to the office is a bit more appealing.

Just some thoughts,
Brandon

Re: Early Token release

2001-01-30 Thread Priscilla Oppenheimer

At 11:03 AM 1/30/01, Thangavel .V.M wrote:
>I have a question extending to this discussion, whether this early token
>release will create a bus contention ?

It won't create bus contention since Token Ring is not a bus. But it can
reduce the amount of time a station has to wait for a free token, so you
could say it reduces contention. You may be thinking that it makes it more
likely that another station will jump in and grab the token, but that
station probably would have grabbed the token anyway. Estimating how much
early token release helps or harms is a really tricky problem that would
require detailed knowledge of traffic arrival patterns, which is often
impossible to determine.

Without early token release, a station releases a free token only after the
station's transmission has completely circled the ring and returned to the
sender. With early token release, the station releases a free token right
after sending the last bit of the transmission. On large networks, this may
reduce access time for other stations. On small networks, it doesn't make
any difference because the transmission has come around already anyway.
That's the dirty little secret with early token release (it doesn't really
help on most networks! &;-)

And here's another dirty little secret. You know those frame-copied bits
that everyone makes a big deal about? Well, IBM developed Token Ring with
two types of delivery mechanisms -- best effort (in which case the bits are
ignored) and assured delivery (in which case the bits are checked). As it
turns out almost all applications are best effort and the bits are ignored.

The frame copied bits are used for ring poll and neighbor discovery. When
the Active Monitor sends Active Monitor Present, the immediately downstream
neighbor sets the Frame Copied/Address Recognized bits and retransmits the
frame. The rest of the stations simply retransmit the frame. They now know
that there's an Active Monitor, but only the first station knows who its
upstream neighbor is. That station then sends Standby Monitor Present. The
immediately downstream neighbor sets the Frame Copied/Address Recognized
bits and retransmits the frame. That station now knows who its upstream
neighbor is. And so it continues until every station learns the address of
its upstream neighbor, using the Frame Copied/Address Recognized bits. And
that's what they are really good for. They aren't good for acks.

Priscilla

RE: BSCN??

I cannot say that there were or were not, that would violate the NDA,
however I can say that I did not spend nearly as much time studying IPX
EIGRP scenarios as I did studying IP EIGRP scenarios.

RE: CCNP Books

2001-01-30 Thread Priscilla Oppenheimer

Just want to put in a couple words on a topic I feel passionate about. If
people are converting copyrighted books to PDF and giving them away or
selling them, that's illegal, unethical, and stupid.

Obviously the publishing industry needs to come up with ways to get books
to people in formats other than paper, at prices that are affordable around
the world, not just in wealthy Silicon Valley. However, the publishing
industry will not be able to innovate if people don't pay for what they
use. Also, as Howard says, authors will stop creating works if they can't
make money on them. So, you're just screwing yourselves when you obtain
illegal copies of books, movies, and yes, even music.

I think the mentality that it's OK to steal comes from young people who
haven't yet created anything. I help out in our local high school in
computer classes. I see the light bulbs go on when I tell my kids, "Ten
years from now, it may be you creating that cool, new game or video or
software application. And you may have spent years and tons of money to
produce it. How will you feel if people steal it instead of paying for it?"

Usually the kids think about that for a while and see my point. One kid
told me, "I'm not going to create anything. I just want to be a computer
technician." That was the saddest thing I've heard.

I think it's good that we use this list every so often to remind people
that some resources are not free.

OK, let's get back to technical stuff now! &;-)

RE: BSCN??

2001-01-30 Thread Fowler, Joey

Usually I try and stay out of the clutter related to books, but relating to
the Original posting for this thread(which I couldn't find) My personal
comments on the CiscoPress book are to read chapter 9 first. While studying,
be prepared to turn to it to clarify concepts. Sometimes you are so busy
trying to figure all the in depth stuff you miss the whole picture, and that
chapter tries to keep things simple.

re: what's a terminal server was AUX port connects to Console

2001-01-30 Thread Brian Lodwick

Well reverse telnetting is what you are doing when you go from line to line.
It is the protocol used and specified by using the port number 2000 + line
number. There are other protocols you can use by specifying other ports like
tcp raw, but who really cares your definition IS a better definition than
mine.

Re: how useful is certificationzone ?

2001-01-30 Thread Phil Barker

How can you forget your CCNP study ?
Do you have a 'Brain Leak' ?

I've been with CertificationZone for about a year now.
The white papers do not contain all the material you
will need to pass, which they happily admit to, but
they are very well written and tend to keep to a
certain formula presentation wise.

IMO is excellent value for money, and will stay long
after CCIE written.

Regards,

Phil.

PS : I would tend to agree with other comments that 3
months study for CCIE written from SCRATCH would be
difficult to achieve. What is the rush ?

Re: AUX port connects to Console???

2001-01-30 Thread Ruben Arias

I'm trying to get a clearer picture on the subject
Don't have a 2509 or 2511 and never saw one.
But on 3600 you can add NM-16A which is 16 port Async module or
you can add NM-16AM which is 16 port Analog modem module.
I know 3600 + NM-16AM is called an access server
Will 3600 + NM-16A be called terminal server? or access server ?
Is Terminal Server same as Access Server as stated by Brian (Landa) and Daniel?
Thanks
Ruben

Here is an excellent link that has the comparison of TACACS+ and RADIUS,
which would be a good thing to know.

I was wondering if anyone knows how to set the terminal length on a Cat6509
switch? I could not find anything on CCO.

805 and async modem sample config needed

2001-01-30 Thread Piatnitchi Cristian

Hi all

I am trying to set up a DDR config but I am not sure I am on the right way.
Could you send me a sample config lines for that (serial interface and line
1) ?

My config for that:

line 1
 modem InOut
 transport input all
 stopbits 1
 flowcontrol hardware

I tried a reverse telenet: 10.10.10.1 2001 (line 1)
I have connection but neither local echo nor answer from the moedm for
AT commands.
Any explanation for that ?

Thanks in advance
Cristian

re: what's a terminal server was AUX port connects to Console

2001-01-30 Thread Daniel Cotts

Look up Access Servers on CCO. Examples are the 2509 and 2511. You connect
to them either via the console or via Telnet. Each of the async ports then
connects to another routers console port. You can then switch which router
you wish to configure without touching any cables. Used in labs. Also used
to manage routers at a remote site.
The configuration of the terminal server is known as reverse telnet. There
are examples on CCO. Also in the Caslow book.

Re: AUX port connects to Console???

2001-01-30 Thread Brian Lodwick

Terminal server, it doesn't sound like such a good thing, huh.
It is a router with async lines. You take the lines and plug them into all
of your other routers in the rack throw a few commands on the lines maybe
make a little host file and you can plug the console into the terminal
server and reverse telnet into the other routers instead of moving your
console cable from router to router.

RE: BSCN??

2001-01-30 Thread Timothy Metz

I just took the BSCN today and all I used was the Cisco Press book. I read
the book and then read it again while creating my own study guide. So far,
the Cisco press books have not let me down one bit. If you know them, you
will have zero problems on the test.

As far as the test itself, in my case, the first two thirds were easy. What
I mean by that is no reading in-between the lines or remembering really
obscure details were necessary. The last third took as long as the first two
thirds. The questions were challenging and required much thought. I scored a
885.
