Good afternoon, I wanted to send out an update from out latest trip, however time does not really permit, right now. We will say that it was positive. During the last two weeks we have experienced a lot of problems with emails, particularly that of receiving order forms. Part of the problem is with hot mail which have very small email boxes and they tend to overflow, particularly if large emails are received. The other part is that we have been attempting to bring up the new site and an accompanying mail server. Due to being in different parts of the world something went wrong and none of those emails have been accessible by us. We put a redirect on, only to find that some of our referrers placed an extended url on their sites, this then bypassed our redirect, so the problem continued. The above have also delayed our ability to send messages from those accounts. Secondly, during this period we continue to have both heavy exchanges and funding. Some of you may be aware that e-gold has been in short supply lately and we are experiencing problems and delays in keeping up with the demand, please bear with us. All payments have now been entered into our banking systems for execution. Wire transfers that were late due to the inability of us to enter them successfully will be sent out urgent, at our costs. Our online banking systems security kicks us out when a response is not received within time frames, making it impossible to enter them. We hve made an appointment, to look into satellite as our prime method of connecting as cable problems are becoming more frequent. Ordinarly we would have gone to dial up backup, but the authorities have advised us that at the moment it is not safe for financial transactions. Euro Gold Line is now one year old. Hard to believe even for us. Like all growing business' we had our share of problems, rather obstacles to overcome. We are very proud to be able to say that almost all of the clients that began with us continue to use our service, thank you for your loyalty. Needless to say that we made a lot of new friends along the way, and most of those continue on with us. Not long ago, we launched our US office, who like us had had to go through trying times, but like us will grow in the business. Our Australian affiliate, Paul at Gold Exchange has had great success, but also not without pain. More importantly, where do we go from here? We are currently completely redoing our website, as with additions it has just become too difficult not only for us but our clients. To accommodate our clients all over the world we have had to expand our banking network and continue to do so, the new pages will make this much simpler for everyone to use. We promised to have a new website together for the debit card program. We will be a few days late, but it will be there. The new website will enable us to market the debit more effectively worldwide. We will be adding, the ability for our clients to be able to view their balances on line, and afterward receive their monthly statments for a small monthly charge. We recently added a travel section and that will be expanded on. We have used it, and the feedback from some of our test clients has been excellent. We are negotiating ways for them to be able to accept digital currencies as payment. We are currently opening up 6 new offices to serve our clients better, most of these are targeted to open within a month, depending on banking arrangements. The most significant thing about this is our clients will be able to reach a Euro Gold Line member practically 24 hrs a day for support. We have many new and innovative projects in various stages at this time. Our goal is to provide the best overall, timely, quality service for all of our clients needs. We remain keenly aware of this as we expand our operations to insure that we do not dilute this. We are also looking at moving servers, and getting our mail server as we do experience problems in that area from time, most significantly in lost orders. Good morning, Sorry for the delay in updating everybody on our Riga trip. I suppose that it follows naturally, as we had a 5 hour delay in Prague on our return due to a storm in Holland. This was followed by 5 of the provinces being without cable the following day. Needless to say we needed some time to catch up on essential business prior to giving this update. We are establishing a Latvian company and office, as our business will require frequent trips there. One of the drawbacks has been that we have only had partial use of one computer, and since much of our business is financial we do not use internet cafes. Future trips we will have the use of a private office with two computers to properly conduct business while away. Our time on the net will still be minimized, as we always have many meetings, but things will be much smoother. The website is progressing in a complete redesign. We are minimizing changes to the current pages in order to expedite the new one. Late last year Euro Gold Line became a holding company in Holland, and are now registered as Euro Gold Line B.V., the registration for the Dutch Chamber of Commerce is 09048829. We have had very good feedback, from several continents, regarding the new travel package (see index page lower left). We are continuing negotiations to make this available to clubs to participate in and for alternate payments including digital currency. There will be another major announcement, later today, in regard to the debit card program. All I will say at this point is that it will include price reductions and additional features or each client being able to view their balances online, and ultimately statements. Lastly, we hope to have 10 affilliate/branch offices on line by the end of February and the work for that is progressing nicely. These will handle local currencies and be able to provide immediate support for our clients worldwide. Ultimately, we hope to establish a newtork of virtual accounts to replace having to use intermediatory banks which has proved very difficult for many of our clients. Michael, That is an excellent idea, we need to spread the gospel of gold currency, to gain more widespread acceptance. The problem is far more acute, here in Europe, ask the average person and he doesn't know what you are talking about. Some time ago, I conducted a survey in an office of close to 40 computer literate people (almost all of whom have computers at home), and only 5 had ever heard of e-gold, and none had accounts (they do now!). Euro Gold Line is addressing the other cause for many Europeans failing to use Gold currency, mainly the cost of sending funds. Our clients in all of the Euro countries, plus a number of other countries will be able to avoid the high cost of international transfers and unexpected intermediatory bank charges as we open banking relationships in those countries over the next few weeks. Our clients in the UK and N. Ireland have, repeatedly told us that in order to fund their accounts it is costing them a minimum of $45 to $55 or more. When these accounts are in place, the cost will be a LOCAL transfer and our new all inclusive fee of $15 (at the low end of funding), thereby saving the client $30 to $40. A side benefit to this will be faster receipt/sending of funds. In the relatively short time that Euro Gold Line has been in operation we have been able to build up a solid base of loyal clients, of which we are proud. Furthermore most new business comes from referrals by these clients. Not only do we look for ways we can better serve our clients needs, we encourage them to let us know how we can better serve them. Good morning Graham, How is Texas treating you, or are you on the road again? Just to let you know, the Dutch banks have learned this also. In about half the inbound transfers I receive a charge of about $6.50 give or take on USD value. Ocassionally, they really sock it to me on the outboound side, a normal transfer of $500 to NZ costs me about $17. My favorite, remains the Postbank, where it takes 4 days to move funds from one side of town to the other, unless I pay an extra equiv. $6.50, and then it's there in a couple of hours. There are days that I think I am in business to make the banks rich. I am glad to see that eCTA is moving forward, my paperwork is in the mail. I urge those who have not yet joined to do so, their experience and input is invaluable to the organization. Together we can make a difference. Good morning Rachel Willmer, Euro Gold Line can assist to a degree, unfortunately, we just had to raise our limit on the FREE transfers on cashing in e-gold. However, I think that you will find our rates better than the average. A normal bank transfer, we will deduct $15 (it cost us more) and for same day service add $10 in other words $25. We review this periodically and make adjustments as we can in favor of our clients. Each transaction is important to us and we have sent as little as 63GBP to a client in the UK, from which we have a lot of clients. Check out our sell rates, while looking at our pages. We hope later this year to be able to eliminate the cross border fee, with a new product being developed by our bank. I noted comments about not being able to access e-gold's site yesterday. On Wednesday for more than half a day, I was not able to access the site, yet at the same time, Paul, Ice Gold reported no problems. Friday morning, and the problems is repeating, I cannot access e-gold. Does anybody know what is happening? Wednesday, I reported it to my cable company thinking it was their problem, but today I am not sure. It sure would be nice if there was some kind of answer, or general statement on what is happening. I have been on ICQ with the owners all day, they have already made changes and will divulge the necessary information to insure that you are not getting ripped of. Their problem was that it was released before everything was ready. It is just a shame, that because of bad experiences we are all ready to throw rocks. Hopefully, by tomorrow all of the information will be available, primarily on their site. It is not newness, but intent that makes something bad. I have pointed out some of their problems and they took immediate action to correct them. I can't say that for everyone. I suggest that before you throw rocks, remember the old saying. The net has made synics, to a degree of all of us, however, every every legitimate program including e-gold had to have a start. I am not telling you to go out and get an account, but take another look and watch what happens. Keep skeptical but open minded. We wanted to warn our clients that Thursday, is a bank holiday. To answer some questions in regard to accepting Western Union bot from our clients and posted on this list. The requirements for the Western Union Quick Pay method require "Audited financial statements for the last 2 years", unfortunately Euro Gold Line as well as many others are immediately eliminated from consideration. Up to a point, however, we all had to submit "notarized"or in my case "lawyerized"documents at our own costs to be approved to get on the list in the first place. To be removed, without prior notice, in my view (and some others that I've consulted) constitutes a breach of contract as well as FAITH, worsened by announcing it to this list. Good evening Mr. Jackson, I find a number of things wrong with your unilateral decision to remove Euro Gold Line from your list on the e-gold site. 1). First of all, I can forward an email from Mr. Ray who stated that had it been up to him we would have been listed weeks prior. 2). Second of all you gave no notice of your intentions to do so. 3). Thirdly, It took me three emails, with the last copied to Mr. Ray just to add fax to the listing. 4). Are you prepared to remit all costs associated in getting on the list at all? 5). Your organization, e-gold/G&SR/Omnipay refused to add me to the site, originally, due to a conflict with Mr. Kelly, which he made public as a result of my offer to preclude that problem. The names, domains etc. that I held LEGALLY and PROPERLY according to the law of the Netherlands, registrars of domains were changed at my costs. The last was a one word change to the site which was irrelavent, but I made it anyway. 6). I consider your action to be an attempt to restrain free trade. I have never publicly critized your organization, but feel compelled to do so now. On several occassions I have contacted your organization regarding possible fraudelent activity. I have either had NO RESPONSE or a lecture without any action. 7). Where in your agreements, does it state that I can do business with no one else? You sir, have breached the agreement, not we. 8). Unless this is reversed immediately and we are added back to your page, I will seek actions via the European organizations for restraint of free trade. My lawyer, which I contacted already as a result of this, is in full agreement with me. Don't forget he also read the agreement before I returned it signed to you. You chose to announce this in this list which is available to everyone, after you had already taken action. Last evening several of our clients called us, stating that they were unable to access the e-gold site. Our webmaster, and I immmediately went to investigate. When we were able to get into the e-gold site, we discovered that an attempt had been made to access our account. IT FAILED. E-gold's security system WORKS, ours did too. However, though pleased, we are and will continue all efforts to make sure that it stays that way. We notified our clients, even though there was no cause for alarm, as this is the type of relationship we want with our clients. We cannot overemphasize our confidence in the security that e-gold has put in place for the protection of their account holders. We subsequently received emails, purporting to come from e-gold, stating our account had been closed due to fraud and for us to submit our number and passphrase (put in bad english). We also recognized them to be phony and contacted e-gold. All of the information that we have gathered in connection with this attempt has been forwarded to e-gold, which again was very concerned and supportive. Further, we are arranging to forward all of this information to the Dutch unit, of the authorities, that investigates internet crime. This is in keeping with our stated policy. Do not store your passphrase in your computer Delete pages, particularily after accessing critical accounts Windows users, use the Microsoft utility to delete temporary files and pages from your disk See the first posting for additional links to aid you in protecting yourself from hackers, scammers and frauds. NEVER, NEVER respond to an email that asks for your passphrase. E-gold does not do this, if you look carefully at the email address that they are asking you to respond to, you will see e-qold rather than e-gold. This is difficult to see, particularily with the underlining, as long as you remember that any request for your passphrase is phony you won't get caught with your guard down. Their ISP refuses to shut them down. We called them from the Netherlands, the server refuses to shut them down. We are dependent for those in the US, ie e-gold/G&SR/Omnipay to do something. I think that as the providor refuses to listen that action should be taken against them. We have called their ISP provider, in the US, who states that they will not remove them for insufficient proof. I suggest that all of the US subscribors report them to the local law, national etc. authorities. We offered to forward the emails and other information to them, after spending more than an hour, from Holland, on the telephone. They refused. These links were given to me by Mr. James Ray, Omnipay. We suggest them to all of our clients, as well as posting cautions about current scams, as we hear them. I recognize that the cat is out of the bag, but you should still take some time to review them. Apparently, someone must have hacked into your computer in order to get the passphrases. Windows users are very susceptible in this area, as windows retains previous pages. You can clear these manually via internet options, clear all temporary files, I do this every time I have gone into my e-gold account. Dear offshore surfer, The "Kamer van Koophandel" (Chamber of Commerce) in the Netherlands is diferrent than in most countries that I have been in. They are not just a collector of fees and forms (though they do that too). They are in fact proactive, we had to make adjustments to both the paperwork and the site to meet their requirements. Furthermore, you cannot get a tax number (see our about us page) without being registered. The banks, in the Netherland, not only will not open a business account with it, but will delve deeper than that, as they are very concerned about any activity that might damage their reuputations. Our ISP is based in the Netherlands, once again, not only did we have to submit the proper registrations, but also, they view the site for compliance with Dutch law. This cost us many meetings, and elapsed time of about a month before we could legitimately open our doors for business. Though painful, at the time, we AGREE with those policies. We have taken this a step further, by placing their logo and a link to their site (it is also in English) at the top of our entry page. We are not required to do so, nor was it suggested that we do. However, we take our responsibility, in the handling of financial transactions or others very seriously. Our about us page gives you all the details, including telephone numbers, which will be answered by us, or overnight by our computer. We have started a private group at Yahoo, for the benefit of our clients. The first posting includes links, that our clients can use to educate themselves on how to spot a possible scam or fraud operation. When we hear of one we post for the benefit of our clients. We also post virus warnings, e-gold related matters and news regarding our srvices (ie additions, changes, bank holdiays). All new clients are invited to join. E-gold requires documentation of MM's, included in that is a picture ID, and they also view the site before adding a potential MM to the list. I think that you will find, these are isolated incidents, regretable as they are, but that MM's on the whole act responsibly and are cognizant of their responsibilities. The MM's are currently forming an "Alliance" which, hopefully will address some of these concerns. You must understand, that being spread out all over the world, this is a very difficult task. MM's have also put up monies to try to locate and stop scammers, we want them off the net. I think that this is an excellent idea. Perhaps, it could be implemented easier, if the email is generated when the account is placed under the existing hold. OK if you goofed on login, you know it, and I have done it. However, if someone else has attempted, notifying you would enable you to take action BEFORE they can succeed. Currently, the only way you find out is if you attempt to log in, many people don't do this that often. How about this e-gold, is it doable?
