A male Kirtland's warbler was found singing on the South Point Trail at 9:30
this morning just past the beacon on the west side of the trail, it was
observed to be moving north east.
A yellow billed cuckoo was seen on Bennett road this morning as well.

A Three-toed Woodpecker was seen at 11:15am today by the Pony Barns during the
morning bird hike.
The Spotted Towhee was also seen again today behind the maintenance compound
around 11:00am , the location it has previously been observed

were bank swallows.
With the good migration observed today, it appears as if it will certainly pick
up for the weekend with the weather forecasting a southerly flow. Birding in
Rondeau should be excellent.

male Orchard Oriole is singing for the second day from trees at the
Beach #10 Access Parking Lot. A Carolina Wren has been singing sporadically
for two days from the VC area as well.
This will be my last report, thanks to the Friends of Rondeau for this
opportunity to write them and to you
was heard singing this morning at 5:15AM about 1km south
of the Visitor Centre on the South Pt. Trail. A woodcock and baby have been
seen a couple of times walking across Lakeshore Road so drive with caution!

Black and White Warblers and Ovenbirds.
Evening birders on the Marsh Trail last night recorded Marsh and Sedge Wren,
Sandhill Cranes, and Whip-poor-will.

Hi All;
Mike Steckler came into the Vistor Centre to report a Yellow-breasted Chat. All
of the staff rushed out to see the bird which was at the end of the Visitor
Centre parking lot by the Tulip Tree Trail sign at the head of the trail. Great
looks.

There will be no regular hikes on Saturday, September 6. Instead, the
2nd Annual W.E. SAUNDERS BIRDING ODYSSEY will be held, which is a
friendly competition. Participants will be assigned
Festival of Flight
birding program for Spring 2003. We hope that you have enjoyed these
postings. Keep visiting Rondeau, since spring migrants will continue to pass
through in numbers until the second week of June.
