I would think the 1700's would be
the best Voice router for the money. I would assume- with a reasonable
discount, you could outfit 2 complete Voice 1700's for around 3,000.

Michael,
Hi! I'd recommend getting a couple of 2513s in addition to the gear you
have listed. I'd also recommend a couple of 2503s or 04s and an ISDN
simulator (unless you were planning to put the BRI modules in the 4xxx
routers). The hardware you are going to purchase should really be focused

Here is a link on troubleshooting Token Ring.

I assume you have entered "no shutdown" on the interface. And assuming you don't have a
ring speed mismatch (try both 4 and 16) take a look at the cable and swap it with a

If your PC is a win box.. there is a patch for TR, its named *bak.bat or
something like that.. i cant remember... search the MS site or the
knowledge base for it.
Not familiar with the IBDN MAU, but make sure the RI and RO is

Hi,
I sent an email last saturday asking for how to make the TR interface be
up/up.
I connect my token ring interface to MAU with just a straight through
cable (and I am NOT connected to the Ring In or Ring Out)
The MAU is IBDN (NORDX/CDT). that is all I can find about the MAU
info. It is a s

Normal, no. Common, yes.
i.e Its quite common to see CPUHOG messages when performing online
insertion and removal on a router. Though in a perfect world this would
not be normal behavior.
All it means is that a process, in this case the Microcode Loader, has
taken up alot of CPU time (possibly h

I reread Brian's post and understand what he's saying. Basically it's a case
for not using "ip unnumbered ethernet0" and assigning an ip address to each
BRI interface making the point-to-point link between them its own subnet
with the ethernet side of each router being on yet another subnet (3 sub
I agree with the previous 2 posts. You need to look at the remote router.
Since the error message from q931 denotes a lower level problem I'd also run
Debug ISDN q921 which will give you information about your data link
connection and possibly tell you exactly why the router is returning a busy
