I also seem to remember from my studies awhile back, that you have to reboot the router when changing the ISDN switch type to make the change take effect. Something like you'll see the change in the config, but the router won't recognize it until the reboot. Have you tried that?

You need to turn the debug on, and log the output which you can either watch real time, or examine later (or both). debug dialer debug isdn q931 those should be more than enough. don't forget to also do term mon and to log it, just turn the logging ON on your terminal emulator. good

I have never hung an isdn modem off the back of a router. I have used a BRI before...so my first suggestion is to do that...tyou also have to make sure your serial port is the same on the router and the TA. I dont know if the 2501's serial port is sync/async or not... John Neiberger
