I am not able communicate between 2 routers when connected using the
ISDN backup of a leased connection. My router IP's are -
Router A
S0/0 - 192.168.1.1 255.255.255.252
E0/0 - 10.4.10.50 255.255.255.0
ISDN - IP Unnumbered.
Router B
S0 - 192.168.1.2 255.255.255.252
E0 - 10.4

wonder if anyone has any experience with this product and let me know if

You only setup a username and password if you are using pap or chap
authentication. If you don't use any authentication then no password or
username is required.

the router when changing the ISDN switch type to make the change take
effect. Something like you'll see the change in the config, but the router
won't recognize it until the reboot. Have you tried that?

ISDN interface is configured as a backup interface, it will be in standby mode
and cannot be used for anything else.

not disconnect just because the Serial line went down if you are using it.
However, if you configure your logical dialer without load thresholds and
ppp multilink you can use 1 B channel for 1 connection so that if

Hi All
I configured a 2503 for a customer today using
ISDN to connect. Everything is fine, DNS resolution is happening, can connect
to everything BUT transfers seem to be slow - a modem like 5k
Question - ISDN: I have an ISDN number at work I can dial into, so if I get
an ISDN circuit in my house, I should be able to practice DDR by having the
circuit at my house dial the circuit at work (instead of having Sprint
install two ISDN circuits in my house)?

The switch will provide the CLID. So the Telephone company can rewrite
it the CLID is part of q931.

and ask them (not always the most useful of steps, I admit), or check
the "debug ISDN q921 / q931" output for any errors. I have no experience of

I have 2x 2503 and 1x 2501. I know the commands, but don't know how to
'fake'
these connection types @ home.
1) You can use an ISDN simulator, but from previous groupstudy discussion I
believe it is generally cheaper to get a real ISDN line. I'm not aware of any
other way of faking ISDN.
2) This is much easier :-) You can use a Cisco router as a frame relay switch.
