I have an old Dell GX-Pro with a Pentium Pro 200, 128 Meg, 3COM 3c905
Boomerang 10/100baseT and Adaptec 2940UW scsi (no IDE enabled). Its a test
machine I use at work and I thought I'd upgrade it first to check things out
before upgrading my main home server machine. I'm glad I did the test
to cooker, but that was
1500MB, and over a DSL link thats going to take some time...
The base installation is 9.0 btw.

will ask you if you want to start X after boot up. Just tell it no. If
that don't work, just delete the start-up script in the appropriate
runnlevel. Usually it's runnlevel 5, on mien it's rc5.d/S30dm for

Hi Oren,
You need to open the tape device as a non rewinding device
/dev/nst0
So it would be
dump -f /dev/nst0 files to dump
dump -f /dev/st0 second files to dump
Then it won't rewind after the first dump.
To access the second dump you will need again to open the device as
/dev/nst0.

Thanks, but it must be there for Mandrake somewhere, since you need it for
libungif, and you need libungif for qt2, and I'm pretty sure Mandrake ships
with qt2. ;)
