The mic selection is totally dependent on whether you want a "stick" mic. for
use on a stand or boom or a headset (mic and can combination). I take it you
want to step up from the typical hand held mic.
Almost anything Bob Heil has will work just fine. Pick something in your price
range.
Don't forget to provide the electret capsule with a source of bias voltage.

I had a thought reguarding the RF issues a couple of guys have exeriencing,
and another reguarding audio circuitry using differential input and output
amplifiers ie the Delta 44 (or equivalent) soundcards, and they both envolve
the audio cables connecting the radio to the soundcard.
