it's just much better and easier on the book to let it sleep

Yeah, that's real hot. One thing you might check is where the heat
may be originating. Pretty easy to tell if under the dvd or just
cpu. If the underside of the dvd player is also 'real' hot, it may
simply be venting towards hard drive and cpu and overloading fans.

i don't think it's a sequence, i recently did this and pressed them all
down at the same time and it worked on the second try.

I have a G3 lombard 400, MacOS 10.3.9, 512 MB Ram. I've been chasing a
lockup problem for 9 months now. Under moderate to heave cpu load, it
will lockup. This includes any kind of image rendering ie. photoshop,
preview, exif viewer, etc. It has happened while 'optimizing' during

I've noticed similar behavior with my airport connection after I let
the machine 'fall asleep' on its own. But if I 'put' it to sleep, no
such problem. In fact, if after it falls asleep and I wake it up
resulting in lost connection, I can 'put' it back to sleep, wake it
up, and
that problem - you'll need to talk to XYZ about that problem.
I'd also recommend just powering the unit up, plugging it into your
network and then trying it out with your iBook. But do be sure to
turn security on soon afterwards.

I have an Enterasys wireless card that I am using with my Lombard 400.

I purchased a used G4 800 DVI Powerbook this last weekend.
Everything runs fine and its in great shape, except the Combo drive.
It was damaged by prior owner. DVD still works but no cd performance
at all.

I agree with you, Counselor, but the court (Apple) told me that if
they saw the drive was replaced, they would assume that was the cause

so the problem was not with the shared library manager extension, or the
open transport extension, but with another one called lwLanScannerPPC
which i don't need anyway (or so it seems). disabling that extension
solved my problems. thanks everyone who wrote and helped me out.

310 but not the 320. i'm looking at

No, I don't think so. I found a genuine HP toner for an HP
