zapping the PRAM by holding down Cmd-Opt-P-R until you hear the startup
chime a few times. Then, perform a reset via the Ctrl-Fn-Power

the USB extensions installed and decided to try the Keyspan USB Card.
When I boot up with the card in the slot, the PB hangs after it gets to
the desktop and all the icons (HD and USB Card) show up.

Titanium, it worked for my Wallstreet. Phew, I was afraid Belkin

That's not the problem **if** the temperature in your Wallstreet is
only 143 degrees F as you indicate in a later post. That's assuming
the temperature is being reported correctly.

There are 2 drives on that site that will definitely work with the
Wallstreet -- a 20GB 4200RPM Toshiba for $72, and a 40GB 4200RPM
Hitachi for $129. The Toshiba drive doesn't seem to be rated too
highly, though.
