it up and running on my local network as well as over the net. It works

Rather then having vnc start automatically I suggest starting vnc only
when you need it. That is the best way to handle any service. Run it
only when needed! Somewhere in the Mandrake control center, you can
start and stop any available service. That is probably the easiest

This works like a champ! Here's what I did to make VNC work with not only
KDE, but kdm and I get to choose the window manager!
1. Delete (or comment) every line in ~/.vnc/xstartup
2. Start vncserver with the '-query localhost' option -- I also added
the -geometry 800x600 so that it'd fit

expert board... My speculation is this .. Maybe a problem in one of the
Mandrake libs... I tried seeing if there were updates for the libs vnc
uses... I also tried compiling vnc native and it crashes a lot... Im at a
loss...
