In my case this wasn't an upgrade from RH8. It was a clean install on a
brand new computer with newly formatted hard disks.

I recently upgraded my motherboard to an ASUS with onboard NVIDIA graphics.
I installed Redhat 8 and can't find the utility to configure X.
Xconfigurator is evidently gone and I can't otherwise get X loaded. The
'screens' seem to be misconfigured.

I have a compaq server that is running rh 7.3 and connected to a specter
logix tape library and a sony ait 50 gig tape drive. My NetVault
software says the tape drive is not longer on line. I reboot and it
appears that all is fine and then I get a scrolling error on my screen.

I have RH7.3 and postfix running. I want to use SASL. Can I do this
without installing cyrus and reconfiguring my postfix? I know I will have
to reconfigure the main.cf What version of postfix supports SASL and is it
part of 7.3?

I had some more time to kill on sensor config today
;) and I had success!
I cannot find the how-to that got me running on the
LTSP Server again, unfortunately, but I recall running
/prog/detect/sensors-detect
depmod -a
and
sensors -s
although not necessarily in that
order.
Funny thing is
I have recentlyupgraded some machines to RH8
(from 7.3) and I have a definite problem with lm_sensors in RH8: it just will
not work!
On the first pc I thought it might be a problem
with the sensor chip, so I tried windoze for a day, and the chip was fine. I
gave up on that one (for now)
go to the the www.alsa-project.org site and click on soundcards, it lists
the specific instructions for known sound cards.
